What a lot has happened in the last few days!

Hope everything is going OK with Saka - will be looking out for an announcement. So glad that there were people around at the weekend to help.

Hana: congratulations! Glad everything went well in the end, despite your health scares. Sounds like a good weight.

Also thinking of Whiffy who should be in theatre at the moment - we should have another baby by the end of the day

All go, isn't it?

Swizzler · 18/09/2006 11:27

Stop press: Saka has had a baby boy at 8 lb 5! They got the dates v. wrong (obviously ). Another October baby already.

I'd link to the thread only I don't know how - it's under Childbirth and called Help.

Justers · 18/09/2006 11:52

congratulations saka i hope you and the wee one are doing well X

sallyrosie · 18/09/2006 12:13

What brilliant news! Funny though that its mid september and we already have 3 'october' babies! (assuming whiffy has had her op...)

Hope all having a good day. Been taking my mutts for a long walk this morning so am absolutely knackered and going to go and put my feet up. DD at nursery today so really should be cleaning...maybe later...

DogMum · 18/09/2006 13:45

So that's Kat, Hana, Saka and probably Whiffy already. I'm definitely keeping my legs crossed.

Marthahm, your poor dh! I don't blame him though. On my birth plan, I've said I don't want to see anything if I have to have a c-section. (I've also said I really don't want one.) If it happens, I'll make sure dp stays away from the business end. Actually, it might not be a bad idea whatever happens. We've been finding the NCT classes really useful - much more detailed than the hospital ones, although they were worth going along to just to find out about hospital attitudes etc and have a look round.

Gingeme · 18/09/2006 13:47

Oh wow theyre all popping now arent they?
How lovely Saka a blue one to go with your pink one. Many congratulations to you all
Wonder how wHiffys doing. All ok there I hope.
Packed my labour bag today just have to get a few toileteries to pop in and its done. I know I have 6 weeks to go but with all these little ones turning up early you just never know.Or is that wishful thinking!
Hope you all had a good weekend. Just glad the weathers a bit cooler today. My feet arent so fat today.
Well good luck to the newbies. ttfn xxx

hana · 18/09/2006 13:47

dd3 is sleeping at the moment and her 2 big sisters ( still getting used to saying that) are glued to a Charlie and Lola dvd. I should be resting but just can't!

Gingeme · 18/09/2006 13:55

emzickle · 18/09/2006 18:39

Hi all,

Apologise for the long posting but I'm feeling really anxious and just wanted some advice and to get this off my chest.

My nan currently lives with my parents but has been suffering with demetia since Christmas (she's 94) she is getting progressively worse but today she left the gas on all day whilst my mum was at work and my mum has admitted it's not the first time it's happened. I'm petrified because my DS is due to go there when I go into labour. I know my mum and dad are responsible and will look after ds but I just can't get the thought out of my head 'what if'

I've tried to talk to my mum to say that it's got to the point when she needs to contact ss as my nan needs 24 hour care but it's not going to happen quickly.

I feel really stressed about it all as if the whole giving birth thing isn't daunting enough!!

youngmum21 · 18/09/2006 21:20

Hi all,

Congratulations to to all who have had their little ones!!!!
I have 6 weeks to go and have just started doing my hosptal bags ive done the babies but mine still has half the stuff missing and am starting to panic!! Anyone else feel like this???

I finished decorating the nusery today so am pleased about that going to put the cot up tomorrow cant wait!!!

nicand2 · 18/09/2006 21:58

Just got worse.. just told DH about it and he has said DS is not to go round there anymore without us being present. I can't face the thought of confronting my mum about this as she will be mortified that I think I don't trust them and she has a lot on her plate with all this. Am I over reacting about it all???

My mum has said she will come here if it's in the middle of the night but Ds would go to her if it was during the day. I just don't know what to do. Obviously I will put DS first but I can't relax about going into labour now.

Gingeme · 18/09/2006 22:26

nicand2 why wont your Mum come to your house if you go into labour during the day? What difference does it make? Cant your Dad look after your Nan while your Mum is at your house? Just a thought. Makes sence then evryones being looked after and you and dh can relax and concentrate on having that baby

catgirl · 19/09/2006 02:56

hi - anyone else can't sleep? Just woke for the loo, then my 4 year old wakes up, and know I am wide awake!

Congrats to Haha and Saka, must catch up on Saka's thread, but glad all sounds OK.

Had a day off work today (yesterday?) to get stuff out of the attic - pram, moses basket, blankets, gro-bags, nappies, clothes, toys - we had so much stuff last time round AND we even found two bags of maternity clothes that someone had given me - obviously need to get up into the attic more often to clear out! I am already thinking about what to do with all this stuff once it is no longer needed! Had a good sort out through the rest of the house too - hadn't realised it got so 'full'. Tired but feel glad it is done. didn't get round to ds's toys! That is a job for my mat leave I think.

Two weeks left at work - then I can do my hospital bag - am thinking about what to pack, just need to get it all and put it in one place!

Hoping to have a look at the delivery suites this week, after a midwife appt, hope we can otherwise we have to find a babysitter and would rather use a babysitter for something more interesting!

Gingeme - glad your weekend with your boys was fun.

Going to try and go back to sleep now. Nothing from Whiffy, but will keep checking my emails.

nowanearlyNicemum · 19/09/2006 08:45

still nothing from whiffy????

Justers · 19/09/2006 12:05

Good to hear from you Kat and glad everything is going well.

Nicand2, it's quite a tricky situation have you discussed your concerns with your mum, she must be having a really hard time at the moment coping. Is there anyone else that could look after your ds instead.

BENDYB · 19/09/2006 12:06

Thats good,
everythings goin ok, just feel so fat & uncomfortable now!
x

DogMum · 19/09/2006 12:46

nicand2, sorry to hear about the problems you've been having with your nan. For everyone's saftey, your mum definitely needs to contact ss. It's a really difficult decision to make from the inside though. You need to be firm with her about your arrangements for labour. I know you don't want a confrontation, but your dh is absolutely right to put ds's safety above everything else. If it was anyone but her mum involved, your mum would agree. And it doesn't have to be confrontational - you can let her put her point of view across, just make sure she listens to yours. If you can't get your mum to agree to come to yours, as Justers says, is there anyone else that can look after your ds for you? I really hope this gets resolved for all of you, both for the birth and the longer term.

Welcome back Kat and congratulations. Glad that you're enjoying being a mum - you're an inspiration to all of us.
