I feel she has pointed out a valid case of discrimination here and I should really shun you all, I didn't realise you all lived so far away from me out of spite! I thought it was just geographical chance but now I realise that I've been cut off on purpose.

I thought we were friends!!!!

Doop, the Facebook group is a secret group, you can't just search for it and join. It being secret means that no one knows we are in the group and for people who aren't facebook official that's important.

Also, I STARTED this June bus! Some of these women I've been chatting with since we were 4/5 months pregnant. we were the chattiest bus in the antenatal clubs section, and it was getting so so difficult to keep up and respond to everyone in the single thread format. Why would I want to go search for a random new group of people when I had already grown close to this wonderful group of women? Why shouldn't we try to make it easier for us to continue our growing friendships? Especially, as like Gilly, some of us were on the TTC buses for months before hand, supporting each other through squinting at pee sticks and good news and bad news.

I don't know if you are someone who has just changed their name to complain because you don't feel comfortable complaining as yourself, but that just goes to show that you don't have the same level of friendship or connection that a lot of us have.

wispaxmas · 11/05/2014 12:06

Err.. 4/5 Weeks, not months!

wispaxmas · 11/05/2014 12:07

See, another problem is you can't edit a post on here, and I'm forever making ridiculous baby brain mistakes like that Wink

GillyBillyWilly · 11/05/2014 12:12

Wispa I was going to say don't you mean 4-5 weeks!
We found out we were pregnant around the same time in the conception forum didn't we?! Smile
Ahhh SmileSmileSmile

wispaxmas · 11/05/2014 12:14

Yep, Gilly! I think it might even have been you that introduced me to that website where you upload a photo for people to vote whether it's a positive test or now, haha. My bfp got very mixed votes at first!!

GillyBillyWilly · 11/05/2014 12:15

Hahahahaaa!

GillyBillyWilly · 11/05/2014 12:31

Byeeeeeee!

misshoohaa · 11/05/2014 13:09

Well this thread has certainly picked up today! Wink

Doop, I'm not on the FB group but trying to keep this thread alive with some other mumsnet exclusive folk so your welcome to stick around - I have to say it is a bit sad we miss out on the news on the other thread but each to their own and FB is easier for most so can understand why quite a few have jumped ship but there's still quite a bit of chat on here so feel free to contribute to the ante/post natal chat if you are keen.

So who has popped? Guessing they were all a little early? Could we maybe add a stats thread with details of the births/due dates etc and encourage the FBers to update, I'd love to keep up with the birth announcements.

So my growth scan was a wee bit scary as baby is measuring small so back for scans this week and next, hoping we have a little growth spurt so that the word 'induction' is not mentioned again, I'm so desperate for a water birth again, the pool was a complete god send for me in my first labour so the thought of doing it without water freaks me out!

Hopefully though we'll get to term, and everything will be fine.

Well, that was an interaction. Doop no idea who you are but you obviously have no respect for the people who have been on these threads from the start. Oh and there are those who even do BOTH FB and Mumsnet Shock! Sometimes it is slower on here, but don't take it out on all the FB'ers - a conversation is two way.

misshoohaa - there are three who have had babies, one was over 37 weeks, two earlier at 35+X weeks. I'm afraid I don't know all their MN names so cant start a list. All girls (hurrah as at the 20 week mark this was becoming a boy bus!).

Also, hope the scans go well for you, they can be notoriously hard to predict what the weight will be so if you are on the cusp of small, I would push for the baby to be kept in as long as possible so you get a chance of a normal birth. I too am hoping for a waterbirth - so good to hear from someone who has done it before is keen for it again. Although I do have to concede what I want and what will happen in reality is likely to be a very different scenario.

I'm 35 weeks tomorrow and found a piece of paper from the hospital that said my bag should be ready.... hmmmm... may need to get onto that!

Notfastjustfurious · 11/05/2014 13:57

Scans can only ever be so accurate Miss, try not too worry. Hopefully next one will a huge baby.

I'm thinking of trying water this time but first I'll need a bit of spontaneous labour, never had that yet so for my very last baby it would be nice to see if I can actually manage that (I'm hoping baby reads these post and takes note) so that's a 37-38 week spontaneous relatively quick and pain free delivery with no or minor tearing only. Don't want much do I.

Mitchell2 · 11/05/2014 14:16

notfast Grin - I want a spontanious water birth I also want my baby to be born still in the amniotic sack, no real reason but I think it would just be cool. Oh and obvs no tear 5 hours end to end and totally without drugs.

I know that I'll probably end up with and epidural, forceps and a massive tear. But a girl's gotta dream.

