I think it would be worth a Google to be sure, but I think you get more rapid breast growth in first tri, and then over 2nd and 3rd as the ribcage widens that has an impact on the fit of the bra, and you can still grow a bit more but not necessarily as much. Obviously everyone is different so who knows. But in pg1 I went up 5 cups in first tri Shock I was an E pre-pg too. I got fitted with an underwired soft/non-cupped bra. Fitter recommended being able to fit my fist in each cup at fitting to allow for extra growth, but still fitted/not baggy (Bravissimo). I also got bra extenders, which I used in late pg when rib cage was at its widest but breasts still same size as I needed an extra cm or 2 for comfort.

Milk never came in so never maintained bf (moved to ff around 1-2wks old). Eventually reached pre-pg weight. Yet bra size has remained same ever since first tri spurt with DS! Getting sore now and having to use wider hook settings... Confused They are fuller but bras aren't too small for me, kind of hoping not to go too much bigger as it's tricky enough to find bras I like at my current size!

Highly recommend a proper fitting at end of first tri. A lot of changes going on and worth making sure you've got the right size, and bras that will hopefully see you well through pg.

amy 83 I am normally a 34 dd - e (came off the pill and they shrunk down to dd from e so my bras still fit just about as I didn't get smaller ones.) but now they're on their way to an f much to dps delight. though he's not allowed to touch them hehe

amy83firsttimer · 20/04/2014 19:30

I bought a sports bra from eBay after nearly crying in marks and sparks at about 7 weeks. Got a black Lonsdale one for about 11 quid and have been living in it! just bought another one a further size up as the first one's getting small. Massively recommend.

Elliekins · 20/04/2014 19:44

I have an ugly but super comfy sports type crop-top bra from Matalan (£6!) that I gave been wearing constantly, can hardly bear to remove it for washing and even sleeping in it!
No much support for the bustier ladies but a great buy for the less ample!
Will get measured in a few weeks - still hoping for a big booby growth spurt so my cleavage can distract from my belly!

Been meaning to ask - has anyone on here been to Frimley Park hospital in Surrey?
It's apparently the best one around here, (I'm in Windsor).
My most local one (Wexham) was recently mentioned on the news as being "somewhere you wouldn't want to be a patient" according to the CQC and is under special measures for being so appalling.
Frimley is a 40 minute drive from my house and I am terrified of the journey in labour!
Any positive reviews will make me feel happier about enduring the drive!

alita7 · 20/04/2014 20:22

I know someone who had a caesarean at Frimley and they had no problems to speak of, but that was 11 years ago so it may have changed. I have also heard bad things about Wrexham. Personally, I'm going to Royal Berks- which has mixed reviews but is my closest and I haven't got a car. It might be closer than frimley depending on where you live? But it does have lots of traffic issues at certain times which you need to consider, the best access is round the back which if you know the way.

Elliekins · 20/04/2014 21:05

Thanks Alita, yes, Royal Berks was my other option...

8 weeks was very early and daunting to make such an important decision!
It's got some good reviews online and it's been refurbished but I heard that they can get very busy and so sometimes have to rush people out in a hurry.
I think going down the M4 or A4 at rush hour could mean it takes almost as long as Frimley to get to Reading.
I don't know a clever back way!
Are you in Reading?

RandomInternetStranger · 20/04/2014 21:10

Royal Surrey in Guildford where I had DD is amazing, I can't fault them at all.

I bought 3 feeding bras in H&M last week - one in the sale for 1 (!!!!!) and the two others were about 7 if I remember rightly, I think. Really comfortable, and feeding bras too so will last the next 18-24 months, and not as hideously ugly as others I've looked at which are just horrendous. I had Argent Provocateur leopard, red and black silk maternity bras last time but looks like they don't do them any more. Sad

I'm 12+1 today and sickness had all gone for a few weeks but seems to have come back the last few days. Tried to empty the kitchen compost caddy the other day, ended up hurling into the sink with my Dad watching and looking like a deer in headlights then slowly backing away from the scary Exorcist body double...!

SPD is still a delight, getting to the stage where I can't sit in any one position for more than a few minutes before gasping in pain and having to slowly move whilst making lots of pained noises. Have cancelled a few non urgent appointments this week which would have involved walking to venues. Definitely getting to the GP for 8am Tuesday morning!! I want this sorted now!!!

Mumonabroom · 21/04/2014 05:57

Hi everyone! I'm due with DC3 on November 16th. I have 2 DS already, nearly 4 and 20 months. Love all the posts. Am having my scan on the 8th, currently paranoid it's twins as have quite a tummy already. Telling myself it's because it's #3 Grin

Would love to be added to list please.

