Hi,

Tentative post here - got 2 faint BFPs on Sun/Mon (period only due yesterday.
EDD seems to be between Feb 28 - March 1st depending on whether I use standard 28 day cycle or adjust to my 30 day one.
DC2 for me - DS was 8 days late so think I'm more likely to belong in the March club than Feb.

Will do another test in a couple of days to get the elusive dark line so I don't think I'm making it up

Hope someone else joins me soon.

flip My dh says he has felt just about every emotion you could ever imagine in the last week or so, he has just limited the ones he has decided to share with me. A blip is natural, it's very hard for men to comprehend what's going on as it's not happening to them. Men are also terrified so he's probably just putting that out in the only way he feels he can.

Try to give him a bit of space and keep calm. All will be fine x

Hey flip - my (usually super lovely) did exactly the same thing when we found out about DS. He was freaking about finances and accommodation and everything. Try not to take it personally and don't get involved. He'll chill the fuck out when he hears a heartbeat :)

junkfoodaddict · 15/07/2014 21:26

Hi Macca!
I booked my 'booking in' appointment with the midwife team yesterday. I am 'officially' 4 weeks and 1 day. Some days I have raging hormones (I wanted to kill someone yesterday afternoon) and others nothing. This morning I arrived at work feeling very sick and dizzy. A cup of tea and a biscuit sorted it. But I was never this sickly this early on with DC1. In fact, I had no symptoms except sore boobs, which wasn't unsual for just before a period, until week 8.
Sorry but I haven't read everyone's messages as I have been away for a few days so welcome to those who may have joined over the weekend.
Is there a STATS list going round?

MaccaPaccaismyNemesis · 15/07/2014 21:28

Cried at work today so took a test when I came home! Due around the 26th I think. Only 3-4 weeks so a bit nervous now. Congratulations everyone!

MaccaPaccaismyNemesis · 15/07/2014 21:30

Will call and book in tomorrow- going to get told off for having a high bmi, but never mind that. I'm a having a baby!

broodylicious · 15/07/2014 21:33

[shyly enters room] please can I tentatively join you ladies? I got a very faint line today (11/12dpo) so will test again in the morning with fmu. This will be dc2, god willing, we have a 2 year old dd. I mc at 12 weeks at the end of February and had a few complications as a result so this was our first month of ttc again. Very very nervous and wary but super excited and hopeful of a stronger line tomorrow. I certainly feel crappy for the cause!!
I can recognise some names here already - hello to those who I've met before Smile - and am looking forward to sharing this journey with you all x

tannyLoo · 15/07/2014 21:45

Broody!!!!!!!!! woop woop! x

junkfoodaddict · 15/07/2014 21:50

Was anyone on the January 2012 board? A lot of us 'went elsewhere' and speak everyday 'elsewhere'. Just interested to know if anyone got left behind?

Brisgirl · 15/07/2014 22:02

rainbow that sounds just like my night - having slept all weekend I had the worst sleep last night and terrifying cramps. Have spent all day swinging between being convinced I've mc'd and talking sense to myself. Hope you feel better soon - just know you're not alone in this!

I so badly want to just enjoy these few weeks before loads of people know and whilst I'm relatively symptom free but it's so so so hard. Very weepy Brisgirl tonight so I should sign off and go to bed. Night all!

Brummiegirl15 · 15/07/2014 22:03

Hello Broody!!! fab to see you across from other threads

Isn't it great to feel crappy? :-)

Welcome too macca - I'm due 25th and am pretty early too - I'm 4 weeks tomorrow, have booked my gp appt next Wednesday when I'll be 5 wks

TheScenicRoute · 15/07/2014 22:40

Hi guys,

All this talk of birthing plans is a little heated. I'm not offended, everyone's point seems very valid.

I am a very black and white thinker, I'm aware that I get very disappointed if things take an unexpected turn, so long before I managed to conceive I decided I would NEVER make a birthing plan and simply 'go with it' what ever it ended up being. The only thing I was sure of was that if it wasn't a medical necessity I would never have chosen a c-section. Simply because I can't bare the thought of not being able to pick up my babies on demand in the 6 weeks following the birth.

The fact that I now know the reality of a c-section is quite high has just proven to me that I really wasn't that chilled out after all, lurking in there, there were some deep seated hopes. Ironically, the shaking up of things so very early on has at least uncovered that and will definitely help me to work through things and get to a place where I can hopefully just let things roll the way that fate has lined up for me.

What's all this 'natural c-section' stuff? It sounds very interesting, and a contradiction in terms! If I can get skin to skin contact as soon as the medical team are happy and have done the necessaries, I think that will be half the battle won for me.

Having the screens lowered so I can watch it .... I'm not sure about that! I'm a nurse so I'm not squeamish, but I'm not sure I need that much info! Lol. I will however be having some very strong opinions on the surgical site wound care, I already know the exact protocol of care I am hoping for as it's thoroughly evidence based, and I'm hoping to negotiate that with the surgeon (if I need the c-section that is). Guess I should learn how to spell caesarean without a spell checker at this rate!

