Haha mum2kiss. I was clumsy and oaflike before, now I'm just a walking mess of a human. I've forgotten keys, names, appointments, my age. I forgot an entire class of children the other day. Hopefully it disappears when the baby's here or I can see me leaving it being left who knows where.

porcito · 06/06/2014 03:49

Just back from scan - we are STILL team yellow lightly tinged with pink. AARGH. The baby this time was sitting down, then crossed its legs, then turned around. It's so shy! So, basically, the doctor said 90% sure it's a girl, though it could just have a giant clitoris. Lovely.

Either way, more importantly, its femurs are growing like they should be, and it isn't behind any more - huge relief.

ExcitedCJ · 06/06/2014 07:22

Portico great news. Glad scan went well.

binkybunny · 06/06/2014 07:27

Isnt it frustrating portico ? I'm just hoping baby is a bit more lively and wanting to move on Tuesday! Glad to hear all's ok though!

So... did the self hypnosis thing the night before last and actually had a reasonable nights sleep. Didnt do it last night as late to bed and dont think I slept more than 2 hours. Why I didnt try when I couldnt sleep I dont know but really wishing I wasnt in work today :-(

DH keeps telling me its good practice for when baby arrives but I keep pointing out that atleast I wont be commuting an hour each way and trying to make my brain function to the level I am now!

pinkfizzsparkles · 06/06/2014 07:29

That's good news portico one less worry! Have you got anymore scans to confirm sex?

Definate baby brain here. I keep forgetting what I'm talking about when I'm teaching. The TA even commented yesterday on how forgetfull I am!

fedupofrainydays · 06/06/2014 07:35

Baby brain here! I can't remember at work if I've asked questions or not. It's awful!!

Glad scans are all going well. Giant clitoris?!

mrsb87 · 06/06/2014 08:05

Baby brain here too, keep starting conversations and forgetting what I'm saying half way through. it does get very frustrating!
I'm off work today, phew! My poor tootsies need a rest.

Oklahoma · 06/06/2014 09:48

Baby brain is terrible! It's like someone has removed my brain. I can't hold a thought for more than about 30 seconds. How are you all coping at work? I'm still off because of the sickness but really don't think I could make my brain work if my life depended on it!!

ohthegoats · 06/06/2014 10:21

I'm always a bit of a div when it comes to words and being a clumsy oaf, I haven't noticed much difference... in fact, it might be better because I'm consciously trying not to act like a dipsy pregnant woman.

The swelling thing is weird - my left leg, where I had a DVT 15 years ago - is always prone to swelling, but I hadn't noticed it doing anything until yesterday. I spent the day sitting down at a desk though, instead of running around and standing in a classroom, so it would have swollen up whether I was pregnant or not.

Quite funny this morning - nice relaxing start because I've got a day off. Baby doing its nut when I woke up, but calmed down after a nice shag - whatever hormones flying around at that point seem to make it good and sleepy. Then I got in the bath while boyfriend started hammering the skirting boards off in the room next door - the hammering reverberated through the bath, and woke up the baby with a massive start, who did a MASSIVE kick and practically shot out through my belly button. Something like alien.

Hello ladies. Am 22+2 today and everything's going well. Just had a momentary panic that I thought of share & seek opinion. On Wednesday evening I got a bit of brown sticky discharge. Just a one off. No pain, feeling movements. Last week there had been a similar thing of pinkish discharge. It's not drops or blood. Just the regular thing but tinged with pink/brown. Hospital have asked me to see the GP & I have booked for Monday. Meanwhile did any of you have this, this time or previously?

My placenta is anterior so movements are feeble to feel. Getting worked up coz of that too!

mum2kiss · 06/06/2014 10:38

I'm finding shagging a bit samey these days. My bump is too big for dp to not squash me, plus pgp forbids the opening of the legs! So we're stuck with one or 2 positions! Roll on October (or maybe December lol!) So it can all get back to normal!

mum2kiss · 06/06/2014 10:40

Yep I had pink spotting artistic. My doc was not concerned and it has since stopped

ohthegoats · 06/06/2014 10:58

Oh yeah, shagging is not terribly exciting in terms of positions. Me on top really, just because otherwise I tend to end up flat on my belly (which I can't do anymore), and he doesn't manage to keep totally off the bump, which I can't do anymore either. I feel pretty good about my body at the moment though, the bump has filled in any squishy areas of my gut, so I'm not ever thinking about how it looks. Boyfriend seems to quite like that to look up at.

mum2kiss · 06/06/2014 13:09

No body confidence issues here at the moment either! Big is the new sexy lol!

mrsb87 · 06/06/2014 13:30

Maybe it's because we have no control over our bodies any more that we just think "bugger it!".

Everything looked ok at scan ... So relieved:). Sun is shining here so a good day indeed !!

porcito · 06/06/2014 15:11

Congrats stigz!

Here we have monthly scans so luckily I'll get to see in a month's time! The old ladies at work are devastated. I could see them itching with their pink wool but (thankfully) they'll have to put it away for some more interesting colours!

buggerlugs same here. Everytime we go, I can see DP dying to ask the doctor if that rule's changed. I refuse to ask as she's a mum of one of my students so already weird enough!

mum2kiss · 06/06/2014 15:12

Great news stigz :)

There seem to be a lot of ladies with anterior/low lying placentas on this thread. Do they know what causes this to happen or is it just one of those things?

tak1ngchances · 06/06/2014 16:17

Your placenta forms where implantation took place. So for me, the blastocyst implanted at the bottom of my uterus and I have a low-lying placenta.

Mind you when I told my mum that I had a low- lying placenta, she said "oh it'll be awfully dry in there and the baby must be very hungry".
I think we know sooo much more than the generations before!!

I'll be 36 weeks when I leave work. I am taking 2 weeks of holidays, that brings me to 38 weeks, then starting Mat Leave.

mum2kiss · 06/06/2014 16:38

I'll be 37+4...cutting it fine but hoping I'll get a week or 2 at Home before baby makes an appearance!

mrsb87 · 06/06/2014 17:31

I'll be 36wks but taking a weeks holiday so official Mat leave will be starting at 36wks.

mrsb87 · 06/06/2014 17:32

37wks, stupid auto correct
