Oh and definitely ask visitors to do stuff while they are there! Put a load of baby clothes in the washing machine, do the washing up, make lunch. You are to stay on the sofa and do nothing, taking care of callie is your number 1 priority, not making cups of tea and handing round biscuits, if they do t like it they can leave xx

randdom · 18/04/2014 12:02

Moomin sorry you are feeling rubbish. If you have one it might be worth checking your temp the next time you feel hot. If it is up the you need to let someone know.

34 weeks to go. Three more work shifts. I am getting a bit scared now.

sambababy · 18/04/2014 13:45

Hello everyone, hope those of you not yet on maternity leave are enjoying the day off!

Happy birthday for yesterday clearly Cake

juniormint we're due date buddies! If they let me get that far.

I'm totally in denial that I could go into labour naturally at any time. But look how many lovely maybies are here already! Please keep the newborn updates coming.

ditsydebs have you looked at the spinning babies website? I found it v confusing but there are some interesting exercises you can try.

Thank you again for indulging me in my winge yesterday. I've turned completely paranoid now and keep convincing myself the baby has stopped moving. DH says the baby could be sleeping and I should stop poking Blush

moas · 18/04/2014 14:02

Incredibly hormonal and unfair to my surroundings today! Lovely sunshine, went to park with DH and DS but still feel grumpy as hell. Off for a snooze now.

dobedobedo · 18/04/2014 14:22

Dh is off work today so we are having a lazy day. I've just bought the biggest pineapple you've ever seen and made myself a smoothie with half of it. Grin Yum! I may as well take advantage of not having heartburn now that baby is engaged! (and you never know, maybe the bromelin will help things along)

Now I think it's nap time. I seem to be napping a lot lately!

Quick question: how long after the whooping cough jab will it take my arm to not feel like it's falling off? It's killing me!

PixieBumbles · 18/04/2014 14:28

Back in hospital Sad. Xander has lost 14% of his birth weight despite my best efforts at expressing and he is jaundiced. Also just found out his blood sugar level is very low despite a big feed not very long ago. To say I am gutted is an understatement. I feel like I've completely failed him.

Choppa · 18/04/2014 14:50

Thanks for the new thread Clearly?

36+4 here so nearly in the drop zone.

Pixie...it sounds like you are in the right place and you are doing everything possible for your baby. The first few weeks are so hard with the feeding...especially if you have a baby who doesn't 'get it!!' The hormones make everything feel much worse too. He will be fine and you're doing great xx

Final purchases to make here...tens machine and pool liner. Midwife coming to the house on Tuesday to book me for home birth hopefully. Then I just need lots of luck for it all to happen! My prediction is 15th May and 9lb2oz baby :)

MoominAndMiniMoom · 18/04/2014 15:16

Sorry to hear that Pixie but at least he's in the best place for him. You're doing a great job, I wish I'd persevered with the breastfeeding but the hormones were hitting me very hard so I am in awe of those who can push through that and continue like you're doing!

Ooh Choppa it's all exciting! Feels like only yesterday we were comparing 12 week scans and now some of us have babies and the rest are preparing for them very soon!

ILs came over this morning; OH's dad is completely besotted with Callie. It's amazing to see; he's the very stereotype of a proper gruff Welshman, never gets over-emotional, really dry humour, and yet one look at that little girl and he admits it himself, he melts! He stood there for half an hour today telling her how beautiful she is and plotting where she'll be staying at their house when they take her back to give us a 'break' Grin it's lovely to see :)

bushprincess · 18/04/2014 15:45

pixie don't beat yourself up - you're doing brilliantly and in no way are failing little xander, but you're both in the right place and I hope things are on the up for you soon, big hugs and keep us updated

moobaloo · 18/04/2014 16:14

Pixie you are not failing! You are doing the best you can for your little boy and he will be fine, please don't beat yourself up xxx

Moomin, that's lovely about your Fil!

Samba - I feel your nerves! Not had lots of movements all day and just rang hospital who've told me to drink a cold drink and lie on my left hand side for 2 hours and call back if I've not felt significant movements in that time. I'm sure everything's fine and I don't really want to go to hospital to have them check a healthy baby but I can't help being nervous and 2 hours feels like ages away! Aaaaahh

I may be over thinking because of the growth scan thing, but I don't want anything to go wrong with my baby!!

psynl · 18/04/2014 16:41

Checking in on the new thread. Just waiting to be discharged from the hospital. Everything has gone really well since birth (apart from the fact that my baby is still nameless!) Hope everyone with babies is well and everyone still waiting are not too fed up

SarahJinx · 18/04/2014 19:07

Oh Pixie please don't be feeling the guilt (I know you will no matter what anyone says) something is amiss and you are defo int he right place to find out. Breast feeding is REALLY hard for so many different reasons, and there are so many different emotions attached to doing it too. Remember that no matter what happens now, you will be able to pick it up again if you want to, or mix feed, or switch to formula if that is what you decide is best. You're his mum and you call the shots, and he'll be absolutely perfect no matter what.

Hugs xx

snoozysleeper · 18/04/2014 20:09

Thank you for the new thread clearly and a belated happy birthday too!!

