The way I look at it, is that I'd wear a babygro all the time if i could get away with it, most clothes are si restrictive! Imagine just putting on a babygro every day, would be lush. The popularity of onesies just backs me up.

ohthegoats · 19/05/2014 14:15

What things can go wrong at 20 week scan? I'm now in doom mode. I know that at 12 weeks they couldn't see both arteries coming out of the umbilical cord, but said that it was common for it not to be clear at 12 weeks. I asked what the issues might be if it was like that permanently, and he just said something about low birth weight. Haven't thought about it until today, niw scan tomorrow, so obviously doooooom feelings.

tak1ngchances · 19/05/2014 14:21

goats I'm the same. 20 week scan tomorrow and shitting it. Spent a lot of Saturday lying on the sofa obsessing about movement and discharge and pains.
Thank god I only have to wait til tomorrow or I'd be driving myself totally mental

ohthegoats · 19/05/2014 14:23

Mine isn't until nearly 4 in the afternoon. Basket case by then!

Loulou888 · 19/05/2014 14:25

20 week scans are exciting but also a very anxious and emotional build up..... Incase there is a problem. It's only natural. Fx all will be fine good luck everyone I've still 2 weeks to wait and DH still wants to be team yellow....

LondonJen · 19/05/2014 14:28

Yey Bump awww bless you!

Thanks that's really helpfulGoats and Yellow too. Ahhh, little hats! My mum has knit this baby so many cardis and jumpers already!

porcito · 19/05/2014 16:21

I was terrified before mine goats, once I knew what they checked for I invented things on previous scans that could be wrong. Obviously my knowledge of 20 weeks pregnancy is far superior to my doctor Blush.

Here's a link from babycentre, don't know how accurate it is but it tells you what they check for if you want to read it www.babycentre.co.uk/a557390/anomaly-scan-20-weeks.

ohthegoats · 19/05/2014 16:26

Thanks, will have a read.

I'm also worrying because it's not between 18 and 20+6 like it's supposed to be, it's 21+2 today. Stupid work messed things around for last week.

YellowWellies · 19/05/2014 16:39

TBH goats the later it is the more they'd see I think?

tak1ngchances · 19/05/2014 16:40

I am worrying because mine is 19 + 5 so I won't be really 20 weeks!! There's no pleasing us...

ldt87 · 19/05/2014 16:54

Takingchances, I was 18+4 and the consultant checked everything no problem so I wouldn't worry about the dates xx

Kirstipops · 19/05/2014 17:00

Yeah I think its the 12 week scan they want done as near as possible to 12 weeks for nuchal measurement and dating, timing of the anomaly one seems less strict, just from 18-20 weeks, I would have thought being a week or so out would be nobig deal otherwise they wouldn't have let you change it. I didn't read up on all the exact things they look for, ignorance was indeed bliss!
(Passed my theory test BTW, whoop)

mum2kiss · 19/05/2014 17:33

Congrats kirsti :)

Im sure with dd I had my 20 week scan at 21 weeks...they were unable detect that she would be a mental case in either of my scans!

I fear I may be baking another nut case what with the over active 12 weeks scan and the crazy 200bpm heart rate last week...hey ho, at least I'll be going in with some experience this time.I guess!

porcito · 19/05/2014 17:41

Yeah, I think the NHS say 18 weeks and 2 days (random number) and 21 weeks and 4 days or something like that, but as Yellow said, surely they can see more clearly after that? Here, they don't check everything all in one go anyway - at my '20 week' one, she gave a rough glance and then will go into more detail next time at 23 weeks. More chance to worry beforehand.

I'm now down to 20 mins between bathroom breaks. Makes invigilating exams very annoying. Thank god my classroom is next to the toilet. I'm thinking a catheter wouldn't be a bad way to go at this stage!

Georgebythesea · 19/05/2014 17:59

20 week scan all went well :) So relieved especially after being so sick! all looking good and found out we having a boy! Not sure going to tell everyone else though-hate the whole blue/pink-tractors/princesses thing and I know if we tell everyone we will suddenly get gender specific stuff given!

sazzlehopes · 19/05/2014 18:24

Goats I had mine today and I am 21+2 so it's fine.

And we are team blue! Another boy! I'm quite happy but my ds really wanted it to be a girl!! I think he's a wee bit disappointed!

anotherRoo · 19/05/2014 19:25

My 20wk scan should be June 5th, but we are moving house (3 hours away down the M1!) that exact week so I'm having to go through a bunch of deregistering/reregistering palaver at my new GP in advance and just cross my fingers that they can get me in for a scan within the window. I am rather concerned about missing it, but with so many other things to get concerned about at the moment I'm trying to keep the hormonal 'flapping' to a minimum and just deal with the things I can control.

We'll be finding out the sex (I'd be happy with a surprise by hubby wants to know) - no preference from my end other than healthy. Hubby definitely wants a little girl though.

Anyone else feel like after the 12 week scan time has sped up a little? Getting to 12 weeks seemed to take a lifetime. Maybe it's just me in my world of house-move stress ;-)

fedupofrainydays · 19/05/2014 19:26

matildasmam I'm so sorry to hear that your precious little boy was born too soon. Thinking of you so much, how heart breaking xx
