Hi all,

New thread and probably our last in ante-natal.

Holy crap!

Hello Drama, I'm also due the 30th of June. Somehow it still feels like ages away yet also scarily close. I'm working till the 13th of June so still 6 weeks of work left and I'm not sure where the energy will come from but I'd be do bored and lonely if I stopped any earlier.

dramajustfollowsme · 04/05/2014 08:07

Yes, I'm fed up as I am not meant to do much at all. Very frustrating lying around when I know there are a million and one things to do.
At least on the days dd isn't at nursery, I don't have time or energy to be bored. She has been a star. She understands mummy can't do very much and has been very good for me on days that it is just the 2 of us.
She has been saving all the tantrums for times when daddy is home too! Grin

Hello again everyone. I really do mean to keep up with the thread, but find I don't have much time and less to say really. It's so different second time around, I just don't seem to think about bump that much. I'm managing to sleep still, which is nice, though I'm waking up tired so it's not that restful really.
I got my physio appointment through for my spd/hip pain. 22nd May. Pretty darn useless really! Still, my sister is posting me her support belt, which I'm hoping will help a bit till then. I'm not in much pain most of the time, but feel like my hip is constantly trying to escape its socket, so have to be very careful what I do, or the pain is excruciating though thankfully short lived.

I'm also due end of June, not really looked at the July thread, I have enough trouble keeping up with this one! Also, personally I find it more useful to be at the back of the bus than the front - you can see what's to come and prepare yourself :)

ohcluttergotme · 05/05/2014 17:20

Hi all, really bad at keeping up with this thread as find FB so much easier to keep up. Been getting a lot of pain in the ribs lately to and for the past 2 weeks really sharp twinges down below :-(
Was at an all day wedding yesterday and beyond tired today and so sore with SPD as really overdid things yesterday.
I've got 2 more shifts at work and finish up this Wednesday which now that I'm almost there feels very surreal!

SophiePickle · 05/05/2014 21:53

Who do I PM to get onto Facebook?

CleverOl10 · 05/05/2014 22:30

You can pm me. I've done it twice now so feel like an expert!!

rainbowweaver · 06/05/2014 02:16

Another one here being made redundant. Definitely a focus on pregnant women! Hmm Last day at work 9 May so an unexpected 2 months free before due date of 24 June. Very much looking forward to spending some exclusive time with DD before arrival of #2, and tacking some of the clearing and decluttering jobs that's been pending for years.

Will miss work though and most of my friends are working mums so no doubt there will be an adjustment period. sophie how long before you "got into the groove" as it were of being at home?

So far spd twinges have kept as they are - going to a chiropractor who specialises in maternity issues. Fingers crossed! And as fitness levels 2nd time round are higher than 1st time round - was running a 10k when I found out I was pregnant - am spending slightly less time lounging on sofa which is helping with keeping back mobile.

Snap on the rib pain clutter :(

jaykay987 · 06/05/2014 05:56

I dread to think what state I would be in without my chiropractor! I'm suffering more pain from sciatica than spd which currently is either mild or being well managed by the chiropractor.

I've read spd can literally disappear with birth. Anyone know if the same is likely with sciatica? I'm terrified I'll be stuck with this pain. It has peaks, but yesterday was a chiropractor day, yet by 6pm last night I was in tears with the pain and my normal stretches/weird contortions didn't do anything to relieve it. I then started to panic it might not disappear post birth.

Redcliff · 06/05/2014 07:33

I really feel for those with SPD or other major aches and pains. One of the other mums at school seems to have been in constant pain since she got pregnant I hope they all disappear for you once the baby comes.

On a lighter note I was at my brothers yesterday and we were talking to my mum about half term and she suggested chessington. . My brother gently pointed out to my mum that even if they let me on any rides the safety bar would never fit!

Mummymidwife87 · 06/05/2014 09:51

I did my back in last week jet washing the car. Off sick again today, and have GP appt this morning too to try and get some better pain killers. It's generally fine sitting, but standing and walking is horrific. Then I need to see my manager re. Sick. I don't mind working if I can sit down all day, which won't happen in the community

misshoohaa · 06/05/2014 13:02

Hope your GP sorts you out mummy midwife - back ache is horrific, especially if you have other children to run around with! Thanks

I've been referred for a growth scan on Friday as measuring 29cm at 34 weeks, I'm not that worried as was measuring small all through my first pregnancy so assuming its just the way I carry but looking forward to the reassurance of a scan I guess. I think the concern is I've dropped in my curve and only grown 3 cm in 6 weeks but I think the fundal measurement is often unreliable!

The temptation of another opportunity to find out the sex will be tough though!

Thanks clever I'll send it to you in a minute!

rainbow as soon as I finished work it was just a total godsend. This is my first so I've spent most of my time nesting and getting excited. I got a part time job as soon as I got laid off so I was still occupied with other stuff too.
I'm sure you'll find things to do!
I had all of my maternity pay etc sorted out and budgeted for when I left and then I got laid off so it kind of threw a spanner in the works. Hope things work out better for you!

