Just had total pregnancy rage today- got home to find the builders made a mess - in taking the roof off all the stuff came through the open windows. That coupled with our cleaners doing a shit job. Hormone / nesting thing overload - can't deal with mess!!! Sent arsey message to cleaners and then yanked out the Hoover and duster and went on a rampage. Not what I wanted after long day at work! Feel a bit of a bitch now but having to clean after someone you have paid to do it isn't right. Right?!

binkybunny · 11/06/2014 20:49

I've used inspiration from yellow and put together and 'me and daddy' pack with a pack of extra strong coffee, baby bath wash, baby bottle, my first fairy tales book, whisky (obv not for baby!) to wet her head and some choccies just because he's a chocoholic!

fedupofrainydays · 11/06/2014 20:57

Ps. Thanks london. It was surprisingly quite a big deal for me to purchase something! I think fear of missing out drove me to do it!!

gunwalloe · 11/06/2014 21:07

YellowWellies · 11/06/2014 21:45

I can't wait for that moment again when a teary DH tells me what we've had - it's magical and worth a pregnancy full of uncertainty as to boy / girl.

Eeeeek, we just bought a buggy. City jogger (4 wheels), cosy toes thingy, front bar etc. £146 on ebay. Happy with that! First baby purchase... and I think, apart from moses basket, the only one we actually need to make. Rest being borrowed. Yay!

Anyone hear the Mila Kunis rant on Jimmy Kimmel's show? One of my little annoyances too!

ExcitedCJ · 11/06/2014 22:43

Very good goats, I enjoyed that.

mum2kiss · 12/06/2014 07:45

Oh my goodness I've got up this morning with some ridiculous pain in the vajayjay area!!! Ouch!

25 degrees today ladies! Blooming hot for us preggers!

Had 20 week scan yesterday, we're having another girl, but that was slightly overshadowed by one of the measurements. Her nasal bone measurement is short on one side and the scan report calls it hypoplastic, which is one of the markers for Downs. I don't have any other markers but my Downs risk has increased to 1/600. I appreciate this is still low, but the way the consultant explained the diagnostic options (she was basically saying that they wouldn't recommend amnio as I was over the NHS cutoff, but that was a pure economic cut off) made me think I need to get it checked out so I'm going to book the Harmony test today.

I'm calmer about it this morning, it looks like my hospital is one of the only ones that takes this particular measurement at the 20 week scan as part of a research project they are doing, so if I wasn't booked there I wouldn't even know about it! But I still need to know, and feel better having decided to go for the Harmony (plus I'll get a repeat scan as well) as I don't think I can go through the next 4-5 months with this hanging over me.

I know it's low risk, but I need to get it checked out. I had listeria with DD1 and that was a far lower risk (there were 9 cases of pregnancy related listeria in England & Wales the year she was born out of over 700,000 births) and I can't get that out of my head.

ExcitedCJ · 12/06/2014 08:05

Magic hope the next couple of weeks fly past for you. I understand your stress & I'm sure most people would do the same. As you rightly say 1:600 is still really low but I'm sure the Harmony will give you more assurance. A slight of a hand can take measurements off & again, it's not a widely taken measurement which is under study. Try to keep busy & will be thinking of you. X

tak1ngchances · 12/06/2014 08:13

magic are you going to the FMC for your Harmony test?

ohthegoats · 12/06/2014 08:14

Is it bad to have planned to eat a Magnum the moment I get out of the glucose tolerance test today?

ohthegoats · 12/06/2014 08:17

Oops, how trite.. sorry magic. If you get the chance, go to the FMC for the Harmony test - mine took 6 working days to come back (admittedly the second time I did it, first time not enough baby DNA), which is better than waiting 2 whole weeks.

magichandles · 12/06/2014 08:52

Yes, I'm going to go to the FMC - it's the same guy who is Head of Fetal Medicine at my NHS hospital so the sonographers will be trained in this particular measurement.

STIGZ · 12/06/2014 09:02

Thinking of you magic

weeonion · 12/06/2014 09:41

magic - hope it goes well. x

magichandles · 12/06/2014 09:45

Thank you everyone, I do feel better for having a plan to be honest, I feel more in control.

CellyD · 12/06/2014 11:02

Magic I hope the next week goes really quickly for you.

tak1ngchances · 12/06/2014 11:17

The FMC is brilliant, I have had all my scans there and found them incredibly detailed and thorough. Best of luck, I hope that everything is fine. As other people have said, 1:600 is still very low, like 0.1% chance. So 99.9% your baby is fine. Will be thinking of you.

ohthegoats · 12/06/2014 11:47

Has anyone else got to have the GTT?

If so, it's not very nice... well, it's fine, but the reality of not having any food for 17 hours at 24 weeks pregnant isn't very nice. Nearly keeled over, did stumbling in the waiting room and got given an iced bun by the nice people in the Friends café!
