Hi everyone,

A new thread for us chatty bunch due in November. Could someone repost the stats? I'm on my phone so can't do it. Thank you!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Anna I've been thinking about it but was looking at one in argos however for about 2 - 3 weeks when ever I click on argos it goes to error 400 -.-

I had a retroverted uterus but I'm assuming it's flipped forwards as a. I think I noticed signs and b. she had no issue seeing ninja at the scan. so in theory I should be able to hear it at 12 weeks?

Miskate · 26/04/2014 13:57

Twiglet, I am in South Wales! Whoop! I booked in to NCT when I was only 5 weeks pregnant as I'm a freak. My mum is obsessed with the benefits of NCT so offered to pay very kindly.

TwigletFiend · 26/04/2014 14:00

Wahoo, someone nearby! Grin I am hopefully attending the Monmouth one, which actually takes place just outside Chepstow which is very handy for me. Do you have your EDD yet, Miskate?

Northernexile · 26/04/2014 14:16

Hi everyone, haven't had time to post in aaaaages, but DD is napping so have just caught up on the whole thread. I'm 10 weeks today, and scan is booked for a week on Thursday. Very exciting that so many of you are starting to see your beans! Been feeling very tired and on-and-off nauseous for the last three weeks or so. Got none of this first time round, but at least the symptoms are reassuring!

Re prams, we are very rural NI and up a big hill, so last time I managed to resist the i-Candy and we got a Jane Trider, three wheeler off-road type pram which I loved and will be breaking out again. It has a car seat that lies flat so it can be used as a carry cot suitable for sleeping, so it was really handy, and one less bit of kit to buy. DD is 2.2, so will walk (mostly) now, but we also have a light, foldable Microlite buggy that lives in the car boot now. They are really cool looking, and I thoroughly recommend them.

MrsWombat · 26/04/2014 14:51

If anyone is on benefits or have a low household income the NCT will give you a means tested discount. They will also let you pay in instalments.

Miskate · 26/04/2014 16:35

Twiglet, unless it changes at my scan on Tuesday, I'm due on the 9th of November. What about you?

RandomInternetStranger · 26/04/2014 16:49

Thursday it's pretty obvious on me now. I'm 13 weeks and am usually a dead flat, toned, skinny flat chested pre-pubescent boy size 8 and usually wear tight figure hugging clothes and bare midriffs (yes I'm that mother and yes I'm 37 next week!) and I now have E cup boobs, I'm a size 12 and have a proper noticeable definite BUMP. Strangers can tell now, people who see me regularly could tell a few weeks ago. It is a small village in the sticks where everyone knows everyone and makes it their business to know everyone else's business too. The mothers at DDs school are particularly bitch and judgemental and downright fucking evil if I'm honest and they'd judge a bloody blade of grass for being a different shade of green to what they deem proper. Hmm They're pathetic, they really are, and they're going to seriously struggle if their perfect little princesses ever decide to smoke or get a tattoo or go goth or punk or god forbid try drugs or have a teen pregnancy. They're on another planet and have no clue what the real world is like outside of their perfect ivory towers. Can't stand the lot of them and I really am counting the days till DD asks to change schools or leaves when she's old enough. But back to the postie I am gobsmacked and though I've known him 6 years (as well as you can know a postman you see maybe twice a week at most!) that was overstepping a very definite line. Had a moan to Dad and said he was damn lucky he didn't get bitch slapped and Dad kind of knows him too and said he might have a word next week. I said not to but knowing Dad he will. And he'll do it in quite a good way, something like "God you like living on the edge don't you, taking your life in your hands saying that to her, and you left with all your limbs?? Blimey!" I don't want to get really nasty about it or official, he is a good postie and I have known him a long time and will be here for at least another year or two, but it was very out of order.

Annarose I've been listening on my doppler since 7+3 (or 7+2? Around then anyway!) and letting DD and my parents have a listen. It is reassuring and good for a bit of bonding. Smile

alita7 · 26/04/2014 17:01

It's pretty obvious with me now, if I wear a tight top it looks like a baby bump. no one's asked though but then no one's asked when I've had bloating issues in the past when I haven't been. but my boobs are huge! I reckon in a month ill have a very clear bump though :)

Polkadotscarf · 26/04/2014 17:03

I have a Doppler and heard from 11 weeks, I am restricting myself to a once a week listen though as I know I could get a little obsessive! :-)

Annarose2014 · 26/04/2014 17:14

Yes I don't want to get addicted! But am naturally an overthinker and can't stop worrying. I suspect a doppler will calm me down a lot.

Also suspect DH will really enjoy it. It'll really involve him in the whole experience, as opposed to just making me endless cups of decaf tea and going "Awwwww.....poor wifey" over and over!

blamber · 26/04/2014 17:22

Thank for the info on antenatal classes everyone! I presume the midwife will tell me at the 16 weeks appointment.

TwigletFiend · 26/04/2014 17:38

Miskate subject to scan Thursday, am due 17th November so a little way behind you!

Sadly, all of me seems to have grown apart from my boobs. DP is very disappointed!