Bump is really starting to ache now. Just general acheyness all over it. Not sure if it's just because everything is growing so fast or if it means things are progressing in the right way. Still 6 weeks left.

Think I could use a hot water bottle on the too of my bump? I feel like it might help but I worry it might cook the baby?

Mitchell2 · 06/05/2014 21:36

jaykay not sure about sciatica disappearing as I have it but had it before being pregnant. I would assume if it's pregancy related then it should clear up though.

Misshoohaa have no idea how you are able to not know the sex! Much respect - I knew about 10 weeks as I had the harmony test type thing. I def couldn't wait until the end.

Currently hitting a wall with aches and pains, I really need to slow down but when I feel good I just forget I'm pregnant and then pay for it the next day! At 34+1 it's only going to get worse!!

MarlenaGru · 06/05/2014 22:11

I had such a busy day at work then flew off to my fit class and now feel incapable of moving. Tomorrow is going to be equally busy and really instead of winding down before maternity leave I seem to be busier than I have been in months!!

Luckily I haven't got the dreaded aches and pains - I do have much empathy for those of you who have! I walk like I have a carrot up my bottom without pain so I really don't envy you!

Sareva · 07/05/2014 00:38

Jakay I'm like Mitchell - had sciatica pre pregnancy and it raises it's ugly head now and again but so far not in pregnancy .......I got Meralgia paresthetica instead! Like you, I've heard this can disappear for some as soon as they give birth, I'm praying this happens for all of us suffering.

Redcliff · 07/05/2014 08:20

Also having a busy time at work - have a day of meetings today of people all selling the same thing which is likely to be full! Had a bad night as well - woke up with trapped wind and it was so painful not only did I wake up DP he thought I had gone into labour. Took some rennies which made me throw up and then took ages to get back to sleep again.

SophiePickle · 07/05/2014 09:23

Trapped wind is the worst! I had it most nights early on and spent hours writhing around the floor in agony. When it finally goes and it's the smallest pump ever it's disappointing but a relief haha

I went shopping in town yesterday and by the time I reached te top of the escalator off the metro I was knackered. Still shopped for hours. I had to give in and use the lift in Primark though. I'm still in denial about needing to take it easy. Until I crash and burn. Usually in a toddler style tantrum. I'm not tired!!!!

Notfastjustfurious · 07/05/2014 22:22

Jaykay, ditto on the chiropractor don't know how I'd be now without her. Sciatica not so good though, I had a short spell of that last pregnancy but was able to shift her off the nerve. Nothing this time but a girl at work who had it is still occasionally bothered now and that's 5 years on.

Loads of stabby pains and general aches though and baby is really going for it on my ribs everytime I try to sleep. Next 7 weeks can't go fast enough!

Redcliff · 08/05/2014 07:46

I'm torn about wanting this time to go quickly - I can't wait to stop being so uncomfortable but so not ready for a baby. I have loads of baby clothes to wash, stuff to order, names to come up with - ahhhh

Sussex31 · 08/05/2014 07:57

The one upside of gestational diabetes is being able to have bacon sandwiches for breakfast without any guilt at all :)

wispaxmas · 08/05/2014 08:16

Redcliff, it's not the end of the world if the clothes don't get washed and name doesn't get picked! You'll have 6 weeks afterwards to choose the name Smile

MarlenaGru · 08/05/2014 10:55

I am terribly excited to evict my parents this weekend and use their drawers for the baby! I might have to do a baby wash Grin

noseymcposey · 08/05/2014 11:28

Getting excited here too.. currently 35 weeks and finish work a week tomorrow.. woop woop!

When I'm at work, I sort of think I'll miss seeing everyone every day. But honestly, when I'm at home I just don't think about them!

I can't believe in a few weeks baby will be here Shock Where has the time gone? On one hand I'm looking forward to wearing normal clothes again and sleeping lying flat and all that but on the other I so don't feel ready for baby to get here!! I've got a wedding to go to at 37 weeks and feel tired just at the thought of it!

Hope you're all doing well... after a rough start to pregnancy (lots of sickness and illness) I'm feeling pretty good apart from getting tired easily.

Get quite a bit of period pain in lower back. Nothing too uncomfortable but I can feel it niggling. DS was 10 days overdue though so don't think I need to start packing the bag just yet..... :)

noseymcposey · 08/05/2014 11:29

Marlena - completely read your post literally. Perhaps it's my own issues about not having the babies room ready that made me think you were talking about baby sleeping in the drawers!

aclxxx · 08/05/2014 14:04

Hello all June mums x feel guilty too I have not contributed much on this thread.
I am now technical on maternity leave or working from home. I pack up next week. It is such a relief I do not have to commute! I am 36 wks so less than 28 days to meet our DC2. Like everyone cannot wait to sleep on the front (if I don't have cs). But I do feel I will miss the bump. After a rough ride from morning sickness that went forever, am glad we have got to counting days.
I have joined yoga class called lazy daisy and will start some reflexology to ease the horrendous SPD and oedema ankles.

At some point DH and have to start thinking of names. We chose not to find out the sex, so this will be fun!
Happy Thursday MN

Aclxxx
