To be honest we haven't really thought about it, anyway I'm not sure we could afford it right now. Does if have to be done at a certain gestation?

Bugaboom · 05/06/2014 17:43

We also managed to get tickets (after an annoying 2 hour wait yesterday only for them to halt sales because of an inefficient system). Can't wait, never been to secret cinema but have heard great things

Camsie30 · 05/06/2014 17:43

Blizy they recommend having it at 10 weeks. At the Foetal Medical centre on Harley St it's £400

Some places do one called nifty that is about £300. I think it's pretty much the same thing. I'm going to phone our nearest clinic and ask them what the difference is as I really want this done

RPopz · 05/06/2014 18:06

Wow Chinese that is a bumpy bump!! Mine kinda looks like that at bedtime but not first thing!

haquoi123 · 05/06/2014 18:14

That's an impressive bump Chinese! I just about can feel a bump but no showing yet.

anyone got a food that makes the ms better? Mine seems to be fruit, juices and general sugar. Apologising to my teeth daily!

Haqoui fruit absolutely repulses me right now! Can't go near the stuff. Carby crisps and biscuits are what I've been eating to curb nausea however now even they make me heave a bit to think about!

RPopz · 05/06/2014 18:30

Mints are a good one here too. And full fat coke! - I'm apologising to my teeth as well....

KeepOnPloddingOn · 05/06/2014 18:36

I have realy bad indigestion that is making me wanna spew! Any tips much appreciated?

For ms in general i dont know anything that help other than dizzy drinks, which I normally never hve.

Monstamio · 05/06/2014 18:48

I had a weird craving for bacon with HP sauce today. Luckily I had some in!

Not enjoying fruit and veg, apart from tomatoes. Still on the toast with marmite as a staple.

And yes, mints! In fact, any sour sweets work.

fancyacupoftea · 05/06/2014 18:57

Gosh it's been so long since I've posted that the thread disappeared from my list! I have been reading and keeping up with everyone's news though.

Chinese I've had a massive bloat since the day of my BFP but it just won't disappear entirely now which makes me think it's part bump. Yours looks like a lot bump though! I did some searching though on google about whether a bump is possible this early and I read something nice: "Even if it's not an actual baby bump, it's a bump caused by the baby" so I've embraced it after that! Apart from at work obviously when it's baggy tops.

9+3 for me, loving salt and vinegar crisps!

Saraswati · 05/06/2014 19:33

Monstamio I'm obsessed with sour things too - sour skittles are the best!

Spent the afternoon with my friend and her 4 week old baby. She didn't guess anything about my pregnancy actually told me I looked skinny (in your face DH) but I am knackered now. That will be my life soon, I'm not sure about this whole baby thing now!!

ViviPru · 05/06/2014 20:03

I think the difference between Nifty and Harmony is that Nifty is sent to labs in China and takes a bit longer to return the results than Harmony which is tested in labs in the USA. I think.

sunshineandbiscuits · 05/06/2014 20:08

For me, digestive biscuits are the stuff of life. I eat three before I even move in bed in the morning and that really, really helps. Getting up and moving around before I've eaten equals instant nausea. I'm also craving ready salted crisps - I went to Tescos the other day and came home with 2 six packs - one for home and one for work! I'm really enjoying fruit and fresh veg as well - just can't stand creamy things or hot drinks (bizarrely). Overall I've been pretty lucky though with manageable nausea and no actual throwing up (yet). 9 wks today...

camsie we didn't get to see the insemination on a scan for our IUI - it wasn't ever discussed. Sounds cool though! Which clinic did you use if you don't mind me asking?

Minibagel · 05/06/2014 20:11

I like the granny comment about worrying being like a rocking horse. We are all just trying to pass the time to the 12w scan. I don't like to think i'll be safe once I've seen a heartbeat as if it is not to be that could change at any time, I know it reduces the odds etc. but I keep thinking I could be the unlucky whatever % even if I had scans every week.

Time passes so slowly from bfp to 12w scan doesn't it? At first I thought it was going fast but it is dragging now (8+2).

Anyone else just need short term goals to focus on? Like mw apointment, early scan (if you're having one), 12w scan and anything coming up in your diary in between? I definitely do.

When it comes to baby bloat bumps, mine is definitely here to stay. I went swimming today and not been for 2 weeks. My costume looked so different one and I've lost my waist. Who cares if its gas, its definitely not uterus or baby yet. Be proud of your lost midriffs, I say!

RPopz · 05/06/2014 20:17

Don't want to contradict you Viv but aren't they blood tests? Then I doubt very highly they're sent abroad to be done because that would cost an absolute fortune! x

ViviPru · 05/06/2014 20:21

Oh man, Minibagel time is drag-ging. It's reminiscent of the lead up to our wedding when it felt someone had pressed fast forward and it was careering out of our control, but only the other way round. Like slowly wading through thick porridge.

I'm using Thursdays as my short-term goal, every Thursday that passes is a whole 'nother week since LMP. I treat myself to a google of foetus size and whatnot every Thursday morning. My scan is next Friday - I have a feeling this is going to be my slowest week so far!

Minibagel · 05/06/2014 20:24

Yes vivipru wading through thick porridge indeed.

I got the written confirmation of my scan a week on monday, in the post today. Even though i've read the info sheet before for our first baby I'm going to save it for bedtime to have a read before I go to sleep and then have some nice thoughts about what it'll be like if all goes well

ViviPru · 05/06/2014 20:28

I could very well be wrong RPopz but I'm pretty sure I've read that a couple of times on official sites - I'm frantically googling to try and find my source but there's quite a bit about it on the MN Antenatal Tests/Choices board...

ViviPru · 05/06/2014 20:29

Also, it stands to reason that the being sent abroad aspect is why these tests do cost a (comparative) fortune!

RPopz · 05/06/2014 20:32

No you're right, I just found a leaflet online... That is crazy!! Must be extortionate prices Shock