Spannertime · 21/04/2014 07:36

Hello mumonabroom you're due the same day as me but this is my first.

WinterLover · 21/04/2014 08:41

Argh Easter holidays are almost over which means 2 sleeps till the scan and then telling work. im excited and scared about scan but absolutely panicking about telling work on Thurs Sad

barmybunting · 21/04/2014 09:04

Moffit, I'm so sorry. Take care of yourself.

Winter, I'm dreading the end of the Easter hols and return to work tomorrow too! I'm telling work on Wed but my scan is in 2 weeks. Not looking forward to telling the head teacher as we don't get on too well. Hopefully the excitement of your scan will make it easy to tell work on Thurs for you! I hope all goes well.

So sorry for the two losses......
And the all the awful symptoms! It's really not that easy is it?
Struggling with all the emotions at the moment, feel quite hopeless

WinterLover · 21/04/2014 09:39

Barmy, im hoping to tell them just before I finish work (I finish at lunch and not back in till mon) so it gives them time to shout about me and figure out what they plan to do whilst im not there

WinterLover · 21/04/2014 09:40

im only agency so have a strong feeling I won't be back on the monday Sad

barmybunting · 21/04/2014 10:56

Hi sparkle, nice to see you here. How are you finding things?

Winter - that's not an easy one. I am guessing you are a teacher as you are starting back tomorrow after the holidays, are you? How long are you meant to be there for?
I hope it doesn't come to that and you are back on Monday if you want to be, hopefully they will be sensible about it but it's hard to know how they will react, isn't it? Do you have to tell them at this stage?

I know it doesn't help, but I share your concern about the situation. I'm currently teaching via an agency contract as well (for the next two weeks, at which point I am due to go onto a temp contract with the school for the remainder of the maternity leave I am covering, but won't be around to finish it now so I feel the need to tell them before that). Have you told the agency yet?
I phoned and told my agency on Thursday and they were surprisingly good and told me I didn't need to tell the school yet if I didn't want to, but I'm crap at covering it up with the sickness so I just want to get it out of the way to be honest. Whatever happens after that, is there decision I guess.

Winter I've also just clicked that you may be talking about the Easter long weekend and thus Easter holidays may be nothing to do with school holidays at all! Sorry, confusion on my part.

ellie Yeh I'm in reading (shh, becoming aware of how much outing info Is building up on this forum :p)

mumonabroom welcome!

I was thinking this week the first of us are having our 12 week scans, should we start the next thread entitled something scan related?

also having scary dreams :(

had one last night that I woke up with dried blood all over a pad, and panicked, the blood didn't continue but my cervix was super low but closed. I didn't like that dream. Although with the cervix being closed I'm satisfied it's not a miscarriage predictor (like last time) but a manifestation of my fears!

januaryJump · 21/04/2014 11:59

Hi mum and Sparkle Smile

Sparkle That must have been so unnerving, glad to hear you can relax a bit more now! You don't have to get non-wired bras if you don't want to, as long as you are fitted properly with a wired bra.
Having said that I have my eye on some support vests with built in non-wired bras, for lounging at home and sleeping. But due to size only Bravissimo will work and they're currently £30 each - I want at least 2, maybe 3, but don't want to spend nearly £100 on vests right now! I'm studying their sale at the moment... Will go for a fitting after my scan, which is what I did last time too as the store isn't too far from my hospital, and will possibly have to pick up some new bras too, we'll see.

I also bought some maternity sleep bras last time and they were really good (not anymore as breasts too big now), but they serve up to quite a large size so would suit most people. I think they were by Carriwell, £11 each and I bought them online from a shop called From Here To Maternity. They were comfy and supportive and I ended up wearing them loads during the day, not just at night!

3wks till scan...

ElleOhElle · 21/04/2014 12:27

argh wish my symptoms would stay the same. didn't gag at all yesterday although felt horrendous at bedtime, today I have gagged twice - really want the nausea and gagging to stop. had a few signs that my sciatica is about to kick in and although that is very painful I'd take it any day over nausea!!! scan on Friday - cannot bloody wait

Sparkle Shock Can you link? I'm a 32HH atm, feeling some changes but still fitting into my bras so hoping not to get too much bigger. My Carriwell bras served me fine up to about F but then the straps started digging into my neck because my breasts were weighing them down and getting squished Confused

Mumonabroom · 21/04/2014 17:04

Thanks for the warm welcome from everyone Smile

Spannerworks I find it amazing to have the same due date. How exciting. Having the third one on the way has probably made me a lot more relaxed than I was with the first 2, but I still remember that feeling of utter excitement with the first (as well as the unknown). It's a great adventure. Can't wait for scan. I'm tempted to get a private one, but I'm trying to be rational and think that the 8th isn't that long away. Eek.