GinandStripes · 11/05/2014 14:30

Mitchell - We went on the hospital tour on Thursday night and got handed that same piece of paper stating "You should have you bag packed by 35 weeks"

My boyfriend was very unimpressed with me that I was 35 weeks exactly and still haven't packed it.

I'm getting closer - we have some pampers now and maternity pads!

mylittlel · 11/05/2014 15:19

oh gosh, what have i missed here)

i must say that i used to just read this thread without writing anything, when and then i felt i have a question or what to share my opinion I started to participate more here and then in the end decided to join FB as felt I started to miss out on things. I think difference between FB and here is that FB is more personal, people are not afraid to share their life problems and good moments where as here i think its still more of a Q&A, and I dont mind either really its what suits you best. It would be of course nice to meet someone local for myself for instance so that chatting here can grow into something bigger but its a shame that other ladies live in completely different areas..

mylittlel · 11/05/2014 15:21

anyone watched Eurovision yesterday? while watching it I had a whole bucket of crisps and at night/early morning heartburn kicked in, i never felt that bad, i felt like im a dragon, couldnt sleep at all, had to wake myself up properly and go downstairs to drink yogurt, i think its a punishment for eating a lot(

mylittlel · 11/05/2014 15:22

Gina every time I ask my mw that i want to have a list of what to pack she tells me Im ahead of myself, which actually pisses me off, just bloody give me the list i think every time)) and im 34 weeks so kind of on edge now

Bumblebeesmum · 11/05/2014 15:23

EKpoma76 gave birth to Darcie at 35+5 weeks a healthy weight (I can't remember but I think 6lbs ish)
Sasafraz gave birth at 37+1 to Scarlett (I think also 6lbs ish)
There is another little girl Jemima also born at 35+5 who is having some complications I'm not sure of her mumsnet name though.

One of the births was intended to be a c section but she woke up 8cm dilated so had a smooth VBAC. I would like a birth like this!!!

I don't post much on here now as find it extremely difficult to use on my phone & also struggle to remember who is who etc but the fbk group is far from cliquey there are 70odd people groups of 5 here & there that meet up & people have joined throughout inc in the last fortnight. People who do want to join are always welcome.

BEEwitched · 11/05/2014 15:24

gilly I deserve every single one of those biscuits!

misshoohaa My last scan in Wednesday (36+6) stated his weight, and also said that the margin of error was +/- 508gr - that's quite a lot for a small person that only weighs around 2.8kgs, so it might be just fine.

I've also seen that some people were allowed their water birth as long as the induction with pessary worked, though I think that depends on hospital policy.

GinandStripes · 11/05/2014 15:41

mylittlel How annoying! If it helps this is what the list from my hospital says...

Toiletries
Towel for mum & baby
Dressing gown
slippers or flip-flops
Comfortable underpants (several pairs)
Maternity sanitary pads (a pack)
Maternity bra and breast pads
Nappies (a pack)
Cotton wool
3 x baby sleepsuits and vests
Blanket and hat
Clothes for you and baby to go home in
Phone, camera and charger
For comfort consider: Music/Massage Oil/Cold wipes/Water spray/Hot water bottle/ice pack/TENS machine / Massager
Lip balm and hairband
Water birth: Mirror, bathing suit and inflatable pillow/bath support, extra towels
Maternity notes!

GinandStripes · 11/05/2014 15:42

ooops missed Pyjamas/Nightdress off.

mylittlel · 11/05/2014 16:55

Thanks, Gina ) im thinking to take dressing gown, the one i have is not a long one and pink with heart do you think its will be ok or i will look weird there in it?!)

Redcliff · 11/05/2014 18:04

I think your dressing gown sounds lovely and ideal in terms of its usually really hot in the ward - am thinking my heavy towelling one might be a bit much.

Am feeling a bit rubbish today - everything seems to wearing me out and DP is really having to take up a lot of slack . I took ages to get to sleep last night worrying about stupid things - need to get a grip.

wispaxmas · 11/05/2014 18:22

I got this dressing gown from primark! Super lightweight, but would make a good extra layer.

Sussex31 · 11/05/2014 18:47

It's great to hear all the chatter today, especially the birth news! Congrats to those who have welcomed their little ones into the world already.

I was thinking it was a bit of a shame that almost everyone has moved over to Facebook but it is nice to see that lots of people are checking in here after all, there is just less posting.

I had planned to pack my hospital bag today after a little scare on Friday but the day seems to have flown and I haven't even located the bag I was going to use yet. Oops!

Only 2 days left at work though, then I can get on with some serious preparation and nesting :)
