Hi,

Tentative post here - got 2 faint BFPs on Sun/Mon (period only due yesterday.
EDD seems to be between Feb 28 - March 1st depending on whether I use standard 28 day cycle or adjust to my 30 day one.
DC2 for me - DS was 8 days late so think I'm more likely to belong in the March club than Feb.

Will do another test in a couple of days to get the elusive dark line so I don't think I'm making it up

Hope someone else joins me soon.

That's me 5 weeks today :) just willing the 12 week mark to hit so I know everything ok! Soooo excited to tell my ds too but defo waiting till 12 weeks! Starting to worry I'm going to lose my job, took not well in work and ended up telling my boss who made it very clear she wasn't happy......,I'm off now till next week and fully expecting her to have found a reason to pay me off :/

FlipFlippingFlippers · 16/07/2014 09:11

Thanks for all your kind messages. He's been avoiding me really arse so we've not spoken much. I don't doubt he'll get over it eventually. He owes me a big apology though! Has everyone been to their gp yet? I'm probably going to go next week if I get chance.

I'm currently sat wondering how something the size of a lentil can have such power over my body. trying not to vomit on the bus

notoasthere · 16/07/2014 09:14

Lots of new bumps joining us, this is going to be a very busy group indeed!

flip he certainly does, let's hope it involves some sort of grand gesture too!

I haven't seen my gp, we book in directly with the midwife at 7-9 weeks

Popsicle30 · 16/07/2014 09:26

M27 5 weeks today until I'm 12 weeks too...well if my EDD is correct! I know underneath I'm excited but until that scan I can't really settle. I'm off for my booking appt today so that is definitely making it feel a bit more real.

My nausea is up and down....up today Sad.

flip I'm sure he'll get through it but you are correct he owes you an apology. Big hugs!

ZebraZeebra · 16/07/2014 09:32

broodylicious WHOOP WHOOP! CONGRATULATIONS :D

flip DH did exactly the same last time with DS. In fact throughout the pregnancy he'd have wobbles and say "I just wish we'd waited". To be fair he was newly self employed BUT we had been TTCing so it's not like it was a surprise. The day we brought DS home, Dh said - you were right, you were so right.

It'll be fine - wobbles are normal. Hell, I'd wanted a baby for years and STILL freaked out when I got pregnant.

muchostinky · 16/07/2014 09:52

Thought that I would add myself to the list, been on my ipad up until now though - so that's my excuse! Grin

Anyway, hope people are doing okay this morning? I am okay, my DP keeps saying 'I cant't believe you are pregnant' and to be fair that's a little how I feel. I was about to join Slimming World to try and lose a bit or weight before this happened - but looks like I will have to do it the other way around! Would be fab if I technically end up not putting on any weight during this pregnancy as the last one was no hold barred on the food front!

It's weird as you get a bit older you worry all the time though, during my last pregnancy I was 29 and I don't really remember worrying about miscarrying at all, but with this one it is definitely at the front of my head a lot. Doesn't help that I am 4 stone heavier and 7 years older I guess. Sad

Rainbow555 · 16/07/2014 10:08

Hello to familiar names that have joined-congrats!
pickled I am 5 weeks today too! Feels good to reach a small milestone!

Saw a midwife tonight and she seemed nice, but whilst I was sat there it a
L suddenly felt very real!! Yikes!

Pains have settled thank goodness and no blood today so fx it's all ok. I am really emotional tonight, DH is like why are you crying, I'm like I have no idea!!

Off on work trip tomo so a little anxious but lots of snacks packed and hopefully it will be all good.

junkfood I also felt like I wanted to kill ppl yesterday and today! Oh it's such a rollarcoaster!

M27J5M · 16/07/2014 10:19

Aww that's great Popsicle :) I have another 3 weeks till booking app, hopefully get an early scan while I'm there, got 1 with ds cos I've had mc's in past so I'm hoping I'll get another this time round :)

persepolis123 · 16/07/2014 10:48

macca I was overweight last time round and worried I would be told off but wasn't. The midwife weighed me but didn't make any negative comments and said that they don't calculate bmi when you are pregnant because it's not accurate.

The clearblue digi said 2-3 on Friday and I have retested today and got 3+ weeks. Very reassuring to know my hcg levels are going up. Last month when I miscarried my hcg levels were back to normal the same day the bleeding started. I’m feeling a bit more positive now.

