Out seeing some friends tonight. Tomorrow going out for dinner with my parents, brother and his fiancée. Then Sunday I'm off to London to cheer my friend on who's running the London Marathon. I was thinking that it was lucky I didn't end up getting a place this year!

Up ridiculously early this morning because of the sickness and now on my 2nd ice lolly of the day.

Amyrose82 · 11/04/2014 08:21

So sorry to hear you sad news mammysam - take good care of yourself and fingers crossed for happier news soon Thanks

Poor you Maths - hope you and DS are recovering well! And relief that baby's okThanks

Still panicking re lack of symptoms - mild nausea has now gone and tiredness is getting better too! Spoke to DH last night and we're going to try to book a private scan ASAP just to reassure ourselves as we still haven't got an appt for NHS scan and it could be another four weeks!

I just want to check that there's really a baby in there, in the right place, and it's not all in my head!

9+2 and got my bfp exactly four weeks ago - it's going quickly, but not quickly enough! Confused

WinterLover · 11/04/2014 08:28

mammysam im so sorry. Take care of yourself xx

Im so on edge at the min, DS (2 1/2) is really testing me at the min. My two dogs are getting more and more of a handful because I don't have enough time/energy for them. To top it of work have screwed my wages up so im down £40 in extra tax which im really pissed off about as money is extremely tight as it is Sad

Just so fed up at the min, and the worry of my scan and telling work its all just getting too much.

StudyFullTime · 11/04/2014 09:51

mammysam very sad news, sorry to hear it Thanks

I've just been to the doctors and have been given anti sickness pills, hopefully they'll make a difference to this awful nausea/sickness I've been getting.

She said to rest for the next few days with my feet up which I shall be doing.

I'm not a spring chicken anymore and am finding this pregnancy much harder than DS 4/5 years ago.

Amyrose82 · 11/04/2014 10:50

Private scan booked for 1.30pm tomorrow - I am both excited and sick with nerves! Praying for good news...

chirpchirp · 11/04/2014 11:01

Hi all, been a bit quiet as feeling dreadful. Sickness this time round is so much worse. Have struggled to eat anything for the last three days anything I have has come back up. Study was it your midwife or GP that you saw re the anti sickness pills. Not coping and need to get an appointment.

So sorry to read your sad news Mammy take care of yourself.

StudyFullTime · 11/04/2014 11:19

chirp I went to my gp, she was fabulous, she said pregnancy nausea and sickness is horrible and it's treatable.

amy83firsttimer · 11/04/2014 12:10

We've been umming and aaah-ing over whether to get private scan before we go away so in a mad dash I've just booked one on the spur of the moment, rang DH who said ''will they even be able yo see anything yet?'' queue me bursting into tears and wailing ''I effing hope so!!!!'' if my emotions are anything to go by no need for scan definitely pregnant!!!

Annarose2014 · 11/04/2014 12:12

winterlover I think we've all had those days weeks. I seem to have come out the other side (10+4) but by God the last few weeks have been horrendously overwhelming.

I have a dog too and many days I just couldn't deal with it acting up at all. I went to the butchers and got a load of free bones and would just throw one at him whenever he started driving me mad. He was going through a bone a day in addition to meals and he was pooing about three times a day! Shock But as long as he was busy it was totally worth it. And then there's the old trick of filling an empty coke bottle with a few treats - that coke plastic is strong! Only thing is it's a noisy toy. But if you're in a different room it keeps them going for a good while.

caravela · 11/04/2014 12:36

Mammy so sorry to hear your sad news. It must be so awful.

AmyRose I can empathise with your worry, as I've found my (not very severe) symptoms have dropped off in the last week (now 10+1). Am hoping it's just normal as you come towards the end of the 1st trimester, and keep on pressing my boobs to confirm that they're still a bit sore! Hope your scan goes well.

Misslaughalot · 11/04/2014 14:24

Hi ladies, haven't been on the thread for a couple of weeks. So sorry for all the people who've left us, so sad.

This is DC2 for me, and I've definitely started to show this week. I work from home most of the time, but had an office visit this week, and was convinced someone would say something. Luckily my next office visit is the week after our scan so I'll be able to come clean then.

We're hoping this baby isn't going to cost us anything for the first 6 months! As long as I can bf again we should be ok. I didn't start dressing DD in proper clothes until she was about 5 months, so we have loads of baby gros that are quite unisex, and we use cloth nappies and washable wipes. Would be great as ML pay is rubbish and I'm hoping to have the whole year off again.

Hope all of you with with sickness aren't feeling too bad.

alita7 · 11/04/2014 14:33

miss laugh my plan is to keep the cost under £200 by getting most things off eBay or my mum's loft stash (she's still got my old cot and some baby clothes and other things :p) as she's a major horder. I'll buy things like bedding, moses basket mattress and first clothes new though.

