Hmmm I feel something down below when I sneeze as well but this is my first so I'm confused, also need loo multiple times at night and often in day when it's just trickle but I've always had a very small bladder so not surprised.

Kirstipops · 20/05/2014 22:50

Awwww goats your little baby is laughing in there :P

ExcitedCJ · 20/05/2014 22:52

Tomorrow is day 9 of working straight for me with a few 18 hour days, couple of trips away & a whole lot of interviews. Tomorrow I have my annual appraisal & I'm just not in the mood to be a positive force of nature! Off on Thursday & am getting my hair cut & coloured, can't wait. Have not had the colour done since BFP, it is looking pretty trashy!
All this talk of labour has got me excited. I am looking forward to feeling a BH & a full contraction. I had EMCS last time & would really like a VBAC this time. I want to know what it feels like! Hmm

Bumpforme2014 · 20/05/2014 22:52

I can see face goats, another question for scanners how low is your baby. I listen to mines heartbeat and he/she is still just above pubic bone, where did the sonographer have the machine? Thought it would have moved up by now.

YellowWellies · 20/05/2014 23:02

Goats I'm on the app so can't see the pic. I'm sure they're gorgeous though.

Its only by becoming a Mum the 'mum-run' makes sense - its basically trying to run without having an accident isn't it!? Sad for a former runner. When this one is 6 months and not needing to be velcroed to my boobies I'm taking up running again. Even if initially it will be with Tena lady. Grin Hmm Sad

ExcitedCJ · 20/05/2014 23:04

Goats I can see a very cute little face. :)

tak1ngchances · 20/05/2014 23:15

I can see the face clear as day goats!

My pelvic floor is crap. When I sneeze, wee comes out. When I cough, wee comes out. If I do a violent fart, wee comes out...and when I had bad morning sickness in trimester 1, there were many times when I retched and weed together.

I have had no kids yet, I have no excuse. It's just a very poor quality pelvic floor. *sigh

FlipFantasia · 21/05/2014 01:48

Haha Kirstie I have a super bladder too! Used to come in handy for being able to hold 3-4 pints of beer...now it means I never need to pee at night when pregnant. I'll still toss and turn at night but just no need to get out of bed.

I'm a pelvic floor exerciser. I do sets of ten to twenty repetitions at random times during the day/night (eg brushing my teeth!). I don't really leak when coughing or laughing but I really want to avoid it. I was shocked at how much my vbac affected me - in those early days/weeks when I needed to go I needed to GO NOW. I don't remember this after my emcs at all (just had the dreaded first poo to worry about!). Not pleasant but motivation to exercise that pelvic floor. And it went away within a short while. I also think the exercise helped my episiotomy recovery (increased bloodflow to my bits - not a scientific theory mind you!).

My Nct teacher drummed the exercises into us during my first pregnancy. Said it was pregnancy rather than birth which has the long term effects.

ExcitedCJ wow that is some workload! Hope you enjoy Thursday and I bet your ace your appraisal! I had a vbac and hoping for one again. I recommend it though it's a personal decision (I was really committed to it as wanted to be able to lift my toddler etc. Also really hated the cs recovery and found the vbac much easier to recover from, episiotomy and all).

20 week scan tomorrow morning. I love hearing all the scan news and looking forward to seeing bubs on screen. My 2 year old will be joining us, which is not ideal, but otherwise dh can't join me as no childcare. We'll stay team yellow (though I shall also adopt team green!).

fedupofrainydays · 21/05/2014 06:29

Girls you must do your pelvic floor exercises!! Just try do at least 10 reps a day. I was terrible after birth and remember almost wetting myself at a wedding 9 months later from dancing enthusiastically. Decided I needed to up my game and it worked!

Anterior placenta here too. And kind of get the logic for why babies are then often back to back. Ds was sideways / semi back to back! Awkward. I can't always feel movement either and often not sure if I just have gas!

binkybunny · 21/05/2014 06:50

Ohdear my pelvic floor has no chance as like Tak1ng no kids but have the odd little sneeze/cough accident and morning sickness was just a disaster from both ends.

Got to start my pelvic floor exercises!!!

