Hi,

Tentative post here - got 2 faint BFPs on Sun/Mon (period only due yesterday.
EDD seems to be between Feb 28 - March 1st depending on whether I use standard 28 day cycle or adjust to my 30 day one.
DC2 for me - DS was 8 days late so think I'm more likely to belong in the March club than Feb.

Will do another test in a couple of days to get the elusive dark line so I don't think I'm making it up

Hope someone else joins me soon.

Pickled and bris where are you both going? Holidays??
I am heading back home to see all the family for my brothers wedding at the end of sept start of oct. Been out here for 7 years now and love it!

Normally, I don't like ginger but maybe I can give it a go, salty crackers seem to work well at the mo!

Popsicle, it is about 4 hours by plane and it is a work trip to present at a conference. It isn't really impt and if I was unwell this week before I could get someone else that is going to do my presentations, would probably just lose the cost of flights etc.

I have been feeling better today so will see what tomorrow brings!

wokeupwithasmile · 13/07/2014 11:00

Hello ladies, can I join please? Have already a 16-month old dc and although yesterday I was really happy to have got my positive line today is a different story! Smile
Dc slept really badly last night, so not a good night for me either, and this morning together with the headache/migraine I found ms waiting for me. Managed to get a coconut yoghurt down and half a glass of apple juice, but can't bring myself to think about food!
How do people with dcs manage to make food for them without being totally disgusted? I really really want him to eat well, but it just makes me sick thinking about planning his meals! Plus the ILs arrive tomorrow and although I hope they will help entertain dc while I am lying in bed cursing my dh for getting me into this state, they will be cooking lots of stuff that I know will make me sick. I did not want to say anything to anyone for some months, but I think they will get it even if I do not mention it, so there you go.
Anyway, I should be due end of March 2015.

wokeupwithasmile · 13/07/2014 11:09

And what really angers me at the moment is that, thinking that I would have to forget about it for a loooong while, last night I put a bottle of prosecco in the fridge, and thought that today I could share it with dh as a final alcoholic drink, but can't stand the thought of it!!! I should have opened it a week ago. Sad Angry

CherryFizz · 13/07/2014 11:11

Hi all, newbie here Smile. Joining after faint BFPs on Wed and Thurs, followed by a stronger line on Fri and a digital BFP 2-3 weeks this morning. Due to a very complicated cycle, I have no idea when we conceived but it looks like it was week one of our honeymoon Wink with an estimated due date of 19th March. I'm delighted but we're trying to be realistic and calm, not getting our hopes up too much. It's an odd feeling! Hoping to keep it quiet till 12 weeks so really appreciate the chance to share here Smile. Symptoms:

Absolutely shattered
Very high appetite
Nausea but no sickness
Tender boobs (mainly to touch)
Lack of concentration
Wind (TMI and DH's least favourite Grin)

Massive congratulations to the rest of you!!

Brummiegirl15 · 13/07/2014 11:38

Oh good lord scenic that's amazing news!!!!! How exciting

Re flights, if all goes well I'll be off to New York at 12+2

I'm still peeing lots (2 night time loo visits again last night) and v bloated. That's it really for me oh and tiredness!! 2 x naps yesterday

pinkandstripey · 13/07/2014 14:33

Hi everyone, hope everyone is having a peaceful weekend :)

Welcome newbies, and congratulations!

Wow scenic!! That's amazing news! What does fraternal twins mean? To echo what a pp said, please don't get too hung up on exactly how your birth will be - cos it won't ever be your 'ideal'. Someone said to me, as long as all parties are here safely on the other side it's a success :)

Any tips on controlling moods anyone?? Is their anything herbal I can take? Isn't evening primrose supposed to do something? Feeling like such a bitch today, ds isn't sleeping too well atm and poor DP is being such a star but I managed to yell at him twice before 9am this morning :( then I cried for about 15 mins.

We need a new stats list, I'll do it this evening if no one minds? - apparently there's a football game on TV tonight?

FoscarC · 13/07/2014 15:09

Hello everyone. And welcome to the newbies.

Twins!!! That is so exciting scenic. My MIL has said for years that she has a feelings that we will have twins. Where she had this 'feeling' from I do not know. But I think twins would be so exciting. But also pretty terrifying! I'm sure it will all be wonderful though.

I survived the birthday party at home. Me and dh somehow managed it so that no one else got me a drink apart from us as so I just drank 'G+T' all night. Got away with it I think - unless my patents notice that the gin hasn't been touched.

Re sickness, I find that I have to just graze constantly. As long as I don't let myself get hungry I'm fine. Symptoms for me are huge sore boobs, queasiness unless I'm constantly eating, extreme tiredness and I am very windy and bloated - burping a lot. I look pregnant already. Hope you all have a lovely Sunday.

Oh, and I think we are all equally worried about things going wrong. I managed to convince myself yesterday that I have an ectopic as I have occasional cramping pain. But I hope hope hope it's all fine.

notoasthere · 13/07/2014 15:47

Hello and congratulations to all the newbies!

