Thanks for the reassurance all, hoping to feel more relaxed after the scan this week! Prams are a minefield aren't they - so much choice!! We're going to have a look after the scan but just from internet research it's not going to be an easy decision!!

Thanks waffles. Yehh there was filming going on for the alan carr show for lesley. She mentioned that her daughter was tube fed like ds.

CumbrianExile · 11/05/2014 09:51

Velvet we got this travel system. www.amazon.co.uk/Disney-Condor-Travel-System-Classic/dp/B00300H87U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1399798167&sr=8-1&keywords=mickey+mouse+travel+system
Didn't get it off Amazon as my parents found it in a shop near them, so did get to try it out first (and it was slightly cheaper in the shop) and it feels very steady Grin

Missingcaffeine · 11/05/2014 11:46

I'm 21 weeks and can't feel anything (first pregnancy). I can't bring myself to buy anything either, but can't really explain why! Having said that, someone I work with had her baby at 26 weeks, so maybe I should start looking...

whiteblossom · 11/05/2014 13:18

MISSB have you felt any movement since yesterday?

hippy hope you had a fab wedding Smile

took ds to a party yesterday and all the mums know im pg, as ds blabbed. They said they had no idea and couldent tell (but I have been hiding it!) They were wondering where and how I have been hiding the bump. Its getting difficult to hide now Grin I feel a bit self conscious about it- does anyone else feel like that?

It did get spotted by a lady in a shop on Friday but I wasn't hiding it and she asked when I was due, so at least I know I looked pg rather than fat/bloated.

I think Im fighting off a water infection, so drinking lots and see how I feel tomorrow.

6 more days and the baby is 'viable' yay.

Missingcaffeine · 11/05/2014 14:13

white I feel very self conscious about my bump too. I'm happy showing it to close friends and family, but very self-conscious at work in a professional capacity and still feels strange that I have a bump.
I've been told that you should always discuss reduced movement with midwife and that even if you can hear baby's heartbeat on a monitor, reduced movement should still be reported as it may be an early sign of problems. I don't want to worry anyone with this, but it's better be ultra cautious than to risk anything. The expected heartbeat also changes as the baby grows, so it's important to know if the heartbeat is normal or not for dates.

velvet my advice would be to go to the biggest baby store you an get to, and try out everything you can. Kiddicare is really good, they don't have many stores nationwide but we found the hours drive to our nearest one was well worth it. You can go home and order online, and they have a really good delivery service for free if you spend over £50.

We had a multimac demo yesterday. It's a car seat that gets fitted into a normal back seat but takes 4 children Smile . Perfect for us as we don't have a huge budget, don't really want a people carrier if we can avoid it and we get to keep our car.

Bought some babygros in next, and they aren't pink! They had some nice blue ones for girls too. I might have to get some just to annoy DHs Grandma - she's lovely but does my head in with her ridiculous old fashioned opinions, which she makes well known! No doubt she will get her revenge by knitting about 40 pink cardigans....

cookielove · 11/05/2014 21:47

teabiscuit please can you tell me more about the multimac :)

Teabiscuits · 12/05/2014 11:35

www.multimac.co.uk (sorry on phone so can't do a link) They are suitable from birth to 12 years, and enable you to fit 4 kids in the back of most family cars - they can even fit a 4 seat one in a Golf! Completely legal and safety tested.
Very pricey for a car seat at £1500 just for the basic seat, but still much cheaper than a decent used people carrier.
Also our existing car is quite cheap to run, and any people carrier in our budget would likely cost nearly £400 a year on tax alone, not to mention fuel consumption!

Hope everyone is ok today, DS is very poorly, haven't had a decent night's sleep since last weds - all good practice for more sleepless nights I suppose!

CoolCat2014 · 12/05/2014 13:13

We've been offered a 6 year old silvercross travel system from SIL. DH wants something brand new, but I can't help think about how much money it would save us!

Any idea if a 6 year old car seat would still meet regulations? I'd never buy a second hand car seat, but 100% trust SIL and we'd have heard about it if it had been in an accident. Any thoughts?

