Hi all, I struggle to keep up with this thread! Having exam doom and have been cramming so haven't had much time to pop on and catch up. Hope everyone is okay and feeling a bit more glowing lol xx

Good luck for tomorrow buggerlugs. That's one of the reasons I went for my panic scan last week (for about the 50th time - I was never this anxious when I could drink bottles of wine). It was fine, just old blood, my placenta's a bit low too which can cause old blood apparently.

We just got back from visiting the MIL. What a treat. Her face when I told her I was putting the baby in daycare at 6 weeks made me think I'd actually said I was going to eat it for breakfast on its 6 week birthday.

Had the breathlessness this weekend, feels like I've been running up flights of stairs instead of sitting on my arse watching TV for 20 weeks.

mum2kiss · 02/06/2014 23:23

Will you have to return to work when the baby is 6 weeks porcito? Will you be recovered fully from birth by then if you have a c section? Makes UK maternity leave seem super amazing!

porcito · 03/06/2014 00:35

They give you 45 days before and 45 after, which is rubbish! I don't want 45 days before to just sit around being large and hot so will try take as much of it after as I can.

I'm lucky that my work are really understanding, so if I'm not recovered I hope they'll be giving me something so I can afford to eat! I can't believe how quickly people are expected to go back here. Poor DP's boss thought he was being generous when he said he could a day off after the birth.

Loulou888 · 03/06/2014 06:42

Been up since 2pm with a poorly dd. so tired. Hoping I can get someone to look after her whilst we go for scan this morning.

Loulou888 · 03/06/2014 06:43

portico that's not long at all :(

Scan day today. So excited to find out if we are team pink/ team blue.

Good luck to all other scan peeps too!

mum2kiss · 03/06/2014 07:00

So what does your mil want you to do with the baby when you have to go back to work porcito?!

Good luck to all the scan people today! I have a consultant appointment next Tuesday because I'm sooooo fat lol! Here's hoping I get some extra scans thrown in for my troubles!

Bumpforme2014 · 03/06/2014 07:01

Good luck with scans today ladies, I told my boss I would like to finish on 12th sept, hoping to get my MATB1 form on Friday when I see consultant so that I can make it official with HR. Once I get back from holiday at end of June I fully intent to be on countdown :-)))

I'm stopping end of aug! Can't wait! Ds is going to new nursery / pre school (afternoons) hence why leaving so early as didn't want to sort childcare for mornings for just a few weeks.
porcito wow - 45 days?
That's hard. Also agree I wouldn't want the 45 days before either. Seems a bit the wrong way round!

Good luck for scans today. I'm on leave today and typically wide awake before ds and already been outside with DH to talk about building plans and what strange lingo I need to use when the builders turn up to dig the foundations this morning. I've no idea what's going on but going to try! Just got to remember - perfect new space for new little one and hopefully get me through this few months of chaos!

magichandles · 03/06/2014 07:28

45 days! That's really bad - are people able to save holiday/ take unpaid leave if they need to?

DC2 has had his preschool place confirmed starting 25th September which is great, all I need is for DC1's school to confirm which site she is starting at and hopefully a start date (I'm hoping to be able to grab a few days away before she starts) and I'll feel a bit more in control.

Good luck to everyone with scans today.

claptomania · 03/06/2014 07:45

Good luck scan folks!

Loulou888 · 03/06/2014 07:57

Good luck everyone with scans I'm really nervous. Fingers crossed all is okay. Even dd wants team yellow.... Well unless it's obvious I suppose that's what we will be!

mrsb87 · 03/06/2014 08:25

Ugh, I feel like utter poop today! Dh has given me some kind of lurgy overnight and I've woken up with a sore throat, sneezy and completely exhausted. Great!
Good luck for people with scans today, I hope you enjoy it and it gives you some comfort Smile

ExcitedCJ · 03/06/2014 08:33

Mrsb same here, horrible throat, sore head, sinus area all puffy & sore. Sneezing like a crazy woman all day yesterday.

Good luck scanners, only 2 days until mine. eeeek!!

YellowWellies · 03/06/2014 08:35

Good luck scan folks!

Porcito that's awful! Things are just starting to get easier at six weeks once you're out the other side of the early growth spurts Sad .

mrsb - same here on the cold, sniffing, sore throat. I wondered if it was a variant of hayfever though, since stayed at my mum and dads in the countryside last night.

Good luck scan folks - Loulou - ask them to tell you when to close your eyes if you want to stay team green!

Thanks london sorry for moaning just needed to let it all out! I have day off today and dc in school/nursery so will be able to relax and hopefully catch up on some sleep.

Can't remember who asked but I have a babyjogger it's a good run around for our toddler and compact but gettig a different buggy for baby. We are now looking at the urbo2 from mamas and papas.

I've got a load of annual leave I need to take before mat leave so I think I'll finish start of august. I would stay longer but can't cope with 13hr shifts on my feet all day plus trying to get into all kinds of positions to catch babies with a bad back a big bump in the way isn't going to work!

Happytimes31 · 03/06/2014 08:56

Thanks everyone for buggy recommendations. Now thinking of adding the uppababy to the bugaboo list... Sporadic movement here too looking forward to it having a bit more of a routine but you don't need to worry until after 24 wks do you?

Ah interesting Smile which bugaboo as the bee seemed to have a footbrake although in an utterly impractical white colour! I agree with the basket and also having to put things in from the front...not sure that is a great design.
Oh so tricky!