Your birth experience IS important - of course having a healthy baby/babies is of utmost importance, but your birth can impact on your success at breastfeeding/whether you develop pnd/your sexual relationships etc This doesn't mean we all need to be umming our babies out in birthing pools, but if we can all have births where our wishes are respected and we are empowered to make informed choices, then that will be a whole lot better than some poor women get

fourmonthstogo · 13/07/2014 17:15

Notoast, I wasn't suggesting it isn't important, of course it is, I just think it isn't a great plan to get hung up on an ideal birth, because so much is out of our control.

notoasthere · 13/07/2014 17:39

I know four, it's just a personal bugbear of mine that so often women's trauma is diminished because they got a healthy baby and they are told they should just be grateful. I think it's still entirely possible to make your birth have aspects you really want even if it veers very far from the path that you initially wished, you just need to be prepared to shout loudly for people to hear you

hlc123 · 13/07/2014 17:42

Hi all, got my bfp last Saturday, very faint but definitely a line! Took another test the next day which was also faint so did another on Friday and it was a lot darker which has reassured me a bit. This is number 3 for us, it's taken us by surprised but very happy. I have had hyperemesis with my previous two pregnancies so I am a bit scared about going through that again, but have adenomyosis which puts me at greater risk of mc so have been stressing about that. Mild nausea has kicked in today and sore boobs, until then I had been a bit worried about my lack of symptoms. Congrats to all the other expectant Mummy's, wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy

FlipFlippingFlippers · 13/07/2014 18:16

Hi all. Got my bfp on Friday morning. Anyone else's boobs massive??!! I'm spilling out of my bra. This didn't happen with previous 2 dc's so I'm wondering whether to buy new bras yet or wait a while.

Ifallelsefailsdrinktea85 · 13/07/2014 18:39

I Got 2 BFP's on Friday and will be 5 wks tues. Today my boobs haven't been sore at all, the past week they have been, so I'm really having a panic today as I had a mmc last dec. I still feel really queasy though but that could be major worry to :( some one please put me to sleep and wake me after my 12 wk scan

Mrsw123 · 13/07/2014 18:51

Guys, has anyone got any tips for morning sickness? I'm trying my hardest to stick to slimming world (ish) but anything remotely healthy- salad and veg- makes me want to hurl. All I want to eat is bread, bread and more bread! And nibble on biscuits every couple of hours cos if i get hungry, i feel sick! But don't want to put on a ton of weight!! Any advice from those on the second time around?

M27J5M · 13/07/2014 19:02

My boobs are massive too flippers! And my tummy is freaking me out, with my 1st I didn't get a wee pot belly(bump) till at least 11/12 weeks, this time round I'm getting bloated by lunch time and getting a proper small bump look, thought I was imagining it till my friend commented :/

pinkandstripey · 13/07/2014 19:31

notoast I wasn't meaning that the birth isn't important :( of course it's massively important, but the point I was making (badly!) is that getting hugely hung up on your birth plan, or rigid ideas of what you want, can be very dangerous, and when it doesn't all go to plan, leaving the woman feeling a failure and at risk of pnd.

Birth plan = birth wish list :)

notoasthere · 13/07/2014 19:44

It's definitely a fine line to tread between knowing exactly what you want and being open to changes - but as long as you are in control of the changes, and are fully involved and leading the decision making process, I think that helps enormously in processing your feelings post birth (because the feeling of loss of control/being ignored/feeling violated and taken over are often the most traumatic factors during birth, whether the birth has gone well or not)

Anyway, the point I was trying to make for scenic was that even though your pregnancy and birth may be very different to what you had imagined, it is still yours, and you are the one in charge of your body - you can still decide what happens to it

mrs - nibbling on dry crackers helped me, but yes, my body is shouting for carbs too!

ZylaB · 13/07/2014 20:17

I do agree about taking charge or having a say in the situation. I've been told I've got a 50/50 chance of having to have a CS. I'll either be induced and see if that works, or just go straight for a CS depending on how things are. But I've already decided that if/when I have the CS I want the screen lowering to see baby actually being born and then skin to skin immediately if everything is ok. I think it's little things like that which make you feel more involved in the process :)

notoasthere · 13/07/2014 20:22

I'm planning a natural section if I do decide to go for an elcs this time round zyla

cunexttuesonline · 13/07/2014 20:38

Hi, congratulations on the BFPs Thanks. Can I please join, I'm pg with DC2 - DS is 5 just now, there will be 6 years between them. I'm due on 22nd March. This was not really planned (we were still deciding if we were going to stick with 1 child - ha) and I was scared of telling DH yesterday Confused but he was fine, am now terrified of telling everyone else and also of going back to the baby stuff again. Symptoms - nausea and sore boobs.

Trondheim · 13/07/2014 21:23

Hlc I had HG last time too, also pretty scared. Just nauseous at the moment and it goes away when I eat. Not looking forward to the real thing Hmm

Glad everyone else is getting pot bellies and it's not just me! WTF! Where have my stomach muscles gone?

Trondheim · 13/07/2014 21:24

Welcome, wanksock o_O