CoolCat2014 · 12/05/2014 13:15

Also on the non pink clothes for girls (I'm almost allergic to pink, so in the same boat there) I noticed that both Asda and boots had some cute non pink stuff for baby girls :)

misog2000 · 12/05/2014 13:24

Scan in an hour, I'm really nervous.

holls2000 · 12/05/2014 14:26

Good luck misog - mine is tomorrow and I'm already nervous (which is sort of showing itself in majoy hyperactivity at work which is a tad odd). Let us know how it goes. x

ella I'm the same. Dreadful dreams (but I read somewhere that that is normal!) and not a huge amount of movement - a few wiggles during eurovision (I'm a music teacher so that made me pretty proud!) - at least I think they were wiggles. My bump generally hidden under fat, but is bulgy at the top! Mine is at 11.15 - and then seeing my consultant so may as well prepare myself for a day at the hospital! We've had such a struggle to get to this stage, I find myself panicing. HOWEVER - happy thoughts and all that! GOOD LUCK!! xXX

misog2000 · 12/05/2014 15:51

I'm home now, all is fine. Baby didn't want their picture taken so it took a while and I kept having to jiggle to try and get them to move.

Report says baby is 13oz now, I didn't expect it to be quite that big (stupid really!).

Ella I've not got much of a bump, or felt much movement and everything was ok for me so sure you will be the same, good luck for tomorrow to you and holls

cookielove · 12/05/2014 17:15

So glad tp hear that misog counting down the. days till mine now :)

whiteblossom · 12/05/2014 17:29

Congrats misog, are you staying team yellow?

Someone Ive not seen in a while asked if I had lost weight, she said my face was slimmer...!! er def' not and mentioned I was pg...she thought I was joking until I showed her the bump she nearly died of shock lol.

In the last two days I have ballooned, my bump is huge.

BexBoo12 · 12/05/2014 17:30

Coolcat I think the recommended shelf life (for want of a better way to put it!) is 5 years for a car seat Smile

Congrats on all the scans recently, it's amazing seeing how much they've all grown isn't it.

I seem to have completely bypassed the flutters and bubbles that I am supposed to feel and jumped straight to full blown kicks which started about 21 weeks, I'm 23+1 today Grin still haven't got hardly a bump. A little one but it's not even big enough to be seen through clothes!! The only time you can tell it's an actual bump is if I pull my top up!!! Anyone else on the smaller size?

Hope you're all well. I do apologise every time, but sorry I don't post regularly it's just down to being busy at work. I do read all posts daily x

misog2000 · 12/05/2014 18:04

Yes white blossom staying team yellow, wanted a surprise when baby is born. All my friends are convinced it is a boy, but I don't mind either way as long as it is healthy

DownstairsMixUp · 12/05/2014 18:13

Anyone else's DP turned into the "moody" one?!

Now I can't drink, I tend not to go to social events as I just find it depressing there sitting in my fatness, watching everyone get drunk so he comes home today and says he is staying at a friends party on the 31st of May for a bbq and drinks and will be back some time on sunday. I am not a needy/controlling type so i think lovely, will plan a trip home! thinking I'll go after work on the friday with ds, i finish late so won't be much of the day left but then i thought i don't return to work till tuesday that week so i was going to not come home till monday as saves using the shitty sunday services to on the trains (my home town is 70 miles away) anyway dp goes bonkers saying it's unfair and how he won't get to see me in the evening (he see's me every evening anyway!!) feel like this is turning into an aibu but i rarely ever go on my own back home and feels like he is just being needy wanting to do his thing but wanting me sitting round awaiting his return!

and breathe!!

CoolCat2014 · 12/05/2014 19:10

BexBoo - my bump is still small, depends which tops I wear, but it's only noticeable with tight fitting tops, I'm 23+6. I guess we are all built different, and I'm quite big-framed so recon baby has more places to hide.

Getting kicked constantly now!

Nazly · 12/05/2014 19:25

Downstairs I completely understand what you say... I just think this change of our life style hit our partners in another way, they don't have a baby in their bump and would not really feel it the way we feel it .... Until the baby is born... I guess these changes make them moody....

Ladies, somebody told me the other day that with the way my bump is growing, I am never going to manage a natural birth!!!! I didn't feel my bump is getting that big myself anyhow and isn't it a mean thing to say to some one? I am on a mobile device and can't upload a pic of bump to get ur opinion ladies, but may get a chance to do it later! I am 24 weeks tomorrow...

CoolCat2014 · 12/05/2014 19:31

Nazly - I think that's a terribly mean and bizarre thing to say! Are they a midwife? If no then ignore them, they are dumb!
