Re: aqua good to know. lol at your whale proportions yellow!

STIGZ · 23/05/2014 16:25

Just thinking how about coming home from hospital as a new parent!! ... It was a surreal feeling!! When she was sleeping we where like "what do we now" ??

Then when she made a noise we where junping out of seats.,, makes me chuckle abot how frantic we must of looked!!

This time round im so looking forward to being a bit more relaxed as hopefully it will be like riding a bike??

mum2kiss · 23/05/2014 17:53

I haven't even considered the going home with baby 'alone' thing yet! Although I have told Dp not to expect dinner for at least a week! Lol!

Kirstipops · 23/05/2014 18:50

Lovely to hear good scan news! Me23 I'm team yellow, hope you had a good scan today too!!

Captainmcgraw · 23/05/2014 19:04

me 23 I'm down as team blue but only out that to follow general mumsnet etiquette and also would much rather it said boy so please feel free to update me in stats list

Captainmcgraw · 23/05/2014 19:05

Put that not out that

tothesea27 · 23/05/2014 19:29

Had my scan this morning and everything was normal, hooray. It was all quite straightforward, too, which was nice. Found out we're having a boy! I'm really excited that I'll have a son. That sounds so surreal.

I'm also a bit weirded out thinking of coming home from the hospital with a baby. Haha. I can see it feeling a bit odd.

Me23 · 23/05/2014 19:55

Have updated the thread.

Scan went really well today we are having a girl :-) so pleased all is well. Placenta is posterior this time which explains why I have felt this one move much earlier.

Went shopping afterwards bought some baby gros and some maternity clothes 50% off In mamas and papas bargains!

Glad other scans today have gone well too.

claptomania · 23/05/2014 20:06

Scanned today - boy here! A minor watch out as I have a uterine artery notch (one side only), meaning possibility of slightly restricted blood flow in later months, and need to be on aspirin - however may still sort itself out. Anyone else experienced this?
Baby currently v healthy - and off the scale massive.

Congrats to all rest receiving good scan news!

bumpbangbump · 23/05/2014 20:43

Congrats on all the scans, seems we're pretty even in the boy girl stakes so far.

Loving knowing this time round. Can't believe I went 39 weeks and 4 days, with 5 scans, not knowing first time round!

puppythedog · 23/05/2014 21:35

Hello to all, it's lovely to hear all of the lovely scan news and congratulations to all of you knowing or surprising.

We had a bit of a scare the Wednesday night, mrsthedog had had an 4r53h013 bus driver whom decided to ignore the bell asking to stop and dropped her off a while from home down a steep hill whilst she had marking to lug. She then was woken by a sharp pain at about 2:30 in the morning. It was sufficiently outside of any of her experiences so far to raise her anxiety enough t want to call that out of hours number. I fear I was a bit slow off the mark (oops) but after getting the phone we were advised to head off to Accident and Emergency. We were seen quickly but none the less remained all night until about half eight whilst the tested blood, urine, BP etc. After testing everything they could think of (except schrodenburg's heartbeat because they lacked a doppler) they asked a MW to come and check heart beat; 124 beats per minute and fine. Nothing found so assume all okay. Our scan next week on Thursday but we got a quick look on an ordinary ultrasound.

Bloody stressful week with all of this along with my caseload throwing some surprises and stress my way this week and then having Thursday off after the night in A and E.

We plan to stay team Green when we have the scan next week.

mrsb are things okay with you? not heard much since your pains? after our experience I can recommend getting checked, we were treated well although I would rather we did not have to have that experience again.

How are all the Dad to be holding up? I have to admit to being very jealous that I don't get to experience the flutters, kicks etc and that I don't have such a strong and experiential relationship with Schrodenburg yet.

porcito · 23/05/2014 21:36

Congrats on all the scans! So exciting as it gets further along!

I'm still desperate to know but baby's not playing! 2 more weeks to find out! Today I went to the local government hospital (where you give birth in the same room as 3 other people), and heard its heartbeat. You have to go to get maternity leave but they told me the baby was bean sized. Hmm Unless they're growing GIANT beans, I find that very hard to believe.

