Huge congrats Nanny - hope she is back with you soon xx

dobe that must be frustrating! I got up at about 4am and in my fuzzy, I've only been in bed 2 hours state, was convinced something was happening. I was wrong. Think it was just baby wiggling down further - I now understand the whole "feel like there's a melon between my legs" thing.

No work again till Saturday. Really looking forward to the chance to get a load of stuff done around the house, and to getting some rest so I can shed this cold. Had enough now!

dobedobedo · 21/04/2014 10:34

Good luck xav! Grin

kally Apparently the latent stage of labour can last weeks. It can be stop start too. Hope it doesn't last that long, if this is what that is!

Right. I'm off to clear out the spare/baby's room and ds's room. May as well get this nesting over with!

Hope everyone has a good bank holiday Monday! Brew

mumof2aimingfor3 · 21/04/2014 10:34

Congratulations nanny nice healthy weight and what a beautiful name :) hope she is doing well. Thinking of you both. Xx

good luck xav

wm3010 · 21/04/2014 11:15

Hi ladies, can't believe you are on page 3 of the new thread already! 37+4 here, feeling knackered but have now finished work so hoping to get a bit of a rest before the big event.

Congrats to all of the new mums, lovely to see photos on fb too. Sounds like one or two problems, hopefully everything resolved shortly.

ClearlyMoo · 21/04/2014 11:34

Oooh congrats Nanny! Good luck Xav for tomorrow!

Nursery now taking shape. Chest of drawers arrived on Saturday with John Lewis rubbish delivery men making giant dents in our walls grrrr. It was half price (£500 off) and yes I know that's an awful lot for furniture for nursery but it's solid oak and a wedding present and intended to last forever. It was reduced due to a small crack that DH has fixed in 10 mins with glue and a clamp! Feeling proud of him! We wouldn't have spent £1k on it though even tho it is lovely

My Mum is supposed to make some bunting for nursery too, but she's faffing with a quilt that we won't use in cot for ages first. She texted me saying "I'm not rushing with bunting" gah! Not sure why I'm impatient. A newborn isn't going to look at bunting! I think it's cos annoying friend came over last week and opened door to spare room cheeky when she went up to the loo and said "can I see the nursery?" She was greeted by piles of laundry books/junk and baby stuff stacked up in a room with mould on walls. We've come a long way since then and the mould is all gone HURRAH but since we can't decorate (it's effectively a rental property even tho we own it long story) bunting is the one thing we can do to make it look pretty!! Gosh listen to me grumbling about such a minor thing!!

Hope everyone is enjoying having DPs home for the bank hol. Farmers don't get bank hols so he's out working.

Huge congratulations nanny and welcome to the world poppy!! I do hope she's out of nicu and back with you asap. thinking of you Thanks

Good luck tomorrow xav hope you get the childcare issues sorted so you can relax the rest of today and be ready for the big day tomorrow, can't wait to hear your news.

lots of random feelings low down over the last few days... 2 days till fully baked but DH not getting back in the country for 18 days so little one not allowed to think about coming yet!!! starting to agree with DH that he should come earlier....so difficult to know!!

sambababy · 21/04/2014 13:40

Yay another maybie baby! Congratulations nanny!! I'm sure she'll be fighting fit in no time.

xav I hope you're able to get excited when the time comes tomorrow. I'm sure your new LO will put a huge smile on your face Smile

I'm not having any painful BH yet or pressure down below but I am finding some of the BH very paralysing! Particularly if I need the loo. It's like going around as normal and suddenly playing musical statues Hmm

Happy Easter Monday to you all x

ClearlyMoo · 21/04/2014 14:40

Samba that's what my BH are like too. Temporarily paralysing and worse when I need a wee!

OP posts:
kally195 · 21/04/2014 16:24

Did anyone else find that, around the 36 week mark, their appetite disappeared?

samba and clearly snap. That's what made me think something was happening this morning, as walking to the loo was very difficult with the fairly intense pressure/tightening.

loopylou52 · 21/04/2014 16:48

That's just what mine are like too. They seem to be worse with my underbump jeans on too.

Definitely haven't had any loss of appetite!! Grin

MoominAndMiniMoom · 21/04/2014 17:28

Welcome to the world Poppy, congrats Nanny and hope she's back with you soon - she's in the best place xx

Good luck tomorrow Xav! And anyone else getting close on popping, I'm strangely jealous! I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

which brings me to... I can see why they recommend you sort out contraception soon after birth. My sex drive is ridiculously high the past few days and I'm incredibly broody, which is ridiculous because I loved birth but hated pregnancy, and I don't intend to go through it again for another six or seven years... or maybe three or four. I'm not sure I can wait six years!

moobaloo · 21/04/2014 18:13

Loss of appetite 34/35 weeks for me, now 36 and it's started coming back! Still can't eat too much in one go, but definitely more enthusiastic about food than I was!

Clearly - nursery sounds lovely! Glad it's getting there!

I have been nesting this afternoon and have cleaned the bathroom to within an inch of its life and all the vinyl floors in the house have been washed and I have washed the doors... That might sound a bit odd but I hadn't realised how grubby they were! HV this week so want it to be spotless!

Hope bushbaby doesn't come until your dp arrives bushprincess!!

ClearlyMoo · 21/04/2014 19:39

Today I've sorted through my hundreds ofCDs and put them all in a big cd folder.

I am however having killer pains that are lasting over one minute. I don't know if they are contractions or not. They are below /at bottom of my bump and have quite long gaps in between.
Have had so many BH over last fortnight I don't know what to think!

OP posts:
BlanketSky · 21/04/2014 19:51

Oooh, clearly sounds promising. Time the gaps in between?

