ilove so glad to hear everything seems ok, let's hope the pains stop, or you at least find out what's causing them x

congrats dazed! the numbers of blue and pink seem to be getting more even now Smile .

rockin20s · 08/05/2014 13:21

ilove glad things are ok!

I think i am becoming neurotic with travel systems/ strollers/ car seats! cant make up my mind, dont want to pay a fortune but want good quality.

i want something light (will be lifting it in/out of car alot) but durable! ah its a nightmare!

holls2000 · 08/05/2014 13:37

ilove glad you are ok and hope that the pains stop.

dazed how exciting!

My scan is next Tuesday. I alternate between massive excitement and then total fear. Not for me a calm, mature, sensible approach....

ella I'm the same. Have got wallpaper for nursery but other than that am holding off till next Tues. Then once that's over and hopefully good news, I am going to actually PLAN. Or sort of plan. Or at least walk into a shop and look at things and start to get my head round it...

ilovemonstersInc · 08/05/2014 15:01

I know I keep complaining and im sorry but it really hurts :( It does feel like im going to push anytime soon especially being sat on the loo (even without having a wee or poo) literally bringing me to tears:(

rockin have a look at the quinny pram with maxi cosi car seat. You will need adapters but I used the car seat for a year with ds1 on the pram. It was brilliant.

Dazedconfused · 08/05/2014 15:14

thanks Grin
holls I was the exact same both terrifed and excited.

I just let myself buy a wee bunny onesie is the first thing I have got.

StrawberryGashes · 08/05/2014 15:40

That sounds awful ilove, are you able to take any painkillers? If it's getting worse it might be worth giving the midwives another call, even if it's just to reassure you.

I second the Quinny buggy, I have the Quinny Zapp xtra and it's great, really light and compact. I also have a cosatto from their Supa range and it's great, it can be used from newborn, has a huge sunshade, and a compartment for popping an ipad or tablet in for baby to watch which I found invaluable when DD was teething and still hadn't fallen asleep at 4am! It also has speakers to connect your ipod but I've never actually used that.

ilovemonstersInc · 08/05/2014 16:09

Im going to ring the antenatal midwives and see if they can get me an appointment with my consultant asap so she can review the situation. I cant wait 5 hours in triage again plus to make situation worse grandad is terminally ill and has got bad over the last 24hours so extra family help is there. Atm I have no pain but once thepain is here its horrible. I would be having gas n air with that pain in hospital! I labour very slowly takes hours for any progression by myself which I think is whats happening stop and start labour. If pains stay like this and no more than this then I want to get pass my driving test date before anything kicks off (which I hope it doesnt) without trying to sound selfish but it needs to be done

StrawberryGashes · 08/05/2014 16:31

Ilove I'm doing my driving lessons ATM and hope to have it all finished before baby is here so you certainly don't sound selfish to me. Pop in to a pharmacy and find out about getting a tens machine, they're used in labour but people use them for other pain related reasons too and you should be able to pick it up straight away. It might help with your pain.

CoolCat2014 · 08/05/2014 17:10

I saw tens machines for hire in babies r us for only a few pounds per month if that helps?

Really hope the pain eases ilove

Lemoncello72 · 08/05/2014 18:52

thanks for the comments about the aspirin, took it yesterday lunch time and felt more rotten than usual so going to check with my stomach surgeon if I'm allowed to take it or if I will then need something to keep acid in check. Don't think a week will make too much difference which is when I'm off to the other hospital.
I did feel the little monster move twice today, I'd been feeling something like a pressure of something up against parts of me for weeks but these were definite flicker movements. Haven't felt anything today yet though, but have been a bit stressed so may have a bearing on either it happening or me feeling it.

topmammy · 08/05/2014 18:55

Bless you I love Really hope you feel better soon. I can understand how you really want to get your driving test done too.

rockin I feel your pain about the travel system nightmare! It hurts my head, I don't know which to get still tbh. Thought I was going for a mothercare one but after the fiasco that has and continues (!) to be of delivery of my nursery furniture (still not got it all) I feel like boycotting them. Perhaps a bit childish.... Blush.

Anyone got any experience of graco travel systems? DH likes them, I'm not sure though.

Glad operation eat cake is going well don't Cake hehe.

Argh work is stressing me out, or I'm just letting it get to me more due to general pregnancy hormones, I'm not sure. Cheered myself up yesterday though after a crappy day at work by buying some cute pink baby tights and a little hat :)

Kt1991 · 08/05/2014 20:31

How you doing Ilove I hope you are feeling well enough to take your test soon too.
I have the worst pain in my left leg all the way down every now and again, thinking it's the start of sciatica :S especially when I've walked quite far, is it worth me talking to the midwife about it now as unsure what I'll be able to have or do? Not due to see her again until 18th June when I'll be 28 weeks.
Had lots of movements today-22 weeks today too, the most I've had so far, only little movements, but don't think he's stopped all day! This pregnancy seems to be flying by!
I'm having a massive sort out tomorrow through all of DS's old clothes, so hopefully I can finally buy a few bits for this DS this weekend :)
Hows everyone else doing?

BexBoo12 · 08/05/2014 20:56

Just thought id share these deals that were just emailed to me from bounty...there's a quinny pram on it which I've noticed is a popular pram on here. I've uploaded the photos of the deals.

Sending you love and hugs ilove xxx

I'm eyeing up the Giggle in bizzy betty, or pink Sola which has free carrycot on.m&p.atm, choices choices there's too many lovely prams lol xx

waffles1990 · 08/05/2014 23:15

Ilove sorry I haven't replied sooner, sorry to hear about you having a tough time of it!!! I can empathise with triage being horrifically busy.

