Wow, things are moving so fast! Many congratulations LTT & Mcbaby and good luck today nanny! Hope I've not missed anyone. Love the pic of mini LTT, he's gorgeous.

Another beautiful day here, off to church to celebrate Easter then out to enjoy the sun. Taking it easy as I had my show yesterday. Finally got my backside kicked into gear and packed hospital bag - 39 weeks on Tues so should have done it ages ago! I think it can be days/weeks until anything happens after a show so trying not to get excited :)

MasterFlea · 20/04/2014 09:23

What a beautiful little boy LTT! I'm so envious.

You guys are all doing great. Pixie I hope your little pixie gets better soon. Thinking of you both.

Kally my clear out only happened after my waters broke and contractions started. Amazing what the body does. But I know it is different for everybody. Take it easy. I'm in awe of you being able to do an hour work, never mind a shift. I'd have collapsed by now if I were you.

Best of luck Minions sounds like you could be very soon.

I am bone weary today. Just want to stay in bed all day. This post is taking an age to type.

MasterFlea · 20/04/2014 09:30

Clearly just wanted to add my sympathy to you for burning yourself, then getting given out to over an accident and thirdly, breaking the LeCresuet dish. They are lovely.

So unfair for your DH to be grumpy with you.

I've given up now with getting upset over breaking things. It just happens, especially with DCs.

MoominAndMiniMoom · 20/04/2014 09:57

My clearout happened after the propess went in right at the start of the induction, along with my show and some of the hind waters which had meconium in! But the proper waters had to actually be broken.

Best of luck Minions! Sounds like you could be soon!

I'm sure we should've seen a health visitor by now, Celyn is 10 days old... is she missing anything from not seeing HV? I've not seen one at all before or after her birth! The hospital said shed be in touch but I've heard nothing.

Ah well, she's asleep here on my chest and she seems happy and healthy enough :) this is the best feeling!

ohdearitshappeningtome · 20/04/2014 10:05

Moomin did u not see
Midwife the day after discharge from hospital and on day five for weigh and heel prick test?

Mini me has
Just gone to the shop with his dad and they left me here bahahShock

ClearlyMoo · 20/04/2014 10:10

Thanks all! Foot ok this am. Just a bit red skin not broken and hardly any blistering! Think the fact that it's the foot that has been affected by my sciatic nerve problem and has been numb for over a month means that I'm not feeling burn pain... Every cloud!

Swimming pool was closed Fri & is closed tomorrow so I went and did a pathetic 16 lengths this morning. I had a dream that baby turned breech so that forced me swimming as I need it to stay head down, and re-engage if possible!!

MasterFlea thankfully it was only a dinner plate that got broken, and not the Le Creuset.., dinner plates were wedding presents and we had 13, most things we have 12 of (to allow for breakages) so I'm over it. Amazing how much better things can seem in the morning!!

Congrats LTT! Lovely to hear that news!

Seen the midwife but she said I should be seeing health visitor at the same time and she was really surprised they haven't been in touch. Got midwife again Tuesday so will ask then, I didn't think we needed midwife and health visitor at same time but apparently so Hmm

mumof2aimingfor3 · 20/04/2014 11:47

Hi ladies, I've been neglecting mn terribly as I've been living on facebook since I reactivated my profile. I knew I came off fb 6 years ago for a reason!

I am going to be tereibly lazy and no amount of discipline will be able to make me read previous threads so I am sorry if I have missed things, but I have kept upto date on the fb page with all the gorgeous new arrivals.
good luck today nanny

xx Louisa G tobe xx

kally195 · 20/04/2014 12:57

clearly hope your foot is OK. DH has banned me from lifting the big Le Creuset casserole out of the oven, as I am notoriously clumsy and he is convinced I will do similar. Just to prove his point, I managed to burn myself getting the bread out the maker this morning!

Thanks for all the comparisons on clearing out, and for the well wishes. Off to work again shortly, but am going to consider coming hone with an earlier shift if I need to. I won't be able to relax until I get the last few loose ends tied up!

Another daft question from me. DH was asking what sort of quantity of fluid we can expect if/when my waters go. I have explained they might not, or it might be a trickle rather than a gush, but I'm clueless as to whether there is an "average" amount of waters. Is there?

Squiffie · 20/04/2014 13:45

Shamelessly just place marking as away for the weekend!

Congrats to new baby arrivals, welcome new peeps and good luck today and coming days/weeks on impending arrivals!

Spirael · 20/04/2014 14:32

Busy here, so just popping on quickly. Wow, babies are coming thick and fast now! Grin Congratulations to the new arrivals!

Sorry, can't help with the waters question, kally. I have no idea when mine went last time! I know they hadn't gone when the midwife examined me to be 5cm dilated. DD1 arrived half an hour later and they'd gone by then, so it seems they went at some point when I was in the birthing pool.

