I'm missing my Friday nights! Having a curry just isn't the same without having one too many Vinos. Morrisons have pimms on offer. Would love one in the sunshine.

tak1ngchances · 17/05/2014 07:35

Loulou could you have a super diluted Pimm's? Loads of fruit and lemonade and just a splash of Pimm's...bet it would taste just as good

tak1ngchances · 17/05/2014 07:39

We tried for two years, not even a sniff of a BFP. During that time I also had two laparoscopies on which they found and treated endometriosis.
We finally found out that male factors were involved too and did IVF with ICSI in January this year.
And it worked! Have never been so relieved & happy as when I had my viability scan and saw the little heartbeat flashing away Smile

Captainmcgraw · 17/05/2014 07:47

So pleased for you taking. I found TTC so stressful and imagine IVF much more so. So glad it happened for you and the bean has stuck.

TroubleAndFyfe · 17/05/2014 08:14

Amazing how different everyone's experiences are. I am so grateful that we've had it so easy and don't take it for granted. My sister went through 2 years of TTC (including almost a year of her and her DP eating super healthily and not drinking) 2 lots of ICSI and thankfully fell pregnant with IVF and acupuncture. (No amount of relaxation would've helped as it was a sperm motility problem).
I'm 20 weeks today! It's gone so fast! My little one is very active which is lovely and I'm so looking forward to my scan on Tuesday. PGP is still amazingly good too so I'm feeling very, very lucky! Smile

tak1ngchances · 17/05/2014 08:53

Can't believe we are all around or approaching 20 weeks!
Where does the time go...amazing

mum2kiss · 17/05/2014 09:15

I found the time flew by between weeks 20-30 last time around so expecting the same this time!

Since having physio on wednesday I have been doing th exercises they recommended. Last night I didnt do them because I was just too tired...my hips hurt so much during the night and since getting up this morning it is uncomfortable to walk :( no more skipping exercises for me!

YellowWellies · 17/05/2014 09:25

You never seem to get a full house with motherhood. Pals that struggled to conceive often had amazing births. Those that conceived easily could have horrendous sickness. Whereas for me I find conception, pregnancy (never sick) and BF easy but natural birth, carrying to term and having a baby without severe allergies - didn't come naturally last time. No one seems to fly through everything with ease - on balance I'd rather have a more complicated birth than not be able to BF as its just one day. But don't go beating yourself up if one element (conception, MS, carrying to term, labour, feeding, bonding, getting your figure back, having a 'sleeper' etc) doesn't go to plan - to get a full house 10\10 everything as you wished is very rare. But women compare ourselves against that perceived ideal. Sad

diamondbutterfly · 17/05/2014 09:31

On the subject of conceiving, we were successful first time with both, was definitely such a shock as the media would have you believe it's v difficult. For those it took a while almost makes you think what is the point of the pill etc wasted effort in remembering!

Wow it is super exciting we are coming up to 20 wk scans, and crazy to think in 20 wks we will have babes in arms!!!

Loulou888 · 17/05/2014 09:48

taking that's a wonderful story really pleased you are where you are! Yes may have to sample a little pimms later. We have friends coming around later making the most of the weather! mum that's sounds awful hope it improves.

diamond I can't believe where we are either! The weeks dragged when being sick a lot glad to say I'm feeling 90% better with nausea. Keep thinking it must be a girl as I was ill up to 18 odd weeks with dd, but already huge and holding a lot of water so then I'm like ds. Oh well think we are still on for team yellow so won't know for another 20 odd weeks.

overthinker88 · 17/05/2014 09:53

19 weeks today! Where is the time going?!

Had to buy some maternity clothes this week - as I had 2 outfits I could wear..

Hope everyone is feeling ok, not long to go until 20 week scan!

fedupofrainydays · 17/05/2014 10:16

yellow well said, I agree! No one gets a full house!! For me with ds if had a difficult birth and he had colic and mild reflux but now sleeps very well! I also managed to bf for 9 months which I loved and did not take for granted.
Then had probs ttc #2 so who knows what will happen this time round.