Fingers crossed it is just your uterus stretching and complaining - with this being your 3rd baby and the last pregnancy not too long ago, it's perfectly feasible you've got an 'irritable uterus' - this can be very painful like you're experiencing but generally doesn't indicate the baby will be premature. There may be an element of infection too contributing.

If they've taken a swab from down below it takes 48hrs for results to indicate any infection, so give triage a ring tomorrow evening or Saturday morning and enquire about your results.

Obviously any change in the mean time (loss down below/pain unbearable etc) make sure you go in!!! Fingers crossed things settle for you. How are baby's movements?

Regarding prams - I've just bought the OBaby Zezu Pramette for £169.99 on Kiddicare!! www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplay0_10751_-1_102415_10001

U can buy the car seat and isofix base for around another £100ish I think, still bringing the overall cost under £300. I think it's fab!! Check the video here -
m.youtube.com/watch?v=6LOc68XcZvY

Not the smallest folding but small enough, wheels easily removed.4* reviews. Comes in red, black or green too - I got the purple dotty one :) there is a non dotty version too of same pram but it's more expensive, £249 on Mothercare

dontevenblink · 08/05/2014 23:43

Just a thought about car seats, do try them to see how light it is. I had friends who had fairly heavy ones and they struggled to lift the seat and the baby after a few weeks. We went for the Maxi-Cosi cabriofix for this reason as it was so light (and also 6 years ago it was the best crash tested on Which), and it has been great. It also fits on a lot of prams. I am sure there are lots of great ones out there though, haven't had a proper look since dc1!
I'm having a bit dilemma at the moment as I just found out Maxi cosi says that they have a 5 year lifespan on their car seats and ours will be 6 1/2 years old by the time dc4 arrives... seems a shame to stop using something that is in really good condition, but also worried about if it will still be safe Confused. DH thinks we should just use it. Any thoughts? Car seats are really expensive here in NZ which doesn't help Sad

misog2000 · 09/05/2014 08:01

Ilove, hope you are feeling better soon, I've been having some horrible IBS pains the last few days and that's worrying enough even though I know what it is so fingers crossed they are able to sort out for you soon.

Felt baby kick for the first time last night, I had thought I had been feeling him/her bobbling around in there but wasn't sure then got a strong tap (had my hand there and felt it outside too) when lying in bed last night Grin

I was so lucky with my travel system, found a quinny buzz (which was exactly what I wanted as hubby's car is tiny) for sale on one of our local Facebook selling pages for £20 as it needed a new inner tube! Came with new carrycot, car seat adapters, both rain covers, cosy toes and blanket so was a total bargain. All I need to buy now is the pram seat which I can get for around £50 on eBay. Means I can wait till bubs is born (not finding out the sex) to buy the seat in one of the bright colours which is nice.

I'm going for the Maxi Cosi Pebble car seat (buying that new) as have seen reviews saying the head rest suited their newborn better than the cabrio fix (need Maxi Cosi to fit my pram), has anyone got any experience of either (clueless 1st timer here).

Scan on Monday, scared and excited, good luck to anyone else who has theirs soon.

Bananapickle · 09/05/2014 08:11

misog we have the pebble from my dd and are using for this one too. We really liked it and it's nice and light. My dd was very comfortable in it from day one. I would recommend it but I don't have experience of the cabriofix so not sure what the actual differences are.
I must admit we bought the pebble because I liked the bubble detail on it!! A really important reason!!
We spent quite a lot on a travel system when dd was born and then didn't use it from about 9 mths, partly as it broke and party because it was far easier to just use a stroller. I guess I'm saying just make careful choices as we felt we wasted quite a lot of money on something that we ended up not needing after very long but that might have just been us.
Have a good Friday everyone :-)

cookielove · 09/05/2014 08:43

I did a lot of reviews on the carseats carbrio fix and pebble, we saw them in shop and planned to buy online (we got the familyfix base and pebble for £217 on Amazon) basically the carseats are really similar, but apparently they are planning to phase the cabrio one out and just have the pebble. So the pebble has all the right requirements anyway!

ilovemonstersInc · 09/05/2014 08:57

Thanks everyone.

Waffles the only way I can describe the pain once it hits is labour pain, all that pressure before you push? It gets that bad sometimes I cant sit down because of it. I never had this pain with the other 2 apart from before having them! Uti ruled out. Its mainly at the bottom of bump, back and bum. It feels like the only way its going to get better is if I push Confused im not constipated, drinking enough of water, I dont have any 'classic' signs of thrush which I had a lot of in 1st pregnancy just so bloody confusing. When its not hurting I can get on with things but when it is it reduces me to tears. Even the bh hurt now, have to breathe through them.

I had the pebble too, brilliant carseat, very easy to take the cover off and wash. Its 4 years old in September and 2 babies on its still in good shape. Ds3 will be in that too. I had the maxi cosy too which I need to dig out. I dont really recommend that though as a blanket is better they grow out of it so quick!

ilovemonstersInc · 09/05/2014 08:58

Ohh and when I bought the car seat the straps are 'held up' so you dont have to dig around under a baby to get them which is a massive help.

ilovemonstersInc · 09/05/2014 09:01

Just re read your post waffles could this pain be because uterus didnt contract too well last time? That was the cause of the pph? Or can this pain be because of the tinziparin?