I had a dream last night that I gave birth to a little piglet that ran and hid in a kitchen cupboard. Freud could have a field day with that, I'm sure.

porcito · 23/05/2014 21:40

Sorry puppy, cross posted. Sounds like a horrible week! Hope mrsthedog feels better now. The dad to be here is feeling a bit put out I think. He's doing all the 'organising', like making appointments etc., sorting out a new house (mainly the language barrier), but doesn't get any of the flutters. Hoping he feels better when the kicks are stronger. I think it will help knowing if it's a boy or girl for him too.

LondonJen · 23/05/2014 22:17

Fantastic to hear of all the good scan news. Claptomania I hope it is something that sorts itself out.

Sorry you've had that scare Puppy and a full on week. I hope Mrs is feeling better. Dad to be here is a little way behind me in some ways, I feel a lot more scared shitless responsible after yesterday's scan, he doesn't feel any different in that sense though is very happy all is well. I've been getting proper belted today so hoping he'll soon be able to feel the kicks.

fatpony · 23/05/2014 22:26

Loulou, why is breaststroke not considered a good swim stroke? I'm about to start swimming again and would rather not front crawl all the time!

Loulou888 · 23/05/2014 23:17

Midwife said its best to alternate strokes. Apparently breastroke legs can cause spd. Which can lead to pelvic pain and strain. (But then too much front crawl isn't streamlined so prob no good either) would think you would hAve to be really kicking hard though. It's another "not to do" on our pregnancy lists but then there is so much on there these days that we should all be wrapped in cotton wool!

Morning, ladies! Off for my 20 week scan this morning (was surprised they offer routine appointments on a Saturday!) and feeling a wee bit nervous. It seems a long time since the 12 week scan and I can remember being scared that they wouldn't find anything in there - now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that everything looks the way it should. Although we've told close friends and our family, we've kept the news off Facebook etc so far because I wanted the anomaly scan out of the way first in case of bad news. Baby is wriggling about as I type - I've felt movement of various kinds for a few weeks, so I can't wait for another peek and to find out if it's a boy bump or a girl bump :-)

ExcitedCJ · 24/05/2014 07:39

Bingle wishing you a lovely scan. X

Kirstipops · 24/05/2014 09:23

Happy scanning Bingles :)
That sounds like a tough time you both had puppy, glad Mrsthedog had you there for support!
I'm 22 weeks today, yikes! So wee Dug is apparently the size of a papaya, jeez I remember when he/she was a mere poppy seed...
Spa day with the friends today, then the hotel we're staying in is holding a Madonna tribute so we opted for that for a giggle too, should be interesting! Happy Saturday everyone

CellyD · 24/05/2014 10:05

Congratulations on all the good scans. Good luck with your scan bingles.

Clapto hopefully it will be ok by the time you go for your next scan. Sorry you had a tough week puppy and mrsthedog.

We had a good scan on Thursday, all was well. Team green for us. We have a scan booked for 33 weeks, not sure why and was too busy being relieved that the scan didn't reveal anything of serious concern to ask. Does anyone know if a 33 week scan is normal?

Good luck to all those scanning next week. For those in the UK, enjoy the long weekend (if you are lucky enough not to be working).

bumpbangbump · 24/05/2014 12:12

Congrats on more good scans. Sorry to hear you had such a scare pup and mrsthedog!

My baby niece has just arrived. 6ish hours of labour, 3 pushes and she's here!!!!! Now that's the birth I'm hoping for Grin

ohthegoats · 24/05/2014 12:14

I dunmo what's normal with scan dates. I've got a doppler at 23 weeks, a growth scan at 28 weeks, 32 weeks and 36 weeks. Poor thing is going to be sick of being poked by then.

puppythedog · 24/05/2014 12:29

goats when the midwife used the doppler Shrodenburg kept kicking it Smile