I can't believe I'm almost half way. Hoping the next bit goes quickly as can't wait to get this baby in my arms safe and well. Lying down trying to feel movement and just had a big boot Grin because of my anterior placenta I find it easier to feel movement on the outside - when it actually pushes out rather than the inside.

Getting the paddling pool out today - ds is very excited!

YellowWellies · 17/05/2014 10:36

DH felt movement this morning too Smile

gunwalloe · 17/05/2014 10:54

I definitely pay the price for easy conception I get non sleeping baby's who breast feed around 22 hours a day

Loulou888 · 17/05/2014 12:27

Me too gun. Ds is 5 and only just started sleeping thru! He had two feeds in the night for months and months!

mum2kiss · 17/05/2014 12:51

Happy saturday everyone! What glorious weather!

Dd has gone off to her dads for the weekend and dp.and I are supposed to be cleaning...He's cutting the grass and im on mn so im expecting to get told off any minute now! Lol!

What are you all.up to this weekend?

I've also started feeling crushed if I sit back on the sofa...I literally start shallow breathing and start to feel pretty awful so I have to make sure I'm sitting upright! May have to invest in a birthing ball to sit on...I am dragging dp to dfs though so maybe I can get him.to invest in some new comfier sofas instead!

LondonJen · 17/05/2014 21:16

Oo I really fancy a super diluted Pimms now!

How was the sofa hunt Mum2?

I met a friend for lunch and she brought me a bag of bits for baby (new and used) and a good stack of her maternity clothes. So thoughtful. Isn't it nice when someone is so lovely and kind toward you?

mum2kiss · 17/05/2014 23:00

The sofa hunt got trumped by the fa cup final lol!

Its always great to get free baby stuff :)

Kirstipops · 18/05/2014 00:51

Just back from DH's cousin's wedding, it was a gorgeous day but I'm more than a wee bit gutted that I missed out on taking advantage of the free bar! Had a wee glass of Prosecco which was out of this world though. Now have a very drunk and hiccuping husband who's gonna be hopeless tomorrow....

fedupofrainydays · 18/05/2014 09:29

kirsti I find weddings hard when preg!! Everyone gets so drunk around you! We went to one when ds was 7 weeks old and I was most annoyed that it wasn't my baby keeping me up all night wanting feeds but instead my excessively drunk husband who rocked up stinking of jäger and crashing into the bed at 4 am and proceeded to snore his way through til morning!! He was best man but still!!
I've got one wedding in aug and now missing one in September so DH going without me (as in Canada and too close to my due date) and one in early jan when will still be bf so not much usual wedding antics! And this I feel is the last of the weddings for a while as most out friends are married or miles away from it!

fedupofrainydays · 18/05/2014 09:32

Anyone else find they have gone back to tea and coffee? I could not stomach the thought or smell, let alone taste in the first trimester but now I can't survive without one!! I have one normal caffeine and the rest decaf so hoping that's ok. One day at work I just was so tired I couldn't function so had two nespressos. Hope that didn't take me over the 200 limit! I googled and it seemed to imply one was about 75 mg so safe!! I'm a coffee addict so this is hard... Much harder than booze!!

YellowWellies · 18/05/2014 09:32

fed up doesn't the September wedding risk DH being out of the country if you go early?

DH is on a travel ban with work from August just in case. But I am paranoid!

fedupofrainydays · 18/05/2014 09:41

Yes it does yellow but it's his best friend. And I wouldn't want him to stay and miss it JIC. I will be 35 weeks so it's unlikely but not impossible. Was on time with ds. If there is any sign it's imminent then he won't go otherwise will have my sister and mum on call! My labour with ds was very long too (like 3 days) so hoping DH could poss make it back if got on first flight home!
It is was just any old friend I wouldn't let him go!!

fedupofrainydays · 18/05/2014 09:43

Ps we still questioned whether I would go too! But decided I didn't want to have it out there and then prob not be insured and return home to ds late and with an imposter - that would be awful!!

gunwalloe · 18/05/2014 09:58

Before getting pregnant I was majorly addicted to coke I was drinking at least 6 cans a day then at about 5 weeks I totally went of it but my taste for it has come back I'm being good and only having 1 a day I hope my Will power lasts!
