So exciting all the scans that are booked over the next few weeks...

The stats

Hope that works?!

No wonder the NHS don't do it Wink

ViviPru · 05/06/2014 20:36

Ooh would you mind linking to the leaflet please? It's been doing my head in trying to find the info this time round!

It was on the Glasgow Centre for Reproductive Medicine website Viv. Can't link my phone doesn't like copy and pasting!! Angry x

ViviPru · 05/06/2014 20:42

Ah cool, thanks RPopz I'll google it.

I think it won't be long before it completely replaces invasive procedures within the NHS. Hopefully by the time some of us are on our next pregnancies!

ViviPru · 05/06/2014 20:56

I found it:

ARC website info about NIFTY and Harmony

LuluJakey1 · 05/06/2014 21:06

Feeling much better today. AF feelings have gone - thanks for the reassurances last night.

No nausea today.Even managed cup of coffee near me but couldn't drink it. It tasted totally different.

Almost 10 weeks- can't believe it.

All my clothes still fit. Hurrah!

Minibagel · 05/06/2014 21:09

That's interesting. Surely it wouldn't be as expensive as that to have uk hospital labs test the blood for this test, if you take off the postage costs and profit element? Madness that the nhs doesn't take this on, it would save loada in amnio/cvs as a positive harmony test would mean there was no need to test further?

If I get a high risk for the nuchal test I might consider this rather than amnio/cvs, would 12-14 weeks be too late do you think?

Dec2013mummy · 05/06/2014 21:10

Lulu glad you are feeling better. I have been offered the testing for downs but turned it down, as I did with Ds. I can see why people would want to have it but I decided that it would t change my decision to have the child so I would rather not stress myself through pregnancy thinking about it if it was positive. What will be will be :)

I'm thinking similar, Minibagel.

I can't seem to find any information regarding when might be 'too late'. On the UDS site it states tests can be done from 10 weeks then their tests increase in price from 12 weeks....

I'm guessing there's some kind of trademark/ patent issue on the tests which is why they need to be sent away. I doubt its technology that doesn't exist in the uk. x

I'm not sure we'll test for Downs, it wouldn't change either of our minds. My main thing is that the child isn't going to suffer extortionately. Other than that, we'll cope no matter what.

It's amazing all the different types of foods that people are able to eat! Is anyone also feeling sick from non-foodie things? Like, I think of the baby and feel sick... :s

haquoi123 · 05/06/2014 22:19

Just reading back my post and it sounds judgemental - not my intention at all, sorry! Sometimes it's good to know what you're dealing with and I completely accept that everyone's decisions are their own and valid.

ViviPru · 05/06/2014 22:38

I've just spent waaaaaay too long on the Antenatal Tests/Choices board and now officially shitting a brick. I'm off to have a stern word with myself.

Thanks Madrigals. [thanks ] I know it, but sometimes you just need to hear it from someone else too!

It has made me think seriously about our plans to tell our close friends and family the weekend immediately after our scan on the Friday though. I'm now erring towards waiting until after we have screening results. Just to take the pressure off.

Camsie30 · 05/06/2014 23:50

Sunshine I went to Fertility Plus, they're on Harley St, the Homerton and Spire Roding. Dr Gudi is a miracle worker! He did the procedure at LWC

LuluJakey1 · 06/06/2014 06:25

Morning all,

DH woke me up this morning to get me to listen to thenoises my stomach was making. It was exactly like a frog! Same noise, over and over with a pause between. Confused

I' m hoping it was the dreaded wind. Otherwise, what on earth am I going to give. birth too? Shock

Have a good Friday everyone.

LuluJakey1 · 06/06/2014 06:26

to not too, and no full stop. GRRR!

CallingAllEngels · 06/06/2014 06:30

Lovely to hear all you stories. Here's mine...

DH and I met 8 years ago while travelling in South America. After a year long distance I moved to his home country (NL). W got married 3 years ago, when I was pg with DS (3 in October). Took us 20 months and 1 mc when trying for DS. We started ttc DC2 in July last year and sadly had another mc in October, then had to wait a few months to try again because of my hormone levels(HCG was going up for a while longer than usually). Got lucky 2nd month of trying post-mc.

I'm a secondary teacher. Was ready to leave education after 3 years teaching in the UK but love my school and students here - so glad I didn't walk away from it. I'm 33 and DH is 41.

Re: testing. We will not have the nt test done.

Scan and booking in this morning in an hour.

10+4

CallingAllEngels · 06/06/2014 06:32

Grin lulu

Probably your bowels. I was convinced I had movement at 13 weeks last time. The mw smiled and told me it was my intestines!

LuluJakey1 · 06/06/2014 06:35

It was really funny. We were lying in bed just laughing, waiting for the next frog noise.

Has stopped now thank goodness. If it had gone on all day, don't know how I would have explained that one in a classroom. Smile
