Argh bleeding gums!
That is all :-(

ExcitedCJ · 04/06/2014 23:02

Hi Bump I am flying about twice a week at the mo. I was asked by Easyjet on Thursday ( was particularly tired after a long day & bump was fully extended!) and I just said 20 weeks & the guy nodded & said OK that's fine.

Eeekk. I have BIG scan tomorrow, starting to get the jitters now. I spent all day doing creative stuff with DD to keep busy. We made Mars Krispie Buns, made a fancy lunch, did some paper plate artwork, made a vat of Spag Bol for dinner, played Lego, both had a sleep & did on line shopping for some clothes for her. I'm now mainlining Krispie buns & drinking decaf tea until it's coming out my ears! Aaahh. Hope I sleep.

Kirstipops · 04/06/2014 23:08

Loulou my dad bought a pump action water pistol for skooshing magpies in the garden. That's why he saidhe bought it anyway!

ExcitedCJ · 05/06/2014 00:00

Re thoughts on BIG scan the night before. I feel a little like I'm in Blackadder 4, where they were stuck in the trenches & I'm about to go over the top! Not sure what I'll see tomorrow & I hope we all come out unscathed on the other side!
Night all..

binkybunny · 05/06/2014 06:51

Gender scan booked for Tues as DH is working Sat. Hope s/he is in the right position this time!!! Any tips for getting the baby to move? We seem to have a really lazy baby!

Good luck today cj hope all goes well.

fedupofrainydays · 05/06/2014 07:03

Good luck today cj

I'm flying next sat (14th) and will be 23 weeks. Are my notes ok to prove how far I am or do I need matb1 form (not got that yet and next mw appt not til 28 wks)

Bumpforme2014 · 05/06/2014 07:03

Thanks for advice ladies, will bring my notes with me, hoping to get MATB1 tomorrow when I see consultant as haven't got it yet.

How exciting binky, drink a bottle of full fat coke before scan to wake baby up, mine doesn't move much in scans either but luckily legs were open. I think the private scans give you more time then NHS ones and will suggest a few things.

fedupofrainydays · 05/06/2014 07:03

Drink a glass of cold water binky! The only one I have apart from prodding!

Mbo33 · 05/06/2014 07:23

I had a coffee before my 20 week scan, binky. Baby wriggled and jiggled, gave the probe high fives and thumbs up! The sonographer spent the whole scan pleading with it to stay still....... I was wanted to see it move, hence the coffee. Didn't dare admit my ploy of coffee to the poor woman who was a trainee and clearly struggling with its antics. Our scan pictures are all blurred, and not the sort that people say awh at.
Team yellow here, with a rather fidgety baby :) think it'll be like its dad!!
Good luck today CJ.

Loulou888 · 05/06/2014 07:47

Good luck cj

Anyone flying as long as you hard back on uk soil before 38 weeks you just need to carry your notes with you incase they ask to see. If you fly after 28 weeks or cons back to U.K. When already 28 weeks you need a letter from the doctor.

kirstie great excuse lol! Think ds has one somewhere

Loulou888 · 05/06/2014 07:47

Oh dear excuse typos stupid phons should say Land and come

ohthegoats · 05/06/2014 08:56

Cold water or something sugary. That's how I finally got boyfriend to feel it move last night!

ExcitedCJ · 05/06/2014 09:25

Thanks all, only 2 hrs to go! Confused

Oklahoma · 05/06/2014 10:18

The baby finally kicked for DH!!

Good luck for all the scans - another 2 weeks until ours. I'll be almost 22 weeks by then but apparently that's the earliest they can do Sad

fatpony · 05/06/2014 10:30

For those who already have children, what do little babies actually wear?
M&S has 20% off today and some of the stuff is very sweet - I like babies in the long sleeved/legged babygros but do they wear the little bodysuit ones underneath (I mean the ones with short sleeves and no legs) so they have a double layer on? Or are the short sleeve bodysuits meant more for summer? Or are they meant to just have a cardi on top and trousers?

Confused! Thanks.

Bugger you have it spot

fatpony · 05/06/2014 10:57

Thanks buggerlugs, that was kind of what I was thinking - so they basically have a double layer of: bodysuit (short sleeved and legless) under the long sleeved and long armed babygros...

Someone should write a guide to this!

I'm going to do some sewing too for my baby, just pouring over the gorgeous knit (stretchy) fabrics available for children.

LondonJen · 05/06/2014 10:58

Yey for baby's kicking for their Dads! Love it!

I enjoyed the Secret life of babies Kirsti tho it made me a big pile of gooey mush.

I don't know if it's a tip but mine was moving about so much they asked if I'd had Lucozade for breakfast!! So maybe worth trying the orange stuff?! I actually had raspberry jam on toast and a cup of tea for breakfast so maybe sugary jam/caffeine is enough?

Aw, man I just spent £50 at M&S a few days ago! Typical!

Fatpony yes to double layer for winter, that's what I have gleaned anyway. Bodysuit (no sleeves or legs) under sleepsuit/babygrow (long sleeves and legs) tho I think it was Yellow also suggested getting some long sleeve bodysuits too for when it's very cold. Presumably you could go trousers and top instead of sleepsuit tho?

ExcitedCJ · 05/06/2014 11:03

Oops!! Posted early! Bugger you have it spot on!
My LO wore long sleeved bodies in winter & short sleeved in summer underneath a sleepsuit/babygrow, preferably with feet so no faff with socks. She mostly lived in those until 6 months as I was too lazy to mess about with little outfits. She wore a cardigan on top and a hat when cold. When I found my rhythm a little better I started dressing her in little yoga pants & cute tops from Polaran O Pyret (?) as they washed well & were very easy & looked mega cute. No girly colours, red, purple, navy & green mostly.
Hope that helps..

My Dd received a LOT of clothing as gifts. I didn't get hung up on colours etc as I was more concerned about making sure she got to wear the items before she grew out of them (they grow SO fast!). I kind of felt like Dd looked like she was going to bed if I dressed her in sleep suits when we went out so I put outfits on her then. Mainly little t shirts and soft trousers like leggings, and light dresses as it was summer. This time around I might use plain sleep suits for bed and the ones with nice designs for day time. If we get given a lot of clothing again I'll do the same and just make use of them whether they look gender specific or not...We always used a vest underneath the sleep suit or any other clothing she wore.

mum2kiss · 05/06/2014 11:37

bugs I like to look of the starter sets in m&s. I'll probably get two of those and then a separate pack of 7 vests (as they usually end up with poo seeping over the edge...and up the back...and nd over the neck lol!)
