Welcome Sunshine! Love your doctors diagnosis!! Congratulations!!

I've had a list on my phone for AGES, that I add to when ever I hear a name I like! It's huge! And I am a sad cow. I know! Lol!

Kay25lennox · 18/05/2014 13:32

Hi guys I'm new here. I'm 6 weeks pregnant and due in jan 2015. Any one here about the same as me. Would love to chat

fancyacupoftea · 18/05/2014 14:47

Hi kay! Some are slightly ahead of you, some exactly the same and some after you - all due in Jan though so welcome!!

sunshine your diagnosis made me laugh! Congratulations. :)

linda Happy Birthday! Have a lovely day and I note alk goes smoothly for you tomorrow too.

English We are very close on times (I think) and tan/light brown cm seems a standard fixture for me too. Any other symptoms yet? I don't really have any, but think my boobs may be a tiny bit tender probably from poking them and they feel quite heavy and dense.

Is anyone using a pregnancy tracking app for symptoms etc? I've downloaded I'm Pregnant (pure logo) which I'm pleased with so far, but it would be good to hear about some others. ..

MrsGingerbread · 18/05/2014 15:26

Grrr, is unruly autocorrect a symptom?

Note -> hope
Alk -> all
Pure -> purple

:)

DontBeBlueBeARainbow · 18/05/2014 15:26

Fancy good luck!

Engels I'm in China, recent move so not yet ready to brave the hospital! Was thinking 10-12 weeks.

I just unexpectedly told my mum, really needed some support because of this spotting today and she was great, said all the right things as mothers do! And now i don't need to worry about telling her Smile all done!

MademoiselleG · 18/05/2014 15:33

Do it fancy, how exciting! Have you thought of a fun way to tell them? When PIL came over the other day, I gave them an envelope with some of our wedding pictures I had printed for them (aaaaages ago - I just kept forgetting about them!) so we all sat down and opened a bottle of bubbly. I caught DMiL casting a side glance to check whether or not I was having some - of course dh poured me a glass (cue: shrugs shoulders, looks away) - and amongst the wedding pictures was the scan photo we got that day. The look on her face was priceless! We all started hugging, she cried, and DFiL still hadn't seen the scan photo and didn't have a clue what was going on...haha!

Re: prune juice...it's fine actually. Very sweet but you don't need much. And as far as poo stories as concerned, that's ALL you'll ever talk about once you have your baby! It helps with frequency AND consistency btw. Ha!

Ikkleme · 18/05/2014 16:07

I'm around 5 weeks pg but had I no symptoms yet... Is this normal, I'm reading on here that people have sickness and sore boobs but I have nothing appart from a BFP
I have been to docs and apparently the midwife will contact me late next week for whatever happens next... Not sure on all this as it is my first time.

I've also ready that constipation is a sign but I've been going more frequently than normal (sorry if tmi)

I'm feeling bloated but this might be down to the fact I'm eating what I want and not dieting as before

Anyone else like this?

MrsGingerbread · 18/05/2014 16:15

Ikkleme I am 4+6 today and no symptoms here either! So you are not alone. :)

EnglishGirlsReturned · 18/05/2014 16:19

MrsG, I have very few symptoms too, just heavy/fuller boobs that sometimes feel sore, sometimes not. Think I'm 5+2
I've got 3 apps on the go, ipregnancy, baby centre one and one that's just called pregnancy. They're all pretty much the same. 'Pregnancy' has lots of info and pics etc.

Sonics · 18/05/2014 16:37

Ikkle I'm also not constipated and have gone more the other way. I think you can class that as a symptom!

I'm 4+3 and also have sore boobs and getting hungry more frequently.

I'm currently sat in the sun with an alcohol free beer Smile

cheshirem2b · 18/05/2014 16:39

Don't worry ladies. Everyone is different. I'm 7+6 and seem to be coming out of my tired streak... Have had sore and fuller boobs, bloating, bit constipated and a few twinges/cramps but no ms like many ladies here. My best friend is pg and has been in hospital with ms... worst I've been is a bit queasy when I'm hungry!
A bfp is a bfp so don't worry about symptoms!

cheshirem2b · 18/05/2014 16:39

Ps- congrats to our newbies!

fancyacupoftea · 18/05/2014 16:45

Told them! Mum thought I was lying then asked if it was an accident. Dad said he was going to drink champagne. They're really happy, it will be their second grandchild and they couldn't be more doting on my niece.
PILs aren't picking up their phone though!

Ikkleme I spent too much time worrying over lack of symptoms. I'd definitely say that the opposite of constipation was one though! Think we've been about 50/50 with which one we're all suffering from!

fancyacupoftea · 18/05/2014 16:46

sonics which alcohol free beer have you got? I bought Bavaria last night and it's very... Yeasty. Needs some lemonade I think. Or just some getting used to.

OP posts:
Sonics · 18/05/2014 16:49

Fancy it's Becks Blue. I think it tastes like the real thing. My dh agreed. My sister had alcohol free cobra when she was pg and I wouldn't recommend it! Becks is worth a try though Smile

Sonics · 18/05/2014 16:50

Oh and congrats on telling the folks! We told ours yesterday and they were thrilled, especially as we've been trying forever

Ikkleme · 18/05/2014 16:56

That's a bit of a relieve thanks peeps!

Can anyone tell me what is the procedures when midwife gets in touch?

I've been to docs she took my blood pressure but that was it, no info or anything just to take folic acid.

Sonics · 18/05/2014 17:03

You'll be given a "booking in" appointment where you have to fill lots of forms in about medical history, previous pregnancies etc. at the appointment I think they take urine and bloods just to check everything is ok and then you'll get your scan appt. booking in is usually about 8 weeks I think. Although I also think the whole process differs by region

sunshineandbiscuits · 18/05/2014 17:09

On the alcohol free beer, I like the Erdinger Alkoholfrei which you can also get in Sainsbury's and Tesco. It's marketed as less than 0.5% alcohol which apparently counts as alcohol free in Germany (but not under UK law). I don't drink more than one at a time to be on the safe side, but you certainly can't feel any alcohol. I like the Bavaria too rather than the Becks, but I guess it depends what kind of beer you normally like.

What is really good is that we found a nice local pub which sells this stuff - it has saved me sooo many awkward explanations when we've been out with friends! Amazing what a difference it makes socially.

Sonics · 18/05/2014 17:16

Sunshine I was looking at the Erdinger in tesco yesterday as I do like that normally but was worried about the 0.5% abv (maybe unnecessarily!) Might save it for after the 12 week point anyway

toothachereturns · 18/05/2014 17:23

Sonics are you due 22nd Jan too? Smile

cheshirem2b · 18/05/2014 17:26

I have had the occasional Erdinger and like you sunshine I like the Baravia as well. Much prefer it to Becks etc.
sonics I wouldn't worry about 0.5% abv as long as it's occasional. I'm having one in the sunshine watching the rugby league now! Although my team are losing! Sad

Sonics · 18/05/2014 17:30

Yep 22nd for me as well tooth!! As long as I make it that far, keeping everything crossed at the moment
