Tams congratulations!! you won't be able to get an early scan on nhs unless you are referred by your gp. A lot of ladies here are paying for private scans for peace of mind Smile

rumisyum · 14/05/2014 21:29

Good luck for the scan tomorrow, scoops. I hope it's good news. And good luck to you too, mademoiselle!

Chips and golden syrup! Well I never. Confused Nice one, linda!

I loved that link, bed. Hilarious because it's true!

LadyCottington that is adorable. Aww, bless your husband. Smile

Brummie do you normally have quite short cycles? Or are you counting 3 weeks starting from conception? That's a marvellously early BFP you've got there otherwise!

saras I have a CB digi saved up for the start of next week before my GP appt, at which point I hope it'll say 3+ weeks! Otherwise, I've been very restrained. Wink Just done a couple so far.

Sorry to those of you feeling sick and rubbish. One of my friends seems to be wishing nausea on me. Hmm Which I know is well-meaning as it's meant to be a good sign and all, but I'm a total vomit-phobe, I'm quite happy with my sore boobs for the moment! takes everything back in case of jinxing things

Had acupuncture this evening. I do love that slightly stoned post-needle feeling. Smile

Dec2013mummy · 14/05/2014 21:29

Sorry to hear about your day scoops I will be thinking of you x

Congrats to all the newbies Grin so excited for everyone

Let me tell you ladies... Please do not wish for morning sickness. I had hyperemesis last time from day one until 2 days after giving birth! Not fun! I was petrified of having the same again but up until yesterday had just been feeling sick, TMI but today I have been sick 5 times now (way off my record of 127 in 48 hours last time) but starting to worry me a little. Had to give Ds a sneeky peek and a quick kiss while he sleeps soundly just to remind myself it's all worth it!!! Urrrrgggghhhhh! Sorry long post and very self indulgent!

RPopz · 14/05/2014 21:33

Bloody hell 127 in 48 hours! How were you even alive after that?? Must have been horrendous for you Sad Fingers crossed its not going the same way this time!

I have a sore throat all of a sudden!! Angry Is this a pg thing???

Glenpip77 · 14/05/2014 21:36

Fingers crossed for tomorrow scoops x

Had my booking appointment today - forgot how long they took, make sure you plan in a couple of hrs and prepare to be a pin cushion Smile.

At 6+1 and still no sickness - which is hopefully a good thing?! my main niggle is headaches at the moment - not good when dd is going through a "pretending to be a noisy dinosaur" phase!

Dec2013mummy · 14/05/2014 21:37

Ha RPopz, well I think in still here!! I was on an iv drip though for 5 days!! I had 8 stints in hospital for iv drips and started slow labor from 29 weeks (gave birth at 39)! Trying to teach on between was fun, as you have probably guessed I was not in work an awful lot!! They don't like me much!

Dec2013mummy · 14/05/2014 21:38

glen the 'trying to be a noisy dinosaur' made me laugh a lot! Brilliant Grin

fancyacupoftea · 14/05/2014 21:39

Yes RPopz - I was mega bunged up and had a sore throat when I got my BFP at 4something weeks.

My right boob is killing me. It's like a burning inside my sideboob. I had a lump there a few months ago that was checked out and normal and it disappeared. Hope the bastard goes away, I had to keep self-boob-grabbing at school. Not on the list of appropriate behaviour.

Hi ladies. I'm new to this but pregnant with number 2. Due on 12th jan. Hope everyone is feeling well! ??

Saraswati · 14/05/2014 21:40

Thanks j200 I'll definitely hold out now I think! only just over 2 weeks to go. Great that you get another too before 12 weeks, must be a nice reassurance after going through fertility treatment.

Oh dec2013 that sounds horrific! I really hope you don't get that again. I've only been sick a few times so far but definitely not wishing for it!

Hello to all newbies!

excited for mw in the morning even though I know I won't find out anything exciting, I'm looking forward to being 'official' ! Off to bed now, sleep well all!

rumisyum · 14/05/2014 21:40

Egads, Dec, that sounds utterly horrible. Everything crossed this pregnancy is different & it doesn't get that bad for you again!

Congrats, tams! I'm having a scan at 8 weeks, but mostly cause at that point I'll be with my mum who lives in a different country, & it'll be a nice way of including her when she'll be so far away for much of it.

LuluJakey1 · 14/05/2014 21:46

Hi everyone.
I am 4 weeks with 1st pregnancy. Am 34, nearly 35. Saw GP tonight. Have long standing underactive thyroid so will have consultant led care, and rh-, DH rh+ so I will also have injections later on.
No real symptoms yet except oddly emotional and a bit scared.
Have an ecstatic DH who is going to drive me mad with all his research and advice- pregnancy expert.

Glenpip77 · 14/05/2014 21:51

Dec - that sickness sounds awful, fingers crossed you have such smoother ride this time.

My daughters latest noisy dinosaur trick is to hover outside the bathroom door while you are in the loo (which I am a lot nowadays) and then jump out and roar at you as soon as you come out! I blame Andy dinosaur adventures on cbeebies Grin. All you first time mums have these delights to come Smile

deuscat · 14/05/2014 21:59

j200 great to hear your scan went well.

Scoops so sorry to hear about your day. Really hope the scan goes well tomorrow.

LadyCottingom I'm not having an early scan either. As starbright said, what will be will be...

I think my tiredness has hit now. Also the bloating is reaching scary new levels! Anyone have any ideas of how to lessen it?!!

EnglishGirlAbroad · 14/05/2014 22:12

My boobs def feel bigger and more sore at night. In the mornings not much at all. Anyone else have this?

lindamagoo · 14/05/2014 22:16

Has anyone continued temping since getting their BFP?

fancyacupoftea · 14/05/2014 22:16

Yes English! Sore during the night too then I wake up and it's all fine again. Cycle repeats etc.
I've even started going to bed with a pillow to spoon to stop me going into my front and crushing my baps. Really looking forward to those full body pillows!

OP posts:
EnglishGirlAbroad · 14/05/2014 22:28

I literally cannot wait for those pillows! In fact I'd like one now!! Smile

Linda- I stopped as I didn't want to know if the worst was going to happen, temps signalled it last time. Ignorance is bliss approach here.

fancyacupoftea · 14/05/2014 22:32

Yes English I need one now to rest my bloaty belly on! Tuck it in at night.

scoops I missed your post before I posted, sorry - really got my fingers crossed for you and sending well-wishes your way.

Congrats tams1uk! glad my DH (what exactly does DH stand for?) isn't the only one. I've been saying 'just let me enjoy the day that I find out I'm pregnant, I don't want to worry about the what-ifs, I want to celebrate and get excited and chat about it.' all the caution makes me doubt myself and the possibility of it all.

Brummiegirl15 · 14/05/2014 23:44

Hi RumisYum yes I have ridiculously short cycles - anything from 23 -26 days but usually about 24.

Every single month, and it actually really worried me.

However I just took a First response AND a clearbue digital yesterday and both straight away - BFP - but AF wasn't due until weekend, only did on off chance as had some spotting.

I'm worried about being so early, but hey everyone as to start somewhere

rumisyum · 15/05/2014 06:20

Brummie that sounds great! My cycles are short too - about 25 days - so I was just thinking you probably need to add some days to your count as the 4 weeks thing is based on an "average" 28 day cycle. So you're probably a few days further along than you think. Smile

Feeling like an emotional crazy lady this morning. Fun times! But equally feeling super grateful for that. After all, today we are pregnant. Smile
