I need to keep reciting the mantra! Freaking out last night because my boobs were fine, didn't feel sick, SYMPTOMLESS! Spent so much of yesterday thinking about babies after the booking app I'm worried I've jinxed myself! Boobs hurting again this morning and had to get up in the night to pee so I'm holding on to that!

I'm pretty tempted to start crocheting the bean something... I can only do straight lines so a blanket would work well haha! Grin

Hugs to everyone feeling vommy. Thanks Thanks

Good luck at the scan j200 x

RPopz · 14/05/2014 09:29

Saras I have actually had the same thought about my dog! He's a cocker and he's sooo needy... currently centre of everything so a baby will be a shock to the system for him! Apparently it works if you withdraw from being the main "carer" gradually throughout the pg to get them used to you being less involved... but the thought of that breaks my heart!

lindamagoo · 14/05/2014 09:30

I'm lucky though as my boys are good, bit hyper but well behaved and I don't have to go far when I feel like this as the nursery is at my front door as is the play park and a huge field Smile

Saraswati · 14/05/2014 09:47

rpopz I have two Pomeranians (totally outing myself again!) one of them is very needy, I think the other will be ok. Weaning them off me gradually sounds like a good idea. They currently sleep in their beds under ours at night and the needy one always jumps on the bed in the night and snuggles up to me, definitely going to have to gradually move them out of the bedroom at night and make them sleep downstairs but it'll break my heart!!
My mum has a cocker she is gorgeous! And so good with kids, my nieces and nephews torture her and she's never snapped or growled at them once. I'm worried because my dogs don't see children very often, but hopefully as the baby grows they'll get used to it. I've got my booking in tomorrow and am worried about jinxing myself too, I haven't felt sick or been sick today and am feeling crampy :( but then I did get up at 6am and eat a crumpet so I think filling my stomach up a bit helped.

Lots to worry about and DH just sent me a really sweet text and I had to go to the toilet at work and have a little cry, I'm a total mess today!!

j200 · 14/05/2014 09:58

Ahhhh good news ladies!! 6+1 scan saw baby and heartbeat- was amazing and feels real now as I'm not having major symptoms either. Soo so happy Smile x

j200 · 14/05/2014 09:59

Will try and post pic when get home tonight

Thanks for all your support, this is such a lovely baby bus :)

Shallan · 14/05/2014 10:03

Morning all. 6 +2 here and very very nauseous.

Mint tea and mint toffees are working well for me so far, bit of an unconventional breakfast but I go with what works!

Wondering if anybody has advice about bras - I normally wear underwired but my boobs are very sore now, especially on the sides. Maybe I should get something softer?

Shallan · 14/05/2014 10:04

Oh great news j200!

Saraswati · 14/05/2014 10:20

Wonderful news j200 !

MelMc73 · 14/05/2014 10:38

Yay...shiny new thread! Welcome mendandmakedo!

I wasn't going to bother taking DH to first appt but he's defo coming to the scan.

Suffering headaches quite a lot at the moment.....most annoying! Getting some tiredness during the day then perking up again in the evening. I've been going to bed really early though - about 9pm and waking up about 2am! Frustrating as I can't get back to sleep very easily. Ended up reading for 2 hours last night! Is anyone else having sleep trouble?

Took DS to his swimming lesson last night and lost the plot at him when he was getting changed afterwards. He wouldn't open the cubicle door and I was literally screaming at him to do it and he kept refusing! Got myself in a right state and one of the other mum's came to calm me down and ask him to open the door and he did! I only wanted to check why he was taking so bloody long - nightmare hormones! He's been grounded Grin.....I did say sorry for screaming though Blush!