ZebraZeebra · 16/07/2014 11:59

Argh the BMI thing is not accurate but my midwives do calculate it. While not overweight I was at the top end last time and I was in tears at 39 weeks while the midwife talked about allowing or not allowing a home birth. They also talked about it at the MLU. Fuckers. But it certainly doesn't seem to be a standard thing nationally.

notoasthere · 16/07/2014 12:16

BMI is such a crock of well, you know. You could be 'overweight', put on a stone in pregnancy and be very healthy, and someone of 'normal' bmi could put on 5 stone and have nothing said....it's a ridiculous system

FlipFlippingFlippers · 16/07/2014 13:56

My bmi is very high (36) but I had no problems with any comments in my previous 2 pregnancies. I wasn't allowed to use a birthing pool and was monitored a bit more frequently during labour but other than that they didn't go on at me. I actually lost weight both times so I suppose that helped!

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 16/07/2014 14:05

Interesting item on 'risk factors' in pregnancy, including high BMI

Flip - wow, do you have a lentil already? I only have a sesame seed, but he's making me very hungry and tearful and I have horrid cramps and stabby pains a lot. Don't know if the C-sec scar from last time is aggravating that or what, but it's making me nervous. Especially with the hideous dreams I was having about MC last night :(

FlipFlippingFlippers · 16/07/2014 14:34

I'm 6 weeks today so apparently its more pea sized than lentil now! Totally hear you on the cramping. Its quite painful actually. I don't know how some women go their entire pregnancy not knowing that they're even pregnant!

Thanks for the link it was an interesting read. I've decided I'm going to get a doula if I can get the money together. That way I've got some support if the midwives get a bit keen with making me stay on the bed etc Hmm

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 16/07/2014 15:02

I'm 5+2 so it better get growing!

I proper freaked my mum out yesterday when she was asking about MW appts etc and realised I was going to be outside the NHS for all my care, bar scans. Was quite funny really.

just had a good nap on the sofa. Woke up to find DS curled up in front of me so I spooned him as he watched Mr Maker

notoasthere · 16/07/2014 15:54

flip look in to mentored doulas as well - they are often very experienced, but just charge less while they are working towards recognition with doula uk

notoasthere · 16/07/2014 15:56

Is anyone else's child/ren getting too familiar with cbeebies? I'm just so tired that if we do a morning activity I'm useless by the afternoon!

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 16/07/2014 16:27

notoast - yup! We go out every morning but atm we're watching TV most afternoons, partly because I crash out on the sofa, and partly because it's too hot for him to go outside really. Feel bad, but what can you do? As long as they're out of the house some of the day...

I just had to wash out my first pair of pooey pants Envy

PickledPorcupine · 16/07/2014 16:34

So glad it's not just me having cramps, every one freaks me out so much! I have never been so worried about anything in my life (whilst trying to staying really calm as anxiety kicks my IBS off!).

I've lied to 7 people today including my mum, feel bad but they'll understand hopefully Grin

Littleturkish · 16/07/2014 17:29

So so tired today- I look pregnant now which is making my ED go all twitchy. It's silly really, as I know it's completely irrational- but I'll feel happier once I can just tell people- I'm not fat, I'm pregnant!

I've got a work meal tonight- how to get round not drinking and eating certain food in front of a department of very nosy and analytical women...wish me luck!

M27J5M · 16/07/2014 17:33

Oh little Turkish I'm glad to hear some1 else is looking preg, feel as if I'm showing already, more so as the day goes on but I was never like this with my 1st, didn't start having a wee potbelly/bump till 10/11 week mark

ZebraZeebra · 16/07/2014 17:33

Ahh yes the Cbeebies guilt. He seems to watch endless episodes of Rastamouse and Chuggington and I feel terrible because I swore he'd never watch TV...

Not finding the pooey nappies too bad but he did a rare middle-of-the-night one last night and I didn't appreciate the wake up! Though eatscake PT has to be much worse...at least it's contained in a nappy!

Littleturkish · 16/07/2014 18:02

M27 it's not even squishy and I can't suck it in! I'm normally a size eight, have a BMI of 18 and a flat stomach. I now have huge breasts, chubby face and a pot belly. I think it looks all the worse on a small frame, as I feel dumpy and bloated now. Ugh.

And no alcohol to let me forget about it!! So unfair!

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 16/07/2014 18:18

Turkish you're not endearing yourself to my chubby and bloated personage atm :-P

Just tell them you've had a bit of an upset tummy and you don;t want to spend tomorrow rushing to the loo. That ought to head them off at the pass!

M27J5M · 16/07/2014 18:34

I'm the exact same Turkish, normally a size 8 but my jeans etc are getting tight and pinching at the waist, my normally flat non existent tummy is constantly protruding! Made me paranoid and think I'm further ahead than I think :/
