Welcome littlecat!
I'm super nauseous today and feel so bloated. Wish I could go back to bed!!

littlecat123 · 22/05/2014 12:33

Thanks Linda. Just my hormones getting to me I think, realised today my early bird appointment is on a bank holiday so rang them up and they'd got it wrong so I now have to wait till the 9th of June! And that's not even my booking appointment so no idea how long I'll have to wait till a scan. Just seems as if there is no interest or help for me as I'm 18 and my first pg. Also had to go to the hospital about a lump in my breast which is none cancerous but 4cm in length and getting bigger due to pg hormones Sad so may have to have surgery in my second trimester because they can't put me under general anaesthetic this early or remove it by the vacuum excision because then I may not be able to breastfeed. Was also sad getting an ultrasound on my breast and not my belly felt like trying to persuade the woman to give a quick check for me!

EnglishGirlsReturned · 22/05/2014 12:37

No new EDD Looby as they can't accurately date me yet. When I go back they should be able to tell me exactly how far along i am.
Welcome Little, sorry you're not getting the right support, can you not book direct with the midwife for your booking appointment?

littlecat123 · 22/05/2014 12:50

Hi English, I'm not sure that I'd be able to, I think the process where I live is you have to go to the early bird appointment which is a group session where you just get leaflets and forms to fill to be able to get your booking appointment. Thinking about just asking DP if we should just book for an early scan just for piece of mind.

EnglishGirlsReturned · 22/05/2014 13:19

That's stupid!! I'd still call and see. But an early scan might help put your mind at ease until then.

lindamagoo · 22/05/2014 13:30

Oh little I hope all goes well when the time comes for getting the lump removed. And don't allow people to treat you different just because you are young, you deserve as much help and respect as the oldies like me, lol

suzu1982 · 22/05/2014 13:47

i've had to crop my scan, didn't think about the fact it had my full details on it... i'm totally blaming baby brain lol.
so, once again, here's baby booth :)
oh, and to whoever was on about boob yesterday (sorry, can't remember who it was) i was already a big girl, 42f, and my boobs are already getting bigger. i swear i'm going to look like a milking cow by the time i deliver lol :P

English - Sorry the scan wasn't what you were hoping for. fx for you.

Sara, that is truly rubbish news. Hope the family have access to support.

Hi to everyone else, inc. new comers!

Little - if it makes you feel any better I have concerns due to last pregnancy. My GP didn't give a flying rats arse. I am 31 yrs old. Complete waste of my time. There is a potential for an inherited condition, which means this baby may need to have a scan 26-30 weeks to look for it - and the GP huffed when I asked it to be included in the notes! (the condition, not scan request).

Monstamio · 22/05/2014 15:01

Sorry your scan was so frustrating English. As others have said, I don't think it's unusual to be pushed back a week, especially as you thought you might have ovulated late. It will be a long three weeks but just think how much more there'll be to see by then!

I had better luck - it was an amazing experience to be honest and seeing the heartbeat just made me well up. I feel so lucky. They dated me as 8+1 so I have a new edd of New Year's Eve! Grin

littlecat123 · 22/05/2014 15:34

Thanks Linda and English I will look into it more to see if anything can be done.

Sleep It's silly isn't it seems there isn't as much concern for pregnant women as I thought. Sort of a "I deal with this every day" attitude. Hope you have better luck with your midwife.

lindamagoo · 22/05/2014 15:55

Monstamio that is fab news Smile

lindamagoo · 22/05/2014 15:57

I've just slept for 2 hours and for once the kids didn't jump all over me, maybe they could tell I needed it

Hi little, I'd definitely try and go straight through to the midwives to see if you can speed up the process - there is also some good advice on the attached link for younger mums to be, well worth a look to see what support you can get. www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/teenager-pregnant.aspx

Monstamo- that's fantastic news glad all went well Smile

Loobyloo893 · 22/05/2014 16:32

Great news about the scan monstamio Smile

cheshirem2b · 22/05/2014 16:46

Monstamo excellent news!

EnglishGirlsReturned · 22/05/2014 17:24

Glad your scan went well Monstamino.
Thanks all for your kind words.
Obviously I've googles the crap out of it and there's a lot of positive stories out there, far more than negative so I'm running with that!

Starbright24 · 22/05/2014 17:53

Lovely news monstamino.

Sorry about yours English

my boobs are bigger - hurt all the time but worse in the morning and sore nipples. Joy!!
After feeling nauseous for the last few days which has been made better with food - today was my first day of actually being sick and food not helping :(
celebration!! Think that must be a milestone of some sort.

RPopz · 22/05/2014 17:56

Food's not helping me today either Star. There's literally nothing I want to eat that doesn't make me heave (except maybe crisps... Wink ).

Hope the next 3 weeks speed by for you English! I guess this is the trouble with early scans.

I'm wishing away the next couple of days as we're telling the family on Monday Grin

Minibagel · 22/05/2014 18:01

Sitting here catching up with the day's comments and sipping a non alcoholic piña colada from m&s...yum!

Saraswati · 22/05/2014 18:23

Great news monstamino

english glad you feel ok after googling! it sounds like it's only a tiny bit behind what you thought you were anyway.

Sorry some of you guys are feeling rough, don't worry about only eating crisps rpopz midwife said to me just to eat what I can stomach, the baby gets what it needs from you and you can make up nutrients later. Just so long as you can keep now your preg vits. I got my cyclizine today so will report back on if they do the trick! I'm living off tuc biscuits, crumpets and odd bites of pasta! My list of safe foods is getting smaller everyday :s

LulusMiniEgg · 22/05/2014 18:29

Fantastic news monstamino!

English so glad you are feeling positive, sure everything will be fine, fx the 3 weeks will fly by xxx

Is anyone else becoming repulsed by the smell of other men apart from their DH/DP? I work closely with this man who normally smells fine but the last few days - blurgh! And smelly men on the tube/bus urgh! I nearly had to move seats today the guy next to me smelt of beer and smelly feet!
