Hi everyone,

A new thread for us chatty bunch due in November. Could someone repost the stats? I'm on my phone so can't do it. Thank you!

OP posts:

Horispondle that's brilliant, hope your scan goes ok. I think it's so worth it to keep peace of mind. I'm already counting down the days to my private scan! How people wait til the 12 week one I really don't know! X x

WinterLover · 14/04/2014 22:15

lesser symptoms here to

alita7 · 14/04/2014 22:18

My desire for a private scan is growing, as I feel I really need to prove to myself that this time baby is still ok and hasn't gone at 9 +4 - I'm 10 +4 today. While my symptoms are less, they haven't gone completely so I think it's the natural drop in hcg. But I can't justify having a private scan now when my 12 week one is only 10-11 days away.

amy83firsttimer · 15/04/2014 07:35

Aaaarrggh! Private scan in 3 hours. Wish me luck!

WheresMrMonkey · 15/04/2014 07:41

Goodluck! Have my nhs one today. A week early really and very scared

Spannertime · 15/04/2014 08:07

Good luck with your scans today. Hope everything is ok.

WheresMrMonkey · 15/04/2014 08:24

Thank you!

ElleOhElle · 15/04/2014 08:28

my symptoms aren't as strong in the mornings now but feel rotten in afternoon/evenings.
good luck to those with scans

blamber · 15/04/2014 08:38

Good luck to those with scans today! I have to wait another month for my 12 week scan, too long!

Symptoms often drop after 9/10 weeks, because the placenta starts working then.

I think I got that round ligament pain yesterday. It really hurt when I got up, but it was over in seconds.

Tigsy · 15/04/2014 08:42

Snooky really sorry to hear your news. Take good care of yourself.

TheThirteenthComing what fantastic news! How exciting!
I'm not sure we do have 2 sets of twins now Alita? Can't be sure but I remember there was a lady on here who was expecting twins but sadly lost them both. Unless there is someone else I'm not remembering?

Barmy my symptoms seem to come and go. Last week I had 3 days relent from the sickness, only for it to come back on a daily basis again. I think it's normal for them to wane and hopefully disappear around this time.

Good luck to everyone having scans today!

irishgirlinlondon · 15/04/2014 09:33

Hi Everyone, I'm joining in a bit late but relieved to almost be at the 12 week mark feels OK to let it out now, this is my first so a bit nervous :)

I'm due 30th October but going on the law of averages I will probably have a little November bambino!
Still have some symptoms, but my orange addiction has passed. Loving bland food, I could eat fish fingers, fruit, ice pops, crackers & honey all day long.

Thisisimpossible - feeling the same breathlessness - I'm like a 70 year old heavy smoker after an uphill walk!!
Other than tender boobs which are not as bad as the first 6-8 weeks, I'm up peeing during the night and have restless sleeps recently.

I had a 7 week scan due to spotting which went well. Cannot wait for my 12 week scan (I'll be 13 wks as I had to change appointment) Good luck to everyone having scans in the meantime x

Nessalina · 15/04/2014 09:41

Hey ladies, thought I'd check in and say hey Smile
Things still ticking over here, scan is in 2 weeks... I've been very lucky with sickness - lots of nausea but still only one vom (so far!). I'm breathless too, but then I'm asthmatic, so it's not unheard for me, but definitely worse than usual.
My stomach is freaking massive, there's really no doubt I'm pregnant... And my PILs are visiting today, so hoping I can suck it in and avoid comment!
10+1

Thisisimpossible · 15/04/2014 09:55

Good luck to all those of you who have scans today Smile

Amyrose82 · 15/04/2014 11:02

So sorry to hear that Snooky - take care of yourself Thanks

Good luck with the scans today Amy and Monkey - fingers crossed for positive experiences!

Alita I know that feeling - it's only 10 days to wait but that still seems like an age away, and esp with your history no one would blame you for having a private scan in the meantime! I booked mine on Friday morning and got in on Sat afternoon, then by the time I got home on Friday my NHS scan appt had come through for April 30! Nearly cancelled the private one but so glad we did it in the end - DH managed to video the whole thing on his phone so whenever I'm feeling worried I can play back little bean's heartbeat EnvyEnvyEnvy

alita7 · 15/04/2014 11:22

oh maybe the other twins was that lady, I just remembered some one else had twins!

Anna that sounds lovely! but these scans are so expensive, I've got 9 days til my 12 week scan (maths went out the windows last night apparently :p) and I can't afford it :/ wish I'd done it last week.

januaryJump · 15/04/2014 11:45

Morning all.

