Lotsa don't worry, even if it is higher they're not going to throw you in jail for possible smoke inhalation :D I didn't have it at my appointment, but I remember when I stopped smoking my readings were still irritatingly high even when I hadn't smoked for weeks. Pollution, innit.

LisaC2611 · 27/06/2014 09:42

I got the carbon monoxide test at my booking in appointment, I got told its not just to do with smoking though as I have never smoked - or at least not since I was about 18 and that was only every social smoking - the midwife told me that they had actually picked up on a couple whose boiler was leaking and producing carbon monoxide.

I've got my 16 week appointment this morning so will find out whether or not they will test again, although having met my midwife previously I doubt very much whether she will as she was very disorganised!

We heard the heartbeat yesterday at our scan which was amazing to hear again. I'm hoping that the midwife has a listen for it today but not feeling overly concerned if she doesn't as it was only yesterday we heard it.

Still no word from Emily Chilly, feeling quite concerned for her, hopefully she will come back when she feels ready and let us know what is going on.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 27/06/2014 11:36

Just had a letter to say I've got no immunity against rubella so I have to have an MMR after I give birth. Lovely!

PunkyPod · 27/06/2014 11:36

I've not had a carbon monoxide test at all. How is it done? DH was a smoker before kids but was cutting down when we fell pregnant with DD. He was down to 1-2 a day with the help of e-cigs when I went to my booking in app. The midwife put him in touch with a smoking councillor who called him. He explained how he was on the road to quitting and she was happy with what he said. By 20 weeks he had quit and has never smoked since. I'm so proud of him Smile

isambardo · 27/06/2014 11:57

The carbon monoxide thing isn't just for smokers, in Somerset (where I am) the midwife said they have found two women with high levels due to leaky boilers.

To those with mh concerns, I hope you find all the support you need. It's important to keep talking about it.

I have a ds and we only plan to have two so I am slightly hoping for a girl. Two boys would be lovely though so either way is great. I don't think we will find out at the scan as it was such a wonderful and memorable moment finding out last time at the birth.

Emily if you are reading, all the best to you x

I also haven't had carbon monoxide test. Apart from blood tests, pee pot samples and blood pressure (and recently listen for HB) I've not had any other tests, not been weighed - she took my word for it, not been measured, not been poked or prodded, it's almost like a mw is just to check in they don't really do anything (well not to me)

Just wanted to say how impressed/proud/admire of some of you women that have gone throught total shit. You guys are so strong and so they say you're only given what you can handle and you've handled and come out/coming out the other side stronger than ever. insert big round of applause xxx

DrewsWife · 27/06/2014 13:40

how are we all today? im a hormonal wreck. got my blood results through and am low risk for downs. I fell horrendous for even testing in the first place. I should never have done it.

people selection grrrrrr. im being unreasonable I know..

dd turned 18 yesterday and I feel old lol. am only 37. and amazingly her dad gave me £35 towards her party.... generous to a fault eh!! lol.

I start work tonight at 7. so out for lunch with hub and then to Paisley to pick up her id so she can actually drink at her party tomorrow. lol.

htbftm · 27/06/2014 19:56

Hi Drew! Gld u results were good news! You shouldn't feel guilty fir finding out tho - most people do in one way or another! My youngest is 18 too! - it does make u feel old doesn't it! Guess our new additions will keep us young lol! Hope u enjoyed lunch with your hubby?
I haven't felt sick for 3 days! Woo! Unfortunately I've got a sore throat and cold coming instead! But on the plus side I got 4 scan dates through the post this morning for July, Sept, Oct and Dec!

Pepsiaddict · 27/06/2014 20:50

We tested - low risk as well at 1:900 but after a 1:8000 result last time it did seem fairly high risk. After almost miscarrying we wouldn't terminate but we did want to know to make sure that we were prepared and also for future planning (I'd be keen for the baby to have more than one sibling if he/she has special needs whereas we'll stop at two otherwise).
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and the sickness is gone / improved for those that have been suffering.

Shanels · 27/06/2014 21:16

It's Friday!!!

I listened to the baby's heart twice this week and it has been the best sound I've ever heard in my life! I know what you mean punkypod- loving this little life inside of me so much already.

I've got to go back to the hospital next week and get a 24 hour heart monitor fitted because my heart is too fast. I haven't had a good night's sleep since I've been pregnant and hay fever has been the worst this year! However, it's all part of the deal of being pregnant and mustn't grumble.

Sending positive vibes to all of you and here's to a relaxing happy healthy weekend.

Thanks for the support girls. I'm feeling much better today. I'm totally resolved now to letting someone else deal with my sisters drama, I've been doing it too long. I'm choosing me and the bump over her, I'm not going to say that I'm stepping away I'm just going to do it quietly. It feels good making the decision.

