Wow, amazing news gingy

Loved catching up on all the pages, especially the scan photos! Makes me wonder if I can talk my DH into an early scan after all..

I've been feeling pretty rough these past few days. I even managed some dry retching this morning before breakfast. Nothing compared to Saraswati though! I've stashed a packet of rich tea biscuits at work to get me through, and I've found eating loads of carbs really helps.

Also had some spotting yesterday and today, and even though I know it's normal and loads of you ladies have had it, I still rang the doctor Blush He told me no sex and to take it easy! DH wants me to take tomorrow off work, but I'd feel silly having a day off.

I bought my first item of maternity clothing the other day! I saw a a pair of Seraphine jeans really cheap on ebay, so I thought why not? Definitely don't need them yet (although my work trousers are a bit tight from bloating), but I couldn't resist Smile

ilovelamp78 · 20/05/2014 20:56

Rpopz I'm not planning an early scan either. So until late June I'll be sitting here getting excited over everyone else's!

sunshineandbiscuits · 20/05/2014 21:07

Great news, Gingy!

Had our first GP appointment this morning. She was lovely and very reassuring on pretty much everything! For all those who might be worrying a bit due to lack of symptoms - she said that there was absolutely nothing to worry about and in fact she had been pregnant with very few symptoms herself (lucky her!).

My ms was better today though I have a sore throat now :-( and I'm totally knackered. Think I might be coming down with a cold. Hugs to all those who are feeling rough today.

Just to make things better, our cat also has an upset stomach and keeps throwing up. DW says that the house is rapidly becoming the House of Nausea. Maybe this ms is contagious...

RPopz · 20/05/2014 21:12

I'm always retching Lady its awful isn't it. Still not actually been sick but feeling nauseous 24-7 now Sad

Feel like I've been hit by a train these past couple of days! So tired its an effort to move.... sounds like we're all in the same boat. Roll on second trimester!

MademoiselleG · 20/05/2014 21:24

Roll in second trimester indeed. Dinner didn't stay down. That's worse and way earlier than last time Hmm

Dec2013mummy · 20/05/2014 21:45

I feel your pain ladies.... Tonight I had dry cereal for dinner in a hope if keep that down! No luck! Ah well, I just hope the second trimester is easier this time.

I have my first craving....... Ice, that's right, ice! It's why I couldn't sleep last night (I was awake 12-3.30 then Ds wanted a bottle... Bad timing), I was so close to going to a 24 hour shop, so I just went to the shop and got 3 bags of ice. Dh was going to go but I had already sent him out on 2 errands tonight so I felt bad and insisted I went. I'm just glad it's not a calorific craving!

RPopz · 20/05/2014 21:53

I'm with you on the ice craving Dec!! How strange Smile

Shallan · 21/05/2014 04:17

Morning all, can't sleep.

dec and rpopz - ice craving can be a sign of anaemia, so you may just want to get your iron levels checked.

Sonics · 21/05/2014 06:16

I've been awake for ages to. F*ing cat has been climbing all over me being a right pain in the ass. The latch on our door is broken so we can't lock him out. Need to get that fixed ASAP!

rumisyum · 21/05/2014 06:16

Morning all. My word, I missed a lot in the last day or two, CONGRATULATIONS on all the wonderful, lovely heartbeats! So pleased for all of you. It makes the thread so joyous to catch up on. Smile

tooth I hope you're doing OK & being well looked after.

suzu I also have a scan at the EPU today from spotting at the weekend. Hope both our appointments today go well!

Feeling a bit nervous about the scan later. I still feel pregnant & the tests are strongly positive, but keep your fingers crossed for me please. Would love to be going on holiday tomorrow with good news to celebrate rather than bad news to recover from.

Hope everyone has a great day today & hope the sickness gives those of you suffering from it a nice break!