suzu1982 · 14/05/2014 10:58

morning all.
i've been seeing people talking about the booking in appt. i know it's the first contact with the midwife, but what happens?
since this is my first pregnancy i've not really got much of an idea of what i'm doing, so thank goodness for mn lol
rumisyum i'm going to a hen night next month, but it should be just after my 1st scan. i'm just worried about staying awake long enough to enjoy it
loving the idea of a baby journal too, was thinking about writing a letter a month to put in a memory box. think i saw it in a film... or i might be making it up, considering how my brain is working today lol
hope it's sunny and beautiful for everyone else like it is for me in scarborough :)
S*

lindamagoo · 14/05/2014 11:15

j200 that's fab news huni Smile

lindamagoo · 14/05/2014 11:16

Shallan defo get softer bras, I always switch to non-wired when pregnant, even try and get a sports type bra for more comfort and support

Shallan · 14/05/2014 11:18

Oh sports bras, good idea! Already have some so will try that today

lindamagoo · 14/05/2014 11:21

Much more comfortable with sports bras, I ended out having to sleep wearing them the last twice cause my boobs were so sore

ilovelamp78 · 14/05/2014 11:59

Great news j200!
6 weeks today and I'm wondering how it is possible to feel nauseous and ravenous at the same time?

Camsie30 · 14/05/2014 12:34

Fancyacupoftea how do I add myself to the fact sheet? X

rumisyum · 14/05/2014 12:37

Aw, wonderful news, j200! So pleased for you. Smile

Good suggestion re being on medication camsie. I might try that one. suzu1982 I'm a bit worried about staying up all night as well, but I think I'd feel more relaxed about it all after a scan.

fancy I was just being really rubbish! I'm sure yours will knit up much more quickly. Wink

saras I think our cat is going to get very miffed when there's a baby. She's incredibly spoilt as we've basically treated her as our baby for the last few years. She's not going to like taking 2nd place to a tiny mewling creature!

Naps are starting to look more and more appealing over here...

rumisyum · 14/05/2014 12:43

Oh and Bilbo, I think it's just pregnancy. All sorts of things are happening like your blood volume is increasing, which causes weight gain even at such an early stage. I would try not to worry about it too much. I know my body's already started going much softer, even though I'm exercising pretty much the same. You're doing what you can by eating well & exercising - I think we all just have to try to trust our bodies to do what's best for the babies. And then we can (hopefully!) reclaim our bodies for ourselves once we've actually had them. Smile Did you make the appt with a dietician that you were thinking about doing?

EnglishGirlAbroad · 14/05/2014 13:03

Ahhh glad the scan went well J200 Smile

I don't feel at all pregnant today. Nothing. To the point i feel like i'm imagining it. Plus i still have some brown discharge.... Had it since before I got the bfp, although it has changed. It was very much like the end of AF before I got the BFP, now its more like creamy cm but a slightly brown colour. Not going to lie is worrying me, but theres nothing I can do. Just glad I'm seeing the Dr on tuesday. Sorry for the woe is me post. Need to think positive thoughts. Today I am pregnant

Saraswati · 14/05/2014 13:27

rum I have a cat too (crazy animal lady over here) but she loves DH and usually avoids me so hopefully won't have a problem with her. However since I got pregnant she won't leave me alone! She's never sat on my lap ever and now she's permanently stuck to me, I wonder if she can sense it?

Be positive english I'm sure if it's not red blood it's ok but good to ask your gp about it. I've felt ok today, no nausea just a bit tired, there seem to be good and bad days which of course worry me. I went and bought a cb digi to do in the morning before I go to mw just to check I'm still pregnant, I feel like a fraud!!

bedsidemanor · 14/05/2014 13:45

Congratulations on your scan j200

Sorry you're having worries english - hopefully the gp will be able to put your mind at rest

I saw a great list on Buzzfeed which thought I would share 29 Things You Learn During Your First Trimester - lots of true things there!

We haven't told anyone yet (waiting til we see our parents in a couple of weeks) but I was so tempted today after one of my colleagues told me I had to help move some tables as she was pregnant! Angry

sleepisforthetired · 14/05/2014 13:54

Yay for the scan J200 must be pleased :)

English can you ask to see a GP sooner? Hoping everything is ok

Sorry - I did type a longer message, but managed to delete it and due off lunch now - will be having a look at that site later bedside :)

Saraswati · 14/05/2014 14:04

Love the link bed Grin

RPopz · 14/05/2014 14:31
