Tams I know exactly how you feel. Nothing takes my fancy and just when I think something does, as soon as it's infront of me I don't want it anymore - to the point where it makes me feel sick. Also, everything just tates funny at the moment. Water seems to even have a funny taste to it. Does anyone else find this?

We have our booking in visit this coming Sunday (at home). This is my first pregnancy so I'm not really sure what to expect. Especially with her coming out to us will she takes bloods etc?

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 02/06/2014 13:34

Can anyone tell me how I go about adding my self to the stats? I've tried clicking the link at the top of the post but I can't seem to edit the table? Confused

HenriettaTurkey · 02/06/2014 13:37

Mslad - that's hilarious! I'm innocent, guv, I tell ya! Wink

Oneday - I tried editing on iPhone and iPad but had to go old school with a laptop. Have you tried that?

HenriettaTurkey · 02/06/2014 13:37

I just called a laptop 'old school'.

There's something wrong with me!

gingysmummy · 02/06/2014 13:38

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 02/06/2014 13:43

Henrietta I've also tried on the iphone and ipad and am now at work on a much more old school (some might say ancient) PC and still can't access it strangely?

Dec2013mummy · 02/06/2014 13:46

Hello all.. I haven't posted for a few days but have been keeping tabs on everyone's news :) congrats to everyone who has had positive scans. I have a midwife appointment in half an hour, it has changed already since having Ds last year as they came to me last time. Would have been helpful rather than dragging poor Ds along. Ms is now driving me mad!! Dh is back at work today (teacher) and really could do with him around :) it makes me realise how golden he is.

On a completely different note I have just put an offer in on a new house as we sold ours a few weeks ago and have been looking for our dream home since. Think we have found it... Now just need to agree a price!

Lulu - I think I would be giving DH a smack round the chops if he wanted us to go skiing with a week old baby! What ifyou go 2 weeks overdue? What if you have a difficult labour and are alid up for a while?! For the first month I didn't go further than intomtown and for a whiz round the park - the first 4 weeks were exhausting! And how quickly will you be able to get a passport for DC?!

For all the holiday discussions, last pg we were about to book a road trip across Canada when I got my bfp and reckoned a month of sitting in a car would not be very comfy at 6 months pg! We ended up having a lovely week in the Lakes and a few days in Yorkshire and Kent (which was abroad for us we live in the Netherlands). Went to a wedding at 33 and a half weeks pg in the UK as well, but that was the latest I travelled (drove and ferry rather than flight). Our first trip to UK was when DS was just over 2 months old. This time we are driving down to meet dsis and bil in France mid July and have a wedding in October in the UK when I'll be 29 weeks (also a BM, dresses already bought but chosen by my best friend who knew we were ttc and I might be pg!).

You must be delueved looking . That's how I feel as well, past the time I had my mc and have seen a good heartbeat/right size for dates so am feeling very positive Smile

Scan on Friday and booking in appt then we can properly tell everyone (though every man and his dog seems to know!).

I've decided to go back to UK in 2 weeks to tell my GPs myself and see some of my friends. And spend some povely time with my dm and dsis.

HenriettaTurkey · 02/06/2014 14:46

Lulu, does your DH know that most first children are late? Usually about a week? (mine was +9)

Also, the first couple of weeks there will be very important midwife visits, a heel test, etc. And that's assuming you are released from hospital straight away. If you have had an EMCS, it's not unusual for the stay to be around 5 nights.

Sadly, I think he needs to rethink this.

LulusMiniEgg · 02/06/2014 14:55

Don't you worry we will not be going skiing! I think he just wants us to be 'fun' parents and not make excuses for things like a lot of his friends do. I'm sure once the baby arrives he will be exactly the same as they are - completely smitten and not want to leave the house. He is fab with kids and really will be an amazing dad x

suzu1982 · 02/06/2014 15:03

hi everyone,
been awol for a while, feeling so rubbish that even turning my laptop on has seemed too much hard work.
had my booking in apt last week, just waiting for the date for my scan and apt with consultant.
ms is making me miserable, i can't even stop feeling c**p long enough to shower properly.
sorry for the downer post, feeling really sorry for myself atm :(

Monstamio · 02/06/2014 15:06

Hi everyone, been keeping up with all the goings on, but haven't posted much of late.

I am really hoping that the tales of MS peaking at 9 weeks is true, as I'm currently 9+5 and the past week has been horrendous. I ended up having to take last Thurs off as I was just so sick I couldn't concentrate on anything but keeping my stomach inside my body. And nothing seemed to help food-wise. Starting to feel a little better today (dare I say it?!), but it's been grim. Sorry to those who have it all to come.

My booking in appointment isn't until next Thurs when I'll be 11 weeks. It's a good job I'm not completely clueless. Can you imagine turning up and only learning then that you should have been taking folic acid for the past three months and avoiding pate etc? I was also a bit worried about getting the next scan booked in time, but I've spoken to the midwife who is going to get the ball rolling on that before she sees me.

Loving the idea of all these holidays! We've got a fortnight in France in July and I can't wait.

CallingAllEngels · 02/06/2014 15:31

Grin lulu

Sorry to hear you're feeling so grim suzu and monsta

Frances79FirstTime · 02/06/2014 15:42

Feeling very distracted today as have our early scan at 9am tomorrow - had some very odd dreams last night so bound to only get worse tonight.

By my very (very!) rough estimate I could be 8+5 but honestly could be anything from about 6 to 10 weeks so will be nice to get a more concrete idea. And to actually see something in there - I still just can't actually quite believe it at the moment.

It's my husband's birthday today so hoping tomorrow will be a lovely birthday present for him! Will let you know how it goes!

Mslad · 02/06/2014 15:44

sorry to hear so many of you are feeling so grim- it must be such a struggle! Thanks

Is anybody else suffering from restless legs? It's keeping me awake for hours every night. I read its a common thing in pregnancy, but I thought it was usually third trimester.

Lulu lol- we've also had those discussions about how we'll be cool fun parents....I suspect we'll look back and laugh at how naïve we are right now....

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 02/06/2014 15:52

Mslad I actually work in a sleep referral centre and restless legs syndrome (rls) is very common in pregnancy but can also be a direct result of low iron levels. Have you had them checked recently? It's something your GP might not necessarily check for if you present with RLS but may be worth requesting?

Commiserations to those feeling rough, please go and get anti sickness meds aid you are bad. I was so reluctant but they have enabled me to actually get up in the morning and go to work. Although I have good and bad days I'm not sure how I would have functioned without them!! And yes I'm hoping 9 weeks is the worst, 10 weeks tomorrow for me :)

lulu my DH is the same, he wants us to take the baby to festivals and gigs and be those cool fun parents. I'm on board in theory but I know in practice things could be very different!! He's also decided the baby is a boy and is going to play for his beloved everton Hmm

Mslad · 02/06/2014 16:06

thanks oneday I had some tests done when I went to my gp after my bfp, my iron levels were fine. My vitamin D levels were low though- do you think there's any connection there? It's beginning to strike as I watch tv in the evening and keeping me awake through the night Angry

livvy we are in the south too (I'm a southerner he's a scouser so I don't really get the whole football thing) so I doubt the baby will ever get to see much everton action but I'll let him dream :) DH used to have a reading season ticket when they were in the premier league so I'm sure the baby will see much more of reading but it's his dream for his child (boy or girl) to play at goodison.

Mslad · 02/06/2014 16:38

madrigals the dr told me not to, which I thought was strange as the levels were quite low. He advised to sit out in the sun, but erm, there's not too much of that Smile