I'm back to my lovely pregnancy yoga class tomorrow. Sooo looking forward to it, the stretching is amazing and really made me sleep well last time. Anyone else going classes?

You know I don't have a mw appointment til after my 20 week scan. Anyone else in same boat? Also wishing everyone a well rested and peaceful weekend xxx

Feeling so blank and empty. And like I just want out of my skin (sounds stupid) hoping this MH specialist on Thursday has a solution.

About to head to bed. Not much looking forward to another night of tossing and turning and waking up hourly in pain, plus last night every time I moved I got dreadful cramp right up both legs.

oohdaddypig · 27/06/2014 22:29

catface just a quick one. I got horrendous cramp in my legs in first pregnamcy and tonic water really helped. It's bloody agony!

martie I seem to hardly have any MW appointments either. I have my next one next week and nothing for ages....

My sickness is finally improving at 16 weeks. First vegetables in 3 months.

PolytheneGirl · 27/06/2014 22:36

Catface I heard somewhere that eating bananas really helps to prevent muscle cramps. I hope you're feeling a bit better about things in the morning and you manage some sleep Thanks

Bettycakes80 · 27/06/2014 22:56

I started doing pregnancy yoga at 13 weeks and I'm loving it! Also just had my NCT classes confirmed. Seems ridiculously early to have booked on but I was worried they'd get filled up quickly.

ChineseFireball · 27/06/2014 22:59

Hi everyone Smile have been mad busy this week so have loads to catch up on. Has anyone heard from Emily at all?

No idea what's been happening on here so going to have a proper catch up in a bit.

Hope everyone is doing well, and is nicely into the blooming stage now.

14+0 yaaaaaayyyy!

LotsaTuddles · 28/06/2014 08:30

martie I had a MW appointment yesterday and haven't got another for 6 more weeks when I'll be 20 weeks.

I'm so glad my MW found baby's heartbeat yesterday as I'd have forever to wait.

Not heard from Emily, really hoping she's alright

Littlebear81 · 28/06/2014 10:20

Hi everyone. Been on holiday for two weeks so trying to catch up with you all. Hope you're all feeling ok despite symptoms and Emily knows we're all thinking of her (and hoping she's ok).

Pretty sure I felt movement during the week but haven't had it since. Felt like a popping feeling and different to wind. Has anyone else had this? Seeing MW on Wednesday for 16w appt. Not sure if she will listen to the baby's heartbeat but I hope so.

DrewsWife · 28/06/2014 10:32

morning ladies.

is it possible to feel movement at 15+1 its my second.

im sure im further than this but hub is adament that im 15+1.

if its possible I felt a roll in lower right handside

Somersetgirl1990 · 28/06/2014 10:43

I'm so jealous of everyone that can feel their baby Hmm I'm 17 weeks tomorrow and haven't felt anything at all and I'm getting impatient! My scan isn't going to be until at least 23 weeks either so have aaaages to wait!

I had a dream last night that I gave birth to a child that was about 6 and it kept trying to breast feed Hmm it was horrible

DrewsWife · 28/06/2014 10:51

oh no! I had a dream that mine came out with a cockney accent, flat cap and gold chains. think mini del boy..... hubby has a cockney accent and I just laughed. he thought it was hilarious

LotsaTuddles · 28/06/2014 11:06

Drews

Yes it possible, you can feel it earlier with subsequent pregnancies.

I said to my MW that I could feel very slight movements and I'm only 14 weeks and she yes you probably can because you've had a baby so recently.

PunkyPod · 28/06/2014 13:04

Littlebear that popping sensation is exactly how I'd describe the first movements too.

Drew def possible at 15 weeks. I've felt it since 11 weeks this time.

This baby is seriously active!

CallingAllEngels · 28/06/2014 13:19

Need some advice ladies.

This morning I fainted for the first time ever. Could feel it happening, was changing ds. Yelled for dh and managed to sit on the bed. Wondering if it's linked to low iron levels or to the ridiculous workload and all the stress linked to it that I'm trying to handle atm.

Feel fine now, just pottering round the house and sitting down if I feel a bit light headed. I've had no issues with ms or eating properly during pg (except nausea at weeks 5/6).

Should I call my mw or wait till Monday and get in touch with them then (perhaps send them an emailmin advance). Feel silly calling when I'm fine now and stomach is okay. I'm just exhausted.

oohdaddypig · 28/06/2014 13:50

Hi Calling. Did you properly faint or did you manage to avoid it by sitting? I have very low blood pressure and in pregnancy, I often feel l