I get breathless too, almost as soon as I get pg it's like I've lost any energy/fitness I might have had! Symptoms had settled a bit over the past week, still nauseous and hungry a lot but it was okay to manage. Woke up this morning with stronger nausea and promptly ran to the bathroom to vomit. Thought "Well, that was that, not nice but it's over now". Um, nope Confused Found myself an hour later vomiting profusely on the living room carpet. At least I was at home...

Currently nursing a mint tea, some grapes and some crackers. This pg has involved a lot more vomiting than the first - I've already vomited more times than I did in my whole first pregnancy! I'm also much hungrier this time around and I've put on 5lb in 3wks Shock

I'll admit, after thoroughly dirtying the carpet, I wished I could just sort of fast forward to the newborn stage. I could be held in some sort of suspended animation throughout pregnancy, be nourished and taken care of, baby born, then I wake up to the loveliness. I decided however that I couldn't possibly manage that imaginary world as then I wouldn't get to see DC1 growing! I don't know why my imaginary world couldn't accommodate that, apparently there are limits to my imagination Grin

Greenstone · 15/04/2014 12:36

Oh I know, January. I haven't even been sick at all (poor you!) but feeling very Hmm at the thought of all the remaining months. Pregnancy is an interesting life experience and an incredibly humbling one (when you consider how lucky we are to be pg at all), but really I think there is just no need for it to be 9 bloody months long!

Welcome irishgirl and good luck to everyone who's got scans coming up, and yay to everyone else (Posy and ladydolly?) who recently saw all looking well. The thread moves so quickly it's hard to keep up but it's great to hear good news. And I'm so sorry if I've missed sending sympathies to anyone who's experienced sad news. Flowers

Another 11 days to go until my 12-week scan. Such a waiting game it is, especially seeing as I haven't had an early scan at all. Just hoping for the best.

Lovely sunny morning here. Roll on summer.

edwardcullensotherwoman · 15/04/2014 12:55

Hello, how is everyone feeling? I had a gender blood test yesterday so should know by next week if it's a boy or a girl Grin

Also, I've got a job! My first job offer in nearly 10 years! Even when I told them I'm pregnant they still want me for 6 months, basically to do whatever hours I can do (have 2DC to work around). That was such a confidence boost Smile

Still waiting for my antenatal appointment, booking was over a week ago so I might phone to hurry them along today, especially since I start work on Thursday.

Thisisimpossible · 15/04/2014 13:06

edwardcullensotherwoman congratulations on your job!

I didn't know you could have a blood test to determine gender. How many weeks are you and where did you have it done? I am already convinced ours is a girl, but it would be fascinating to know for sure!

amy83firsttimer · 15/04/2014 13:14

Scan all good. Saw heartbeat and definitely legs. DH says he saw arms too but I missed them. So worth it money wise for the peace of mind. Happy happy happy. Currently in the park with full picnic. Lovely weather in Manchester for once!

edwardcullensotherwoman · 15/04/2014 13:24

Thanks impossible ! I'm hoping that being in a busy office all day will distract me from being tired and nauseated!

It's not a widely known test, I've only been aware of it for about 6 years. It can be done from 9 weeks, I had it at the hospital as I'm a carrier of a gender specific condition. It basically checks the chromosomes in your blood, so if it detects Y chromosomes then obviously you're carrying a boy. If none are found it's inconclusive, but probably means you're carrying a girl. Unfortunately it doesn't distinguish between X chromosomes so all they can say is there's no Y detected, and you draw your own conlusion from that Grin

I have no idea if it's available generally, or privately (although most things are!) i juts know I asked my consultant during my first pregnancy and I've had it 3 times now.

edwardcullensotherwoman · 15/04/2014 13:25

amy excellent news! It all seems so much more real once you've seen them! Enjoy your picninc Smile

alita7 · 15/04/2014 13:26

ooh Edward what good news! looks like you'll be first to know the gender! :)

I'm assuming it's a nifty or harmony test which tells you any genetic problems and the gender from a blood test. I'd love one but they cost over £150!

amy that's brilliant news!

WheresMrMonkey · 15/04/2014 13:36

Scan all fine phew!! 11 weeks + 4 days, so due Halloween!

Thisisimpossible · 15/04/2014 13:38

Thanks edwardcullensotherwoman Smile that's really interesting to know. I think I'll just have to be patient - if I have any spare cash it's going on an early scan as mine's still 24 looooong days away...

amy83 congratulations! That's so exciting Smile
