I just totally caved. Suddenly it was desperately important that I know! I have no idea what changed.

Good luck for tomorrow ladies. They mainly check the organs are all where expected, the skeleton is all present and correct and the face is all fine, no palate issues. Easier said than done but more people will have no bad news so try to relax. So lovely to see those little bubbas again!

Really sorry matildasmam, thinking of you and your family xx

YellowWellies · 19/05/2014 20:04

Roo yes 0-12 weeks takes forever. 12-20 flies. 20-30 goes in a blink - except the pigging nights and restless legs and the worst sleep ever (much worse than a newborn!). The last few weeks are meant to drag. I never got beyond 35+6.

A really important date for me personally is 27+3 as that's when my niece arrived, and despite 80 odd days in the NICU, 65 paed appointments since and weighing 1lb 15oz at her lowest - she's a bouncing toddler now. Once I get past that date I feel much more confident.

weeonion · 19/05/2014 20:16

FrauEnglischLehrerin · 19/05/2014 21:02

Mathildasmum - so sorry to hear your sad news. Hope you've got plenty of support at this difficult time.

Goats - at the risk of worrying anyone who has had an early anomaly scan, my ob/gyn told me that later was better and that some heart defects are not visible until after 19 weeks. I think my scan is scheduled for 21+4, although I have an appt with my regular dr at 20+0 or something where she will scan me and find a reason to refer me to the dr with the better ultrasound machine. Saves me having to pay privately for the scan - the 12 week scan cost me €120, plus the blood test which was billed separately.

Grannyapple · 19/05/2014 21:28

So sorry matilda...nothing I can say will go anywhere near towards how you must be feeling right now, but please take care of yourself xxx

CellyD · 19/05/2014 21:31

Matildasmam so sorry to hear the sad news about your baby boy. Thinking of you and your family at this difficult time.

gunwalloe · 19/05/2014 22:31

I'm sorry for your loss matildasmam

When I had the anomaly scan she couldn't get a good enough view and said it was the size of a 5p at that stage so I've got to go back at 22 weeks for a rescan when it's bigger so I think having it late isn't a bad thing everything will be bigger and easier to see

gunwalloe · 19/05/2014 22:32

Londonjen I breast fed all myn and needed bibs and muslins they all bought milk back up when winding them

mrsb87 · 19/05/2014 22:39

Sorry to hear your news matildasmum.

Glad to hear the scans are going well! I've just got back from a lovely family weekend at center parcs! Surprised at how much I managed to get involved with. I did cycling, swimming and pedalos. I spent a lot of time with my baby niece in the kids pool where she found her feet and went down a few mini slides all by herself! The others were all off going down all the really cool slides which I couldn't go on so I was glad of the distraction.

This week has been all about the heart burn and today the trapped wind is awful! I've also been getting some period like pains under my tummy, I'm assuming they are growing pains, has anyone else experienced this? 21wks today!

mum2kiss · 19/05/2014 22:53

Yes to period type pains mrsb. Mine has stopped since starting antibiotics for a suspected uti though so you may want to get a wee test done if the pain continues

ohthegoats · 19/05/2014 23:07

I think I've said before, but ive had period pains almost the whole time I've been pregnant. No other symptoms of anything, just varying degrees of aches and cramps.

mrsb87 · 20/05/2014 06:51

Do you think it's something worth ringing the midwife about? Seems more frequent this morning already. Ouchy Sad