Tigsy · 26/04/2014 20:02

Annarose I got a doppler a few weeks back. Worried it would make me anxious/panicky/obsessive but it hasn't at all. If I have difficulty finding it then I know it's normal at this stage and I'm OK with it. Normally manage to find it every time though. Probably use it once or twice a week.

Just catching up with this thread as am sat at work waiting for my shift to finish. The stuff about prams/travel systems is really useful but still mind-boggling to me and so many mixed views (understandably). Can someone tell me how I can find the thread/pram review section on MN someone was talking about higher up? I must admit I find MN a bit huge and don't really know how to find anything, so generally only come here!

Feeling a bit stressed with stressful week coming up- mainly work reasons but also got scan on wednesday, which I'm looking forward to but also throws a bit more stress into the mix!

11 + 3

Annarose2014 · 26/04/2014 21:35

Tigsy in talk topics its further down under Products.

I find that section really overwhelming though, better to just do a regular search in the search box on a particular pushchair so that all the threads (and reviews on it) pop up.

DH is leaning towards the Graco Evo, I like the Baby Jogger City Mini but he didn't like the roundy footrest. Who knows what we'll decide over the next 6 months.

Elliekins · 26/04/2014 21:56

Ooh, I'm really tempted too - how much are these things?
Off to Google now...

alex7149 · 26/04/2014 22:15

Just got an angel sounds one should be here in about a week :)

WinterLover · 27/04/2014 07:04

Morning everyone.

Going to attempt to catch up with you all while DS is still sleeping.

I've used the doppler I had for DS for the past 2/3 weeks. Was suprised how easy I found it but maybe thats because I knew what I was listening out for.

Its such a relief that everyone who needs to know, knows Im pregnant now. I can officially show my bump!!

This pregnancy seems to be flying, maybe because Im so busy with work and DS.

Must go shopping next weekend (after payday) and get some clothes. Seriously lacking in clothes that fit and the hair bobble on my jeans is getting snug too.

Anyone got a feeling what they are having yet. Im positive its another boy. Would love a girl and will prob be a tad upset if it is a boy but will be happy all the same. I guess because I have such a close relationship with my mum i'd love that with one of my own. Ah well DP will have to get his head around trying for a 3rd if it is a boy Grin

12w 5days!

Keepon definitely chase it. If they've done that once, I wouldn't trust them and would be pestering them until I got an appointment!

Winter I'm really not sure. I automatically thought it was a boy and still keep calling it 'he' but that feeling has changed a bit more now towards a girl so I'm really not sure anymore. Don't want to find out either. Will you be finding out at your next scan?

blamber · 27/04/2014 09:26

hi keepon. Good thing you called! Can't believe they lost your referral. The book-in is supposed to be between 8 and 10 weeks, but I think if it's a bit late it will not matter too much. I'm sure they can arrange the scan for you quickly though, so you won't have to worry about being too late for that. I would definitely call them again later this week just to check up.

I'm 10 weeks tomorrow too and had the book in a few days ago, but it was mainly loads of info they gave and a blood and urine test. I don't have the scan date yet, but she said they would send it next week.

Loaf99 · 27/04/2014 10:00

Anyone going to homerton hospital?? Be my friend!! I slept for eleven hours plus a two hour nap yesterday mega. I'm treating myself to some Asos maternity clothes and a swim in the Olympic pool! Grin

Venus2 · 27/04/2014 10:15

Hi all, I haven't shared much lately as I'm still just waiting for the scan to prove that there is something in there and I got a little nervous hearing all the sad news posted. It really puts things into perspective hearing people drop off the feed. It's great that it's mainly just positive scan news now. Congratulations to all who have made it this far!
I have really been struggling with shortness of breath lately and feel very weighed down when I try to walk up hills and stairs. It's so frustrating and something I never expected this early. I often get tears eyed as I just can't keep up. Very strange considering that I'm an exercise instructor! I fell like I'm going to be so unfit by the time s/he arrives which is the opposite of what I want/need.
All my clients said that I will be the skinniest pregnant person with a neat bump but nope, I now have boobs, a bum and a tummy which is way bigger than I would expect at 10+6. Luckily I do not know anyone in this country (I only moved here a week before falling pregnant) as I definitely wouldn't be able to keep this a secret.
I definitely need to join some groups to meet people as this is starting to get lonely and I have no idea how anything works in this country :( But thanks for the recent advice posted. I will follow it up.

TwigletFiend · 27/04/2014 10:23

Hi Venus, whereabouts have you moved to? I am almost exactly the same date-wise as you and am also feeling very tired at the moment. I don't feel like I need to sleep, it's more that I have a total lack of energy all the time! I have resolved to ride it out and try to cut down a bit while it lasts - walking instead of jogging etc. Everyone tells me it passes soon, so hang in there!

Greenstone · 27/04/2014 10:42

loaf I dream of an 11hr sleep! I'm getting about half that per night lately. :( Need to wee constantly, and dd is waking either at night to wee or really early in the morning. I've had a headache for about 3 days in a row now and v behind on household chore stuff cause I still have no energy. And dd is watching too much tv at the moment because I'm too tired to play.
Moan moan moan but it's all good really. Going out for a long walk today hopefully, that should help.
