Scan was all good for us but still team yellow as s/he had their legs so tight together and up of their body the sonographer couldnt get a peak. I'm so desperate to know I'm considering going for a private scan next week even though friends and family have told me to be patient.

To ruin my happy scan news I went back to work and just had the rudest member of staff tear strips off me for some brochured I produced. When I suggestef ending the call as we werent getting anywhere shes put in a complaint. Instead of getting mad I sat in the office and burst into tears. Bloody hormones :-(

Loulou888 · 03/06/2014 18:53

Thanks everyone :) fab news bug congratulations. did they say what caused bleeding?

Apparently I have a fundal placenta not anterior which still explains why I didn't feel much to start with but now it's moved up to the top I feel loads.

I don't know whether to invest in a baby carrier. Dd wouldn't go in it, she was a very hot little baby. Ds didn't mind it but I never felt like I had got him in properly. We had a Bjorn sport thing that was bought as a gift.

Loulou888 · 03/06/2014 18:56

Oh binky crossed thread. Congrats on scan our baby had legs, bum all curled up tight too. Sorry to hear about the silly mare at work :( hope all is okay

Loulou888 · 03/06/2014 18:57

Loulou888 · 03/06/2014 18:58

Loulou888 · 03/06/2014 18:59

You've got the green light mum go for it

binkybunny · 03/06/2014 19:03

Haha thanks lou really pleased your scan went well too.

Dying for a glass of wine now. Going to crack open the sparkling grape juice instead but I dont think it has the same effect as a chilled glass of sauvignon!

YellowWellies · 03/06/2014 19:07

Loulou maybe borrow a carrier from a sling library when the wee one arrives (most only charge £10 or so for a fortnight) that way you'll know if he/she likes it before forking out for one?

Blink congrats on your scan...what a naughty devil keeping things under wraps!
And Bugs...so pleased for you after your worry. Now you'll never relax fully I'm sure but do try and enjoy the rest of the pregnancy! Can't wait to see if you are right about girl!

sazzlehopes · 03/06/2014 19:16

Once past 24 weeks I really will worry a lot less - if the worst happened and baby arrives early from that point the docs would try to resuscitate. My niece was born at 27+3 and despite being 1lb 14 at her lightest and in the NICU for 3 months she is a fab 2.5 year old. For me I relaxed once I'd passed that time last pregnancy. Hope I pass it this time too!

Congrats on the scan news ladies!!!

Although we are team yellow / green - I also think it could be a boy. Because my consultant went "oh we don't want to go there" when he gave me a quick scan at 18 wks. Although at anomaly scan there wasn't anything obvious down there so now I'm not sure - but I wasn't really looking as will be thrilled whatever!!

It's funny re the pink and blue thing too as ds favourite colour is pink!!! I find it quite funny as he picks out pink shirts and tshirts (my husband likes pink too!) and when reading pirate Pete's potty, he always picks the pink potty as his favourite and the pink frilly pants!! Otherwise he's very boyish - obsessed with trains and cars and diggers!! He actually really suits pink and one of my fave tops is a bright pink one for him.

So - bit confused about the city jogger now. So can you make it rear facing?! But need to buy and extra bit for it?

Fedup I think if you use the bassinet or car seat on it then it can be parent facing, but as soon as they are big enough for the pushchair bit then they forward face. J was a bit of a choker and for months I wouldn't dare give him something like raisins or even an apple if facing away from me - as he could choke and I'd not notice. Bizarrely the baby jogger city select double manages to allow you to arrange both seats forward or backward facing but I don't think any BJCM singles can do that? It is genuinely the only thing I don't like about the range. They are awesome and the one hand fold is amazing! I have a nipper 360 which is a great offroad buggy for walking the dog - forward facing only and I used that from 10 months once we got the dog.

And as much as you think 'oh I'll just not feed them in the buggy' snacks are a godsend at preventing meltdowns when waiting for the bus, in the queue at the supermarket etc. Because of that - I'd also go for a buggy that has lots of washable bits!!!

Congratulations to bink Loulou and buggerlugs- glad all is ok now. Im enjoying showing off the bump and Dp adores it and says its very cute. I have my scan in 2.5 hrs mixed feelings about it...

Hope everyone is having a good day/evening location dependant

STIGZ · 03/06/2014 20:29

Congratz on scan news everyone, hope everyone can relax a bit now if thats possible?

I have mine on friday.. Feeling very nervous !! I too have not bought anything - i have browsed prams online and decided on one or two essentials that we will purchase, i am organised in my head, need to get this house move over with before i can get excited i think??

Thanks for advice on pgp! I have slowed right down today & what a diffrence in pain levels !! Deffo have been burning the candle with both ends but with no alchaol or late nights involved !! Boo :(

I am absolutly gasping for a whole bottle of procsecco! .... My push present better involve a case of something expensive & loaded with alcohol (",)

ohthegoats · 03/06/2014 20:39

I reckon that the bassinet thing for a month or so, and also the car seat option will do for facing me. After that if I was a baby, I'd want to be facing NOT me!

To be honest, I also like the cost of the baby jogger - I looked at the Stokke I tried this morning online, and it's almost £1000 - I mean, REALLY?!

LondonJen · 03/06/2014 20:59

Porcito I can't believe you won't be going for a further 15 kids Grin

Great news Buggerlugs

Our starter set arrived today, so outfit for home is covered. The teeny hat is sooooooo cute!

Kirstipops · 03/06/2014 21:03

Yaay lovely to hear about the good scans today! Starting to buy up some bits to keep together in a box, so far I have my star baby wrap, 3 "dribble bibs" and a tube of Lansinoh! But no box to put them in yet! Haven't seen any I like so think I'll have to make my own one. Next on my agenda is to properly study my emailed suggestions from Nappy Lady and start to buy up that kinda gear!

Loulou888 · 03/06/2014 21:49

Ahh yes bug that would explain it! Good luck pusscous and everyone else due a scan shortly.

sazzlehopes · 04/06/2014 07:29

Bugs there's nothing wrong with orange green red etc for whatever sex! You will always find a few that think it's odd you don't stick to pink/blue everything... We didn't find out for ds the first time and bought loads of lovely bright coloured unisex stuff or black/white things that are neutral. That way if we were lucky enough to have a second (as we are indeed now!) it wouldn't matter what flavour they were and we wouldn't have to buy anything again...or change what we'd bought for the nursery etc....
Enjoy buying a few bits, and you're right it saved me a fortune as I didn't go on a crazy shopping spree!

mrsb87 · 04/06/2014 08:01

We're finding it a nightmare trying to find neutral clothes, went to a few shops and if it wasn't pink or blue, it had an aeroplane on it or butterflies or something on!
I've been studying my 20wk scan photos and I've convinced myself it's a boy. I'm sure I can see 2 little white hot spots in the appropriate area! 23wks+1 today, can't believe it!
Good luck pusscous!

binkybunny · 04/06/2014 08:10

We're considering going for a private scan on Daturday morning as we really want to know. It's 80 and no guarantee we'll find of if s/he is still laying in the wrong position.

Would you go for it or am I being hormonal and nuts? DH has told me its up to me. Not very helpful!!!