Sonics · 21/05/2014 06:27

Good luck with the scan rum

fancyacupoftea · 21/05/2014 06:31

Good luck for today's scans rum and suz!
Woke up feeling nausea this morning. Still got horrible metallic taste. Back working at office today. Can't be arsed Sad

Tilly28 · 21/05/2014 06:38

Good luck everyone with scans today! :-)

I am feeling exhausted at the moment, ok until about lunch then have to drag myself through the afternoon. Iv been so grumpy in the evenings I feel sorry for dp!

ChineseFireball · 21/05/2014 06:47

Good luck Rum Smile
Gingy that's brilliant news Thanks and congratulations to everyone else with positive scans!

Missed 2 days and I can't keep up with this thread Grin Had my booking-in appointment with the MW on Monday (first antenatal appointment with paid time off work Wink ) and she's coming to my house this afternoon for the 2nd part where they ask about family health history etc and all the other bits. This morning before we go to messy play I will need to go through the house like a dose of salts so she doesn't realise what a slattern I am! I've been noticing a weird smell in our lounge - sort of like a piece of food going off - for a while now. Last weekend DH helped me move all the furniture and vacuum thoroughly but I can still smell it. He swears blind he can't. I've washed the sofa covers yesterday just in case it was that! Maybe I'm imaging it?!

MS is starting to become tiresome now. I'm not being as sick as I was last time but I'm definitely feeling more nauseous. As a PP said, constant eating definitely helps! I don't seem to be able to face biscuits, however. Bought a big bag of small bags of haribo the other day and that has helped.

Who was it with the ice? I've not been craving it per se, but drinks have to be either properly hot or properly cold - none of your tepid or room temp nonsense. Weird, eh?

Sending non-crampy, non-pukey vibes out to everyone.

8+4

Good luck for the scans today Rum, Suz & Madrigals!

Saraswati · 21/05/2014 07:05

Good luck to all those with scans today!

I better drag my carcass out of bed and in the shower. Does everyone else just count down the minutes everyday until they can crawl into bed again?! I feel like I'm not living my life anymore, just dragging my body around!! I can wait until this mystical second trimester bloom, I feel I've aged about 10 years already!

ilovelamp78 · 21/05/2014 07:40

Good luck with scans today ladies!

Today I'm 7 weeks and so far apart from being a bit tired in the afternoons and feeling the odd spell of nausea I'm fairly symptomless. Even boobs not that sore anymore. Aparently I can smell horrible things that other people can't - makes me feel kinda like a superhero! Finally got a day off after a long week so I might go for a cheeky run in the sunshine before the weather gets crappy.

Anyway, I hope I haven't jinxed myself there and happy Wednesday people !

gingysmummy · 21/05/2014 07:42

Good luck and fingers crossed for everyone with scans today,
Well think I've def got symptoms now I'm so tired doesn't help when I work 12.5 hour night shiftsHmm also ms is beginning I had to get hospitalised last time and put on a drip. Hopefully won't be that bad this time.

cheshirem2b · 21/05/2014 07:43

Good luck with scans today ladies!
saras I feel it too... Exhausted when I get out of bed, tired at work, nap when I get home, nauseous so don't enjoy dinner then bed!
Only 4 1/2 wk until 2nd trimester!

sunshineandbiscuits · 21/05/2014 07:43

Good luck with your scans today, rum, suzu and Madrigals!

Loobyloo893 · 21/05/2014 07:50

Good luck with the scans today ladies.

RPopz · 21/05/2014 08:00

Chinese I'm same I think, not so much craving ice its just everything I drink has to be ice cold! Esp water or it makes me heave!

I had my bloods done at booking in so I'm def not anaemic. Think that's probably a myth tbh! (one of many pregnancy myths!!)

RPopz · 21/05/2014 08:02

Also chinese I'm sure the midwife will understand your first trimester slatterny haha! I'm usually quite a clean freak but I seriously cannot be arsed at the minute.... going to work is enough to finish me off! Plus Mr Rpopz is taking advantage of my good mood and lethargy to let his half of the chores slide... Angry
