Great news on the scans! I have been a bit less stressed today and have felt flutters during a meeting earlier so I am presuming all is ok in there.

Mrsb if you're still worried I'd call back.

Great tips about the tankinis too. I was supposed to start aquanatal this week but found out I dont have anything to swim in that fits!

sazzlehopes · 20/05/2014 13:37

Ahh thats lovely Trouble one of each. I'm more than happy to be mum to boys but I just keep thinking of my little boy's face when he found out it wasn't going to be the sister he wanted and it makes me sad...

Silly I know. Especially after the sad news on this thread. I'm sure he'll come round to the idea in a few weeks time!

I've also ordered a maternity tankini top on its own from next. It goes fine with my bikini bottoms I'd usually wear.

Loulou888 · 20/05/2014 13:53

Fab scan news

porcito · 20/05/2014 15:25

Congrats on scans! Given my trouble finding a bra bigger than a B here, I'm not even going to attempt to look for a tankini. It might have to be tent T shirts at the pool instead!

My bump seems to have shrunk today. I've convinced myself it's because I've done something terrible by sleeping on my back last night. Hope I start getting some giant kicks soon so I can stop being a paranoid wreck!

Hope you feel better mrsb! I've also had bad cramps on and off for the past week or so; I think it was just muscles stretching as my bump exploded this weekend.

So I rang them again this afternoon after being sent home from work. They simply told me to take paracetamol and call back later if it hasn't helped. Why couldn't they say this earlier? I feel completely let down and as if it's all very unimportant. All this today has really upset me.

Sorry for the multiple posts, stupid phone.

mum2kiss · 20/05/2014 16:29

Mrsb if it helps the mw at the day assessment unit told.me.on friday that they are only concerned about pain that paracetamol does not relieve.

Ive had more spotting over night.. I wish I knew whether this was something to worry about or not!

Yay for the good scans today :)

Very envious of you all finding out what colour you are. I have another couple of weeks to wait still.

Also still have to persuade DH that he wants to find out. I've had such a shitty time with the sickness that a bit of nice news would be very welcome but he wants to stay team yellow.

Ideas on how to persuade him?

tak1ngchances · 20/05/2014 17:17

Mrsb i would ring them up and say, earlier you told me to come in...i am available now and will come and see you. What time suits?

then if they fob you off say, i'd really rather come in as you previously advised.

i had my scan just now, all fine! She was asleep so very easy to measure. She has very long limbs and so i'm to expect a big baby!
right now placenta is low-lying so they will scan me again at 34 weeks to see if it has shifted to the right place.

relief! Looking forward to hols tomorrow now

Kirstipops · 20/05/2014 17:26

Aww Oklahoma, that's a bummer that you and DH aren't on the same page about what team you want to be! If it turns out can't persuade him, if it makes you feel any better I was team yellow and still found the experience so fab just to see little baby wriggling around in there, you'll be on a high for a good day or two afterwards, regardless of finding out the sex ;) You never know, maybe it'll be fairly obvious on screen what their bits are too!

mrsb87 · 20/05/2014 17:38

Thanks tak1ng. I'm stuck between feeling like I'm wasting their time as I have been led to believe all afternoon and being firm like you say and insisting I'm seen just to put my mind to rest.

Loulou888 · 20/05/2014 17:52

oklahoma I'm in the same position as you! I want to know DH doesn't. Hope you are feeling better mrsb

ohthegoats · 20/05/2014 18:10

So, scan OK. 'Small' is all good. There is definitely only one artery 'out' in the umbilical cord, as expected at the 12 week scan. Sonographer said it's a soft marker etc (we knew that already), but that my Harmony result is 'pretty much diagnostic these days, they're trying to make it such', that it isn't anything to be concerned about. I'm not. Means growth scans at 28, 32 and 36 weeks apparently. Cute picture of child looking like it's laughing, which is nice for the grandparents. We closed our eyes during the gender bit, so still team yellow - or team green as we're calling it here.

Other thing I'll be keeping an eye on is, it's currently breech - I was breech until the last minute, so was my brother, my mum was born breech. I wonder if it's a hereditary thing?

Came out and sat in the pharmacy waiting line trying to have a sensible conversation about names. Honestly, boyfriend has some really stupid ideas. He's just making up words... aaagh...

TroubleAndFyfe · 20/05/2014 18:23

Congrats on scans!
I was surprised to find out that my placenta is anterior too. She said this can inhibit you feeling movements but probably not with a baby as active as this one. Clearly. She's kicking all day and night!

mum2kiss · 20/05/2014 18:28

Breech position was hereditary for a friend of mine. She opted for an elcs, but I dont think that is the case for everyone.

I presented face up and so did my sisters first so both I and my niece were forcep deliveries. However my dd presented face up and I spent more time on my knees resting on my elbows than I care to remember! She did eventually turn around before her head engaged and so I didnt have to suffer a back to back labour! So even if they are the wrong way round its not impossible for them to turn.

mum2kiss · 20/05/2014 18:32

Im losing track of how many are having girl or boy! Can we have a list on the stats pages like the due date list so we can see what everyone is having or if they are team yellow?

ohthegoats · 20/05/2014 18:32

Oh, anterior placenta here too. It was going nuts during the scan, which gave me a dead set clue as to what the kicks feel like (I have worked it out before based on it not feeling like anything else), and lots of my hunger feelings are actually kicks.

TroubleAndFyfe · 20/05/2014 18:47

I had a back to back labour mum2kiss it was absolutely fine! I'd quite like this one to be the right way around though, maybe wouldn't need the gas and air that way (though have nothing against using it!) Smile
That nice you could pin down the feeling goats it'll be really clear soon. There's no mistaking mine.

gunwalloe · 20/05/2014 19:02

Congrats on all the good scans

Anterior here to but I'm having no trouble feeling her she lets me have it every night :)

Consultant tomorrow this will be the first where I don't know what's going to be said my other ones were all 5 mins long with the consultant saying do you want vbac and me saying yes. This time I've got 2 cs under my belt I hope I'm not in there hours

YellowWellies · 20/05/2014 19:05

My labour was back to back and it felt like I had imagined labour to. So I'm hoping if I have a front to back labour it'll be easier than I'd previously expected (and coped with) and I'll maybe go thru less gas and air!