Kind of hoping for the same again, the idea of my waters going outside of the birthing pool sounds both messy and a bit embarrassing. Wink Though I'm sure at the time I won't care on either count.

mumof2aimingfor3 · 20/04/2014 15:01

kally to be honest if you are standing and your waters go it wont be much more than what a sanitary towel can hold as the babys head acts like a stopper. If your laying down though their head doesnt fit as flush so could be more as it depends how ruptured the membranes are. Both times my waters went I was on the loo. Went to stand after having a wee and felt as though I peed a bit as I stood, it was my waters going.

loopylou52 · 20/04/2014 15:45

Wow, waters going on the toilet or in the birthing pool sounds handy!

Just dropping in quick to say hi and eeek, I'm officially in the drop zone! Made it home after the weekend away for my friend's wedding. Car journey was hugely uncomfortable both ways though - mainly due to constant pressure on my bladder. Baby has been moving like crazy though so I'm paranoid they've got themselves into a bad position after me sitting in the car for so long, so I plan to spend the rest of the day alternating between sitting on the ball and laying on my left.

dobedobedo · 20/04/2014 16:12

kally my mw said it could be a tiny trickle or a gush. When my waters went with ds, they flooded the place! I was in bed though.
I'm sleeping with a waterproof mattress cover now just in case!

LongTailedTit · 20/04/2014 16:53

Re waters, with DS1 they broke as I got up out of bed, it was like dropping a cup of tea! They then trickled/leaked at a similar rate for the next two days, as the waters refilled a bit. Mucous plug lost the next day, contractions started the day after that.

This time, waters broke in the birthing pool at some point, prob about 7/8cm dil, I felt a pop/twang but saw no evidence. I didn't lose the mucous plug til mid-labour either.

ToastMakesMeHappy · 20/04/2014 17:21

Congrats to all who have had their little ones :) so exciting.

ToastMakesMeHappy · 20/04/2014 17:21

And thank you for the welcomes!

kally195 · 20/04/2014 20:01

Thanks for all the waters info ladies xx

Sounds like towels near/in the bed is an idea, along with a waterproof mattress protector or something! We are both a bit concerned about the effect a sudden gush of waters might have on our gappy floorboards Grin

I think I will be moving upstairs to the guest room soonish anyway - I feel it is too unfair for my bonkers sleep pattern to disturb him when he will be carrying on with our frankly insane 12 hour shift pattern. That means I can sleep on whatever anti-water contraption I want!

About three hours to go then we start the journey home - then I just have one shift next Saturday and I AM DONE!!!! Just found out that my team are all bringing goodies in for the shift next Saturday and giving me a little send off. So lovely - we've only been part of the team since we moved back to the UK in September and they have made us feel so welcome.

ClearlyMoo · 20/04/2014 20:43

Hello. Anyone else eaten a little too much choccie today? Or is it just me?!

Lovely day swim then church then lunch at in laws then too much cake and choccy!

Anyone else have pains they can't tell are contractions or the baby socking it to them big time?! Ow! Either way!

Happy Easter Maybies Thanks

Crazy cleaning going on here today, it's clearly nesting as I'm a terrible housekeeper. I have the mad panics that the bean could arrive any day putting paid to having any real chance of 'getting stuff done' for at least six months, can't bear it, house is tip, well was, improving daily now Grin. Also cooked a heavenly roast, ate loads and now tucking Into DS Easter eggs....

Is anyone else suffering terribly with restless legs? Could cheerfully cut my buggers off tonight.

kally195 · 20/04/2014 21:01

clearly unfortunately not Sad. I really don't feel like eating chocolate at the moment! I seem to be wanting healthy (ish) stuff. Weird!!

I can't tell if the tight stuff going on at the bottom of my bump is BH or the baby having a squirm. Was definitely getting fanjo daggers earlier though Grin

CbeebiesIsAboutToPop · 20/04/2014 21:03

Sarah I found cutting out squash has reduced my restless legs, then the other big I had a bag of skittles and they were really bad again! So now I'm cutting out sweets and squash and it seems to be under control (it was so bad it was pretty much restless body syndrome, everything would just jump :()

LongTailedTit · 20/04/2014 21:17

Evening all, happy Easter! Easter Smile

DH just said to me "Aw, DS2 looks so much like you, the mouth, and around the eyes and cheeks. And the hairy arms." Hmm Thanks DH!

It's true, we've produced another monkey-child, he even has tufty ears just like DS1 had.
He also has a very pronounced 'Mongolian Blue Spot' birthmark over his bottom, looks like he's sat in a puddle of ink. Iirc it'll probably fade in a few years, but FIL has already taken a pic of it to embarrass him with in future years!

MrsFooCough · 20/04/2014 21:32

cbeebies and sarahjinx I'm having terrible restless leg. Have been for weeks. Only my left leg at first but last night it got SO BAD that I kind of burst into tears and sobbed for about 40mins because it had spread to my other leg and my arms. I have advice that iron supplements can help, so have any of you iron supplement/spatone ladies been suffering with restless legs?

kally195 · 20/04/2014 21:42

mrsfoo I've been on iron (ferrous fumurate) since 29 weeks, and haven't had any restless legs. However, I didn't have any before that, so no way of telling if not getting it is as a result of the iron.
