Hi,

Tentative post here - got 2 faint BFPs on Sun/Mon (period only due yesterday.
EDD seems to be between Feb 28 - March 1st depending on whether I use standard 28 day cycle or adjust to my 30 day one.
DC2 for me - DS was 8 days late so think I'm more likely to belong in the March club than Feb.

Will do another test in a couple of days to get the elusive dark line so I don't think I'm making it up

Hope someone else joins me soon.

Hi cripsandchoc I have been getting bad headaches too, not sure of any remedy so to shift them though!

I keep waking at 2am or 2.20 or last night was 2.29am gahhh so not quite in the 5am club!

Welcome moomaid I was thinking about it a lot at first but trying to chill a bit! worrying won't help or change anything and better to try and be relaxed easier said than done

I am meant to be going to australia this week for a work conference. Really worrying about getting sickness or other symptoms whilst flying and being ill and also being around my colleagues and them noticing! So far no sickness just nausea but not sure what to do! Do I just go and hope I am ok? Really bad timing!!

ohfourfoxache · 12/07/2014 22:31

Mahoosive supply of ginger biscuits, Rainbow?

Erm, has anyone else's belly expanded a bit? As in, a lot? I'm so, so bloated - I look very, very pregnant.

Either it's pregnancy related or my IBS is having another flare up Confused

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 12/07/2014 22:34

Keep eating little and often. If you feel sick the worst thing you can do is avoid food even though that's what you want.

TheScenicRoute · 12/07/2014 22:52

Hi ladies,
Sorry to jump in and crash out, I am SO tired today! I had my early scan today (6+5), it's Fraternal twins! Good lord! Grin

ohfourfoxache · 12/07/2014 23:31

Oh my god, Scenic! Wonderful, wonderful news! Huge congratulations! X

PickledPorcupine · 13/07/2014 01:18

Great news scenic!

notoasthere · 13/07/2014 05:26

Oh my goodness scenic Was there any signs that it might be a twin pregnancy?

Littleturkish · 13/07/2014 06:57

Congrats scenic!

Sickness does seem to be all about blood sugar- so nibbling at food constantly should starve off the wobbly vomitty shakes!

bouncesky · 13/07/2014 07:28

Congratulations scenic!
I have found that always carrying several snacks with me and eating as soon as I feel a little sick gets rid of feeling sick! It does mean I am snacking a lot though. But trying to eat healthy food, apples, bananas, nuts, dried apricots etc

CrispsAndChoc · 13/07/2014 07:31

Wow twins! That's great! Is an early scan usual? I have no idea what I'm doing! I thought the first scan was at three months? I've only just found out that I'm pregnant in the last few days and haven't had a chance to get to the gp yet.

ZebraZeebra · 13/07/2014 07:49

Crispsand choc I also don't know what I'm doing and I have a toddler! I think it's also very different across different HA's so what my GP might do is different to yours. Same here though - pregnancy straight after MC, and haven't been to GP yet.

Rainbow* oh god a flight to Oz, that would kill me. If you do get an morning sickness, could you say it's the travelling/jet lag? I'm always sick/nauseous for days after a long haul flight. It might provide a good cover?

scenic wow congratulations!!!

Popsicle30 · 13/07/2014 07:59

Wow scenic congratulations. Very exciting. Is there a family history of twins?

I woke at 4am this morning and it took me an hour to get back over. I had no symptoms yeatetday and was worried they'd completely gone. They're back today though. Sore boobs, feeling really sick and tired...oh so tired!

I am seeing the midwife on Wednesday for the first time and I assume I'll just have my scan around the 13 week mark. It's my first pregnancy.

Rainbow555 · 13/07/2014 08:03

Congrats scenic

zebra thanks for the suggestion but I am in NZ so only 4 hours from here! So they might not buy it! Will stock up on the snacks though!

Going to uk in sept though so that will be a long haul!!

Rainbow555 · 13/07/2014 08:04

popsicle I am seeing a midwife too on wed just an initial mtg to see if we click have a few others to meet too!

PickledPorcupine · 13/07/2014 08:08

Rainbow I'm going the opposite way to you in October so I'll be after some pregnant long haul flight tips from you! How l

PickledPorcupine · 13/07/2014 08:09

Oops, how many weeks will you be when you fly?

TheScenicRoute · 13/07/2014 08:20

Crisps and choc- I had IVF and it's part of the treatment plan to check that it's not ectopic, so it was routine for me, otherwise an early scan is only for if you have problems... Or you can pay privately and get an early sneaky peek!

They are none identical and I knew that I'd had two embryos put back, so I was always aware of the possibility. The sperm donor has a history of twins but I believe that wouldn't effect me anyway. I'm over the moon! An instant family, and it was my last IVF so it's just a gift.

I'm now trying to readjust my birthing expectations, I'd always hoped fot a midwifery led natural 'listen to you body' birth... Not a chance of that now! 60% chance of the awful c section - that said it could have turned out that way anyway in an emergency. IF we make it passed 12 weeks, and anywhere near full term, At least I have 7&1/2 months to plan how to turn a completely medicalised procedure into something that resembles a personalised birth.

Rainbow555 · 13/07/2014 08:59

pickled I will be 15 weeks by then so hopefully will have had my scan by then and can take my news back to all my family and friends :) also hope I will be feeling a little better or it will allow me to sleep lots!!

fourmonthstogo · 13/07/2014 09:04

That's fabulous scenic, congratulations! So pleased for you, having that scan and finding out that there were twins must have been amazing. From what I remember from my first birth, it's a risk pinning too much hope and expectation on how the birth pans out, what will be will be, and the beautiful babies you end up with are what matters.
rainbow You're in NZ aren't you? How long is the flight to Australia? How important is the trip?

Babytinx11 · 13/07/2014 09:23

Hi guys can I join I'm 5+6 due march 4th by lmp :)

Popsicle30 · 13/07/2014 09:35

Great updates everyone. It's nice getting an insight into how other people are getting on this early in pregnancy...no matter where they are in the world.

Rainbow no choice here regarding which midwife. But she seemed nice on the phone Smile.

I'll be flying in September to Barcelona and I'll be just over 15 weeks then. Only a couple of hours though...no where near as long as you both!

Scenic like you said you have 7.5 months to plan everything. I'm sure they will help you personalise it as best they can. Very exciting on the twins front still.

When I rang to make an appt with the midwife she did ask me if I knew what hospital I'd likely want to go to . It seemed a bit early to me but I think it's linked to the scans and antenatal care too...not just where I want to give birth. We have two health trusts in my area with 2 hospitals I can choose between. With me only being 6 weeks though we haven't really told many people so I can't get opinions and information on their experiences of the two without being obvious! Hopefully the midwife will be some help but I expect she can't advise on which one she'd use! Maybe the closest one...?

Popsicle30 · 13/07/2014 09:36

Welcome babytinx

ZylaB · 13/07/2014 09:39

Congrats scenic

I've got a 50/50 chance of a c section, so we can plan together? :)

Brisgirl · 13/07/2014 09:45

Welcome babytinx

scenic what fantastic news!!!

rainbow good luck with the flights - ginger - candied, biscuits, anything all work a treat for me! And lots of salty crackers.

PickledPorcupine · 13/07/2014 10:27