Safra72 · 15/07/2014 23:25

Am I alone in having no symptoms? !!

I just had to pee on yet another stick to make sure it's real!!

I know if I get what I wish for ill last a day before I regret it.

I also had no symptoms with ds so I shouldn't be worried.........

fizzyrubbish · 16/07/2014 02:34

Hey Scenic. I have had 4 babies and 3 sections. I won't go into why I dislike sections so much, (PTSD) but am investing in a specific c-section birthing hypnotherapy CD this time round which I've heard is brilliant!

I've managed to pick up and successfully breast feed all my babies within hours of giving birth & in recovery. Personally I didn't go for screens to be lowered but did have
skin to skin almost immediately. Never had any wound infections either.

It doesn't affect bonding at all. Don't listen to any bollix along those lines. I prefer a natural birth but none of my babies have played ball, the 1st one being forceps. All will be well. Smile

fizzyrubbish · 16/07/2014 02:39

Forgot to mention Scenic within a week of 1st section I was picking up baby on demand. With nos 2&3 it was within hours. In fact after baby no 3 (section 2) I was walking the next evening and going round showing the newbies what a good latch looks like!

PickledPorcupine · 16/07/2014 05:48

5 weeks today!

I had the oh gosh where have my symptoms gone yesterday. Dh asked if I was ok and I felt bad because I hadn't noticed I hadn't felt sick all afternoon. They came back with a vengeance at midnight and I'm back to erupting volcano boobs this morning!

Have a good day everyone

notoasthere · 16/07/2014 06:13

m.youtube.com/watch?v=m5RIcaK98Yg for those interested in natural section.

As it is, ds was meant to be a home birth. This baby will most likely be a section. I'm ok wherever my birth takes me as long as I'm in control - natural caesarean is part of that for me. Birth is such a hugely emotive topic, and one that is guaranteed to unearth strong opinions. I posted a thread in the childbirth forum and have had wildly differing responses!

6 weeks today!

dashoflime · 16/07/2014 06:26

Hi, I had a CS last time and was up and walking about the same day. No discomfort at all due to lovely morphine. Defiantly no difficulties picking up baby. Maybe I was just lucky.

Baby had to be whipped out a bit early due to problems with my placenta not getting the proper nutrients to him. Poor little sod was starving in there and came out very weak. Apparently he wouldn't have survived a natural delivery Sad

I've been told this pregnancy will be considered high risk. Just got the date for my booking in appointment so will discuss it with them then.

I've also been very teary. Having some problems at work and not dealing with it the best. Pretty low to be honest. Hopefully things will look brighter once these fucking hormones shift.

bouncesky · 16/07/2014 08:14

I am now 7+1! I've booked a private scan for next week as here I won't get my booking in appointment until 10/11 weeks and then they book the scan. My parents are back off holiday today so we've decided to tell them tonight and then to tell my oh's parents tomorrow night. I had wanted to wait til after the early scan but I see my parents a lot and if I don't tell them they are going to worry about why I'm so tired and will think I'm overworking! All the talk about births is certainly enlightening, although I can't really bring myself to think of anything past just getting to 12 weeks.

ZylaB · 16/07/2014 08:36

I'm the same :) when I get to 12 weeks I think I'll be able to look forward more.. 5weeks 5 days to go!

pinkandstripey · 16/07/2014 08:45

flip hope your dh has apologised for his wobble ((hug)). If it makes you feel any better, it was me that had the wobble when I found out I was pregnant with ds. We'd been trying for a while, it was a very much wanted pregnancy, but I suddenly felt we'd make the worst parents and our relationship was terrible and the whole thing was going to be a disaster. I got over it lol, hope your dh does too x

Newbies please add yourselves to the stats list, last updated on Sunday I think :)

7+2 today, seeing mw next week. Oddly I have no idea whether it's my booking appointment or not! The receptionist spent lots of time saying the mw comes to you for your 1st appointment. Then when they called to make the appointment, I have to go in as mw will want to take blood. Who knows!!??

notoasthere · 16/07/2014 08:50

That sounds like a booking appointment pink. I'm going to be an awkward mare and refuse my booking bloods - I doubt I've contracted hepatitis or hiv in the past two years since they were last done, especially since this baby is as close to the immaculate conception as Jesus was! Wink

northdownmummy · 16/07/2014 08:54

Hi ladies, I've just got home from 4 days camping with hubby and toddler. A brilliant time but really noticed how much grottier I felt when cold and tired.
I need to do a work trip to the states next week, dreading it cause the combination of jetlag and nausea will be delightful. Not to mention long days of meetings and chiming up with create reasons why I'm not drinking in the evenings.

Miffy79 · 16/07/2014 09:02

Hello, can I join too please Smile
Got a BFP on the 7th July (nearly passed out at the shock, after trying for a long time).. due ~13th March 2015.. this will be our first .. so very excited, but also terrified!
Having a terrible time sleeping for the past 2 weeks, along with random aches and pains to freak me out, just can't explain to anyone at work why I look so tired all the time!