Congratulations Nanny and hope Poppy is back with you soon.

Moomin that's the hormones... Wink I remember that well but had too many stitches to do much about it for several many months

Good luck tomorrow Xav.

Bush hope little one stays put. If it helps I've had low pains/BHs etc for a couple of weeks and nothing yet- 38 weeks today.

I have my pre-op appointment tomorrow, beginning to seem a bit more real. Hospital bag is basically packed now except the last minute things, that and in-laws (emergency childcare!) back from their caravan makes me feel much more relaxed about suddenly going into labour...

McBaby · 21/04/2014 20:41

Clearly all my contraction pain was very intense pain right under the bottom of my bump all they way through both labours. The midwives thought it was unusual but it can happen. So it could be a good sign that labour is on its way.

ohdearitshappeningtome · 21/04/2014 20:56

I seem to have forgotten to eat today!!Confused

ClearlyMoo · 21/04/2014 21:59

Thanks for contraction feedback. Haven't had any for 1hr30 so assuming BH up to their tricks again!

OP posts:
Minions · 21/04/2014 22:51

Ah, was getting excited for you clearly! I used to get BH quite regularly but since stopping work I hardly get any (if any). Bit frustrating, 39 weeks tomorrow and I'm sure I've had my show but no other signs at all. Well, off for more lunches this week I guess, could be worse ;)

moomin, that's good to hear! Not sure logistically how it will work but good to know!

All the very best Xav, can't wait to hear about the next arrival! Hope all goes well x

bushprincess, hope LO is listening to you! Will keep everything crossed for good timing.

Been listening to Natal Hypnotherapy track & reading book. It's making me quite excited for the birth (ha ha, hope that lasts when it actually starts!). Found website a bit confusing but basically you can just download bits and not everything - I'm using birth prep mp3 & reading book. £20 for those two & you can start straight away since it's downloadable. Not necessarily recommending it since haven't given birth yet but it's putting me in a good frame of mind if nothing else.

Cake for anyone I've missed (inc you oh dear since you've missed your meals!). Night night, we're all a day closer...

PotatoPolly · 22/04/2014 03:00

bush sending 'sit tight' vibes to bushbaby!

moom glad to hear it, my dh will be pleased if that's the case over here!

oh clearly that sounded really promising!

I'm fairly sure I lost my plug this afternoon, so am wide awake symptom spotting, even though I know it could still be weeks Sad my bump is quite tender and I've had a couple of bh laying here (I think one woke me up!) someone hand me a grip...

still thinking of you xav Thanks

MasterFlea · 22/04/2014 06:26

Congrats Nanny. I hope Poppy is back with you soon. Thanks

I have my mw appointment today. Hope that it will be the last one. I bet my weight has rocketed though as I have been eating lots of rubbish the past week. My legs, feet, hands and face are all swollen. Even my gardening crocs were squeezing my feet. I may end up wearing DH's shoes at this rate!

And miniflea is giving me, what feels like, smears from the opposite direction. Lovely!

Only 2 more days until we are in the drop zone too.

JuniorMint · 22/04/2014 07:53

Congratulations on all the recent babies! I'm 37+1 today so have entered the drop zone! It's also my first official day of maternity leave today (am a teacher so have been off for Easter hols but today is official start date with everyone else going back!)

Love just reading through the thread to hear about how everyone is doing and what's going on. Not much going on with me really, just the usual heartburn/indigestion! Blood pressure was slightly up at last appointment last week so am seeing midwife tomorrow morning.

Have a good day everyone Smile

CbeebiesIsAboutToPop · 22/04/2014 08:03

Moomin you'll want to watch that! In a few months time ou won't even remember why you hated pregnancy so much, you'll remember labour as a pain free breeze and wonder what all the fuss is about! It's natures way of making sure we continue to populate the planet! Wink
It'll calm down as you deal with the realities of sleepless nights and caring for a newborn xx

SarahJinx · 22/04/2014 09:22

God, I didn't have so much as a smidgen of a sex drive for months after DS!! Perhaps a nicely stitched up fanboy put paid to that....!!!

Wanting to wish al the best today to Xavielli for a straightforward, quick birth so she can get self back to the ranch asap!

Nanny, hope all is going well for Poppy, and that she's back with you soonest.

Bush, what a dilemma, you just can't know, how long do you have left?

Not sure who it was that mentioned appetite but I'm stuffing my face. This baby is huge, feels long too and when it stretches it is ridiculously uncomfortable, I can't rest at all, but I can eat! Sitting back makes me breathless, as does laying in any other position than on left, legs are restless jumping beans and in TMI news, discharge is at stupid levels, I still think it might be wee leaks, which is nice.....

ohdear forgetting to eat or not having 'time' inmate whirlwind of having a snugly newborn at home? I totally relate to that, the time seems to fly by.

38+1, we're spending the day watching the Gruffalo and building giant duplo towers, so.

Hope all have a good day x

MoominAndMiniMoom · 22/04/2014 09:28

Sarah my stitches are acting as contraception Grin they're the reason he's not allowed anywhere near me for the foreseeable future no matter how much I want it Grin

second-timers, when should the stitches stop being sore, and when should the uterus stop contracting down? I'm still in so much pain with it! :(

Vikks · 22/04/2014 09:31

Nanny hope Poppy is back with you today Thanks Thanks x

Xav Good luck today, so excited for you! X

Moomin your posted made me smile...cold shower Grin

I think something maybe changing, I noticed a bit of pink when I when to the loo yesterday. Sound promising? I never had a show last time (induced at 42 weeks) so I'm not sure what to expect but I'm taking it as a good sign. I so want to go into labour on my own this time.
I'm at the hospital later for 36 weeks bloods, is that routine?

36+4Grin