I hope you're feeling better moomin

moobaloo I hope you feel those movements in the next 2 hours

JessicaRRRabbit · 18/04/2014 20:18

Have been there Pixie - won't tell you not to dwell/beat yourself up because I still do 20 months later Sad. But you are in the right place to get through this. Have you got anyone from la leche league/bf consultant to help you and Xander along? and thinking of you. Thanks

ClearlyMoo · 18/04/2014 20:28

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I feel like I've worked like a trooper today. Spent the morning making a lamb hot pot 3 x 2 portions for freezer AND a chick pea and butternut squash curry for lunch/ 2 x 2 for the freezer as well. Then this pm after an 90min nap DH and I have tirelessly tidied/rehomed and moved stuff around in the nursery. Tomorrow a new chest of drawers arrives so we had to get ready for that! It feels so good to finally have attacked it all!

Pixie I hope little one gains weight soon.

Moomin I'm glad visit went better.

My baby is still doing womb disco. It has definitely disengaged self which is annoying. Hopefully will get back in the right position soon. I just don't understand why after 4 weeks of being engaged it suddenly popped up! Perhaps it didn't want to be a cone head!

Have nice evenings everyone!

moobaloo · 18/04/2014 21:25

Thanks guys, didn't feel more than a tiny wiggle in the two hours so went to the hospital, they were excellent and of course he tried to kick the trace off Hmm everything normal. He's in the right position and 1/5 engaged. I was probably overthinking due to worry about the growth scan and also he probably is running out of space so I'll get more wriggles than kicks now and having an anterior placenta probably doesn't help! Feel v relieved now though, glad I went and didn't worry all weekend.

Psynl - glad everything is going well! Smile

Clearly - sounds like a busy day! Well done you! I haven't done any cooking for the freezer yet, maybe next week but it's looking pretty busy so far!

psynl · 18/04/2014 21:53

We are home at last and it is so nice to shut the door to the world and enjoy the peace!

dobedobedo · 18/04/2014 22:45

moo glad everything is okay! Such a relief to have it confirmed.

I'm in bed now. I've had BH all day, and keep getting crampy period type pains, again. Which lead to no where. They're not sore enough to stop me talking or anything, but I hope this doesn't continue for weeks on end!

Hope everyone is enjoying the long Easter weekend! X

mrsmummytobe · 18/04/2014 23:18

Just caught up on all the news. Thanks for the new thread clearly & belated happy birthday.

Congratulations on all the new arrivals! Loving all the gorgeous photos on fb. Welcome newbies. And sorry for all those having a hard time. Breastfeeding sounds like a total minefield & all you new mummies are doing a fantastic job so please don't feel guilty about any decisions made along the way. My mum failed at bf-ing me & I know she felt a lot of guilt over it. Bf- ing or ff-ing, your babies will be getting nourishment & growing up to be healthy either way.

On a self-centred note, I posted this on fb but for those of you who remember me moaning a couple of months ago about mortgage issues, it has all been sorted out, worked out brilliantly & we are moving into our new house in 2 weeks (a week & a half before the LO is due!!!)

PotatoPolly · 19/04/2014 02:38

ah mrsmummy that's brilliant news!

moom I spotted that was you on that feeding thread, & couldn't not call that other poster on their comment- I hope you didn't mind!

Very little to report over here, had a few bh today but nothing major, as someone else posted, I'm back to the symptom spotting of the 2ww!

happy bank holiday weekend everyone Grin

Minions · 19/04/2014 08:06

It's a holiday and it's sunny, woohoo! Happy Easter everyone :)

Hope all the new mummies are all doing ok, sorry to hear some of you are having a rough time.

This is the least important question you'll get today but I'm not happy....took my wedding & engagement rings off last night but can't get them back on. In the grand scheme of things I know this is tiny but I hate not wearing them. Will I ever get them back on?

SarahJinx · 19/04/2014 08:21

minions horribly, I still don't wear mine...initially i was worried about 'catching' DS teeny delicate skin on the stone, but then got out of the habit. Then, I piled on loads of weight beast feeding which I never lost Shock ! Just started to fit again when I got the bfp...

DP hates that I don't wear them, I've promised him after this one!

biscuitnoodle · 19/04/2014 08:41

Can I just ask a quick question: why would something as bland as chicken and veg soup give me such ferocious heartburn last night that I thought I had turned into a fire breathing dragon???

Happy easter everyone - hope you can enjoy nice food and chocolate without too much heartburn Smile

McBaby · 19/04/2014 10:00

Mini mcbaby was born on Thursday morning at 8.15 weighing 7lb 2oz. Both doing well at home.

The whole thing took me by surprise after she was spotted as being transverse on Tuesday morning, Tuesday we had ECV and induction started. Labour took a while to kick off as it was a few weeks early but was officially 45 minutes of active labour and delivery.

Hope everyone else is doing well and the end if pregnancy is in sight.

moobaloo · 19/04/2014 10:18

Wow McBaby!!! Huge congratulations! Well done you Smile Name yet?

Can someone clever add a "babies born" section to the stats doc with date, weight, name etc?? I've lost track already!
