Good luck today bugs and anyone else with a scan today.

Seems the baby jogger is pretty popular in this group. I have one from my 2 year old and will be using it again for this one. I have the pram attachment so baby can be rear facing to begin with. I've loved it. Totally perfect for our lifestyle... And can't afford to be buying another so glad it's still in good shape!

hefner · 03/06/2014 10:14

I'm going to reuse the mammas and pappas sola I used for DD, just need to dig it out of my parents' loft! I switched to a McLaren when she was about 18months and still use it occasionally now. I'll probably do the same with the new baby.

I'd like to get a second hand off road buggy as well, to use for long countryside walks. I just used the sling if I was going off road last time, but that might be more difficult if I need to carry stuff for baby and dd, and bend down to help dd pick flowers, look at snails etc! I'm looking out for a bargain on Gumtree.

Oklahoma · 03/06/2014 10:44

Struggling to keep up with the buggy chat, it's like a foreign language! Where is the best place to do research?

We've done absolutely nothing towards baby thinking yet. No names, thoughts about buggies or anything! Please tell me we're not the only ones!?

Does anyone have a good list of what we need to think about please?

19 weeks today so hopefully still have plenty of time but I can see the weeks disappearing very quickly!!

Good scan news here. Huge relief! Team yellow! dH got his way baby wasn't playing ball so nothing obvious to see. Let the shopping commence all suddenly seems real in a strange way after worrying over scan :)

bumpbangbump · 03/06/2014 11:06

Congrats Lou!

Congrats lou and good luck everyone else!

We have a Mothercare Xtreme for DD which we'll reuse for DS, it's the size of Lincolnshire but great off road and really manoeuvrable to boot.

Does anyone gave experience with buggy boards for toddlers? Think DD would enjoy riding on one but worried she'll jump off into a busy road or a pile of dog poo, she's really hyper sometimes!

binkybunny · 03/06/2014 12:40

Less than 2 hours to go until our scan and excitement has turned into being petrified!

To keep my mind occupied (other than being really busy at work!) I have been working out how many week until maternity leave- 11 weeks if I finish just before my weeks hol for my sisters wedding or 13 + 3 if I come back and work until the end of my contract. Not sure I can be bothered coming back for a week and a bit after a weeks holiday!

Pinkie2103 · 03/06/2014 13:51

We have a Bugaboo Cameleon (bought for us by my MIL) which I love. Easy to steer (esp. with one hand), large bassinet for when they are little and I was actually amazed at the amount of space in the basket as I walked everywhere for the first 18 months or so. I also really really liked the fact it was rear facing

Re slings. I tried a peanut shell sling with my son but both of us hated it so bought an Ergo with infant insert and never looked back (he was still using at 2.5 years old). With my newbie though I am planning to use a wrap to start with

Don't have my 20 week scan till next Tuesday and then see the consultant the following Tuesday

puppythedog · 03/06/2014 14:05

Marking my spot in the thread and wanting to wish good luck to all those scanning today and particularly Bugs after her scare.

All the talk about buggies an I'm a bit nervous about having given all responsibility to my Dad Grin still he knows as much as we do so sod it. Just have to choose to like what we get Smile.

Loulou888 · 03/06/2014 14:11

I'm sure you will bugs look forward to seeing your news along with binky we did some buggy shopping after the scan and going for a maxi cosi.

Happytimes31 · 03/06/2014 14:14

puppy, I think that might be easier, decision taken out of your hands!

tak1ngchances · 03/06/2014 14:46

We're taking my sister's Bugaboo Cameleon and putting new canvas covers on it. So all I have to do is choose a colour! That makes things a bit easier.
The bits I don't like about the Cameleon have been mentioned here already...no footbrake and very hard to access the basket while it's in pram mode.
But considering I am getting it for the cost of new covers (about £80) I can't really complain!

LondonJen · 03/06/2014 15:14

Great news Lou

Oklahoma think it's mothercare that has a good list of what you'll need, sorry I can't get on it to check

Was just thinking I was a teeny bit less tired than yest, then remembered dp walked the dog this morning as it's his day off so that's probably the only reason and will be stuffed again once I do his evening stroll. Eugh. Sorry to be a whinger. Must buck up!

porcito · 03/06/2014 16:31

Congrats lou!

I still keep putting off buying anything. Hopefully after Thursday's scan I'll feel better and can start spending!

mum2kiss, MIL has offered many ideas from her kidnapping the baby and keeping it (erm, no) to me never going back to work and raising 16 of her grandchildren. Not for me unfortunately. The only way I'd be able to have longer would be unpaid, but as my job is my visa for over here, I couldn't quit altogether. My school is British, so really understanding, so if I'm still a mess (fully expect to be) after 6 weeks, I'm sure I'll be able to sort something out. The government give you an hour a day off work to breastfeed, can't help thinking they'd be better giving everyone an extra month!

ExcitedCJ · 03/06/2014 17:07

Oh Portico that's 3 of us on Thursday for scans so far.. Myself, you & Yellow I think.
I'm not purchasing anything until Thursday either. I have lots of stuff sitting in baskets on several Internet shops, ready to go on Thursday. FX all is OK.

ohthegoats · 03/06/2014 17:20

I'm going for the City Mini Baby Jogger (or whichever order those words go in) - will get a maxi cosi car seat on loan that fits on the frame, and a carrycot thing that fits it too on loan from someone else. I want one with 4 wheels rather than 3 wheels though, which is harder to find on ebay. I'm down south and genuinely ebay watching one on in York.

Having said that, I tried a Stokke out today at work (someone in my class's mum just had a baby), and it was light and lovely to move around.

Fab news! Bugger that's awesome!

Anyone getting a baby jogger won't be disappointed - they've lasted best amongst my pals and one who has been thru five (yes five!) pushchairs in 18 months stopped at the baby jogger. I'd have got it apart from you cant do parent facing.

ExcitedCJ · 03/06/2014 18:32

Bugger I'm so pleased that all is well. :) Yayy

mum2kiss · 03/06/2014 18:48

Great news bugs!

So my weekend away that stemmed from my mum offering to take Dd away for the weekend is coming back to haunt me! She dropped home yesterday and announced that she was up until 11pm each night! Dd has been a crying emotional mess since my mum left. I'm calling it he crash and burn! Cheers mum!

I really like the baby jogger...but also have a problem with it being non parent facing.

I've got real buggy fever right now. I really want one! I just don't know which one! Dp has basically said "ignore my mother and go get you own buggy" Lol!