Bumpforme2014 · 21/05/2014 07:03

God I can't be bothered to do them but I know I will appreciate it if I do, so what does it feel like, I tried doing it but I just seem to be squeezing my bum cheeks together haha

ExcitedCJ · 21/05/2014 07:09

I've got a suggestion for you all - every time you check mumsnet or write on the thread you MUST promise to pelvic floor exercise! I have just done heaps while catching up this morning.
Have a good Wednesday all. :)

binkybunny · 21/05/2014 07:11

Bump I have had so many people explain it to me and I still end up squeezing my bum! Apparently you should be able to sit at your desk and do them without anyone knowing but DH told me I look really constipated when I try so best to practice at home Grin

tak1ngchances · 21/05/2014 08:01

binky they are same muscles you use to stop wee mid-flow.
Also if you sit on the lid of the loo and do it, you'll be able to feel if you're doing it correctly.
Or you can put the palm of your hand down there and see which muscles you are working. Remember to breathe, I used to hold my breath and go all red when I was doing them!!

cabster · 21/05/2014 08:03

(Unlurks)

Hi hope everyone's well, and stopped puking (sneeze-pee ers, I feel your pain)

Team blue for me! A VERY wriggly baby with everything present and correct.

Was 19+6 however so not entitled to MATB1 until next mw appointment :(

Pleased to be halfway there! :)

YellowWellies · 21/05/2014 08:19

I do try to do three sets of 10 reps of fast, slow and the elevator exercise a day. Think I might need the weighted cone things you get off the physio.....

ldt87 · 21/05/2014 08:43

Ah team blue, congrats cabster, have you already got any? Xx

Kirstipops · 21/05/2014 10:22

The "elevator" exercise?
I've done pelvic floor exercises before for umm...more pleasurable shagging haha (love you, 90s era "More" magazine), better get back on it then, so to speak!

YellowWellies · 21/05/2014 11:12

Lift your pelvic floor and imagine its a lift stopping (and holding for 5 secs) at the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor. Repeat on the way down. Also good for shagging!

HopefulHamster · 21/05/2014 11:15

Hi all, can't remember if I've posted in this thread before - due in Oct obviously but was too scared to post until I had my 20 week scan, which we did yesterday :)

All was well and we're a 'maybe team pink' as it was hard to get a good groin shot but there was no obvious willy. Wouldn't surprise me if we find one at a later date though! Might have a private scan next week, just because I've got a DS and I want to know whether to get his baby clothes out or not! :)

Hope everyone's well

sazzlehopes · 21/05/2014 11:19

Ummm loulou and okla as you as pushing the baby out your ladygarden, SURELY you get the say on things like that?!!!!!!

And anterior here too! I have trouble feeling movements....

Bugs i'm 21 weeks and just feeling things, but not every day. I think last time I was 22 weeks or more before I felt anything. And 18 weeks hey - ace. When is your next scan?

Arghhhh I really need to up my pelvic floor exercises. I have to stop and cross my legs when I laugh or sneeze so I dont wee myself. Classy.

I think menkulling is normal....i did and had no reason other than long time ttc. But nothing like your journey...hope in 3 weeks you can relax again. Bumps change a lot at the beginning i think, mine is still yet to reach the always firm stage...it fluctuates between a bit flabby and rock hard and changes in size too. Good luck bugs, and nice to have you here from time to time.

fatpony · 21/05/2014 12:51

bumpforme - I reckon mine is pretty low. I've had a few things that feel like bubbles (pretty sure it's not gas) but no kicks, but when I first wake up in the morning the bottom of my belly above the public bone is quite hard and rounding. Perhaps it goes there to sleep and then moves around during the day...:)

Loulou888 · 21/05/2014 13:42

sazzle that made me laugh not heard someone call it a lady garden for a while! I'm working on dh! I have a feeling he might cave in at scan.

Pelvic floor. I do believe that if you are able to stop mid wee you are okay. That's when I do my exercises lol. Wee a bit hold it, wee a bit more etc. also helps as after my first dc could control wee but not wind Blush as when the birth comes you feel like you are pushing through your bum. I was pushing for a long time.....