WinterLover · 11/04/2014 14:46

We only need to but a mattress (MIL) is buying it and some monitors. We have everything else from DS and as he was a 'suprise' all the early stuff is neutral Grin

Annarose2014 · 11/04/2014 14:58

I'm planning on buying everything in Tesco kids section, which is apparently pretty cheap.

Not sure about the other stuff yet, as my SIL may go again so may want to hold onto everthing. My friend got great bargains on ebay though.

RandomInternetStranger · 11/04/2014 15:02

I'm planning on hiring the car boss over the summer and getting as much as possible there, except a mattress. It's been that long since DD and I thought I wouldn't have any more so I got rid of everything! Duh!

Popped to the shops today and thought I'd get the boobs measured 10+6 and I've already gone from a 32B to a 32E!!!! Shock Fantastic but what are they going to be like by the end??? Grin

Anyone else find themselves generally more protective of themselves? As I'm walking around I'm consciously avoiding the tweens jumping about and giving everyone a wide berth to avoid bumping, and one guy knocked my arm walking by and I really didn't like it. Last time I really didn't mind people touching my bump, this time I hate it, my friend grabs and kisses my tummy every time she sees me (she knew the day of my bfp) and I really don't like it. I didn't mind last time.

RandomInternetStranger · 11/04/2014 15:03

WTF? Stupid auto correct. "hitting the car boots!"

WinterLover · 11/04/2014 15:20

I heard the heartbeat Grin Just had a play with the monitor we had from DS. Didn't hold out much hope but im pretty sure I found it (sounded like when MW used to do DS Grin

WinterLover · 11/04/2014 15:21

For baby clothes I got and still get all of DS his from Facebook selling sites

PosyFossilsShoes · 11/04/2014 17:02

Felt much less sick the last two days - hurrah! Although like an idiot I'm now worrying that that bodes ill. I'm still absolutely knackered though (and the nausea has been replaced by constant hunger) so I reckon it's probably ok.

pinkgirlythoughts · 11/04/2014 17:37

Posy, I'm the same, the minute the nausea eases off I start to panic that there's something wrong, then I'm praying for it to come back again! Only actually been sick once so far, but I feel sick the majority of the time, and can't do food shopping at all, as absolutely everything in the shop makes me want to hurl!

Told the family on Wednesday, after we'd been for my booking in appointment. We bought DS the book "there's a house inside my mummy," and got him to ask people to read it to him. Both sets of parents said they'd already guessed, as did my sister, although SIL didn't get it, and just started reading the story, until MIL and FIL's "awwww!!" noises made her realise something was up!

alita7 · 11/04/2014 18:10

my sickness has let up a bit. It's now intermittent. If it had gone totally I'd be worried but it's just no longer constant. I'm still exhausted, weeing lots and anti most foods. so I hope that means it's Ok! but then by boobs are much less sore. oh bring on the scan!

Horispondle · 11/04/2014 21:29

Hello everyone, not posted for a while but avidly lurking!
Have been sick a few times and struggling with excess stomach acid. Not feeling hungry but need to eat constantly to stop from throwing up.
Worst part at the moment is my mouth and throat is full of ulcers Hmm not helping with my already limited list of what I can stomach! Has anyone else experienced/heard of this being a pregnancy symptom?
(7+6)

Annarose2014 · 11/04/2014 21:36

Guys, who is showing and who is not?

I'll be 11 weeks on monday and this last week I look recogniseably pregnant. Prior to this I just looked fat and bloated but now my stomach is hard as iron and proper round and all in the front.

I was going out to dinner earlier and tried on three pairs of jeans before one fit me. And those were super-low rise (underneath all the belly) and still the button was straining. My bum and thighs seem the same though.

Is it still just bloat? I thought you didn't get a bump till 4 months?? This is my first - People don't show at 10 weeks with their first, surely??!

If it is still bloat, any advise to reduce it? Antacids or anything? Its quite annoying!

alita7 · 11/04/2014 22:42

I think I'm showing a tiny bit, I've got a lot of bloat going on but there's definitely something hard and it looks like more than just bloat. 10 +1 today.

edwardcullensotherwoman · 11/04/2014 22:44

my nausea has also become intermittent, in the sense that I'm fine when I start eating, but I'm lucky if I can make it through a meal before being put off bt nausea Hmm

It's also stronger when it comes over me now. So far I've strugged managed to hold off throwing up,but the strong waves are getting hard to suppress. I hate complaining about it because I'm embracing my final pregnancy, but my word I hate feeling sick and tired!
