I definitely have some weird bumpage going on. It tends to be almost unnoticeable first thing but is a definite bump by late evening, and I'm only 8+3..

utopian99 · 12/04/2014 08:30

This is ds2, but still. I didn't have anything vaguely bumping till about 5 months last time, so slightly horrified by this - it's worth it for the dc, but I do feel it's rather unfair that pregnancy destroys you so effectively physically.

ElleOhElle · 12/04/2014 08:36

definite bumpage here!! can't wait for scan so I don't have to find clothes to hide it!
10+2 (DC2)

Elliekins · 12/04/2014 08:51

It's crazy, some of the initial bloat has gone down a bit and in the morning I look almost quite normal, just a slight bump but by bedtime I look 5 months pregnant!
I would expect muscles to be more relaxed upon waking up in the morning.. Who am I kidding, I've never had much in the way of stomach muscles anyway.

StudyFullTime · 12/04/2014 10:02

anyone else just surviving on ice pops? My sickness has got so bad I can't keep anything else down, I'm sick if I eat, sick if I don't eat, sick if I lie down or sit up, sick if I move too quickly...

This is horrible Sad

PosyFossilsShoes · 12/04/2014 10:12

Horis - I think it is a side effect of getting dehydrated, and also because progesterone relaxes ligaments so you are more likely to sleep with your mouth open, which can cause ulcers. Try Corsodryl toothpaste - it's disgusting but it works.

RandomInternetStranger · 12/04/2014 10:20

I've had a bump since 7 weeks and now at 11 weeks there's a definite o
proper bump strangers are noticing as a pregnant belly & not just fat now. Love it! The only problem is as the SPD is kicking off rather viciously for so early on I'm strapped up in my belt as tight as I can make it and it gives me the weirdest shape & turns my hips into squished up love handle shelves. The boobs have gone from 32B to 32E already so they still kind of dwarf the bump a bit and I it doesn't look as big as it really is for me, given that I'm usually flat as a pancake, but I love it. Can't wait for it to get properly big big!

11 weeks today!

Loaf99 · 12/04/2014 12:53

How much is a private scan?

Loaf99 · 12/04/2014 12:55

I'm 7+3 can someone explain all the acronyms on here so I can be in on the joke!! Wink I'm feeling nauseous in the morning but able to keep it I check sometimes I'm not hungry at all other times I want to eat four sandwiches I a row. Whoop!

alita7 · 12/04/2014 12:57

Urgh awful experience. After 12 hours (of broken, nightmare filled) sleep I woke up and took my vitamins... went for number 2 :p and suddenly I'm dry retching uncontrollably, obviously there's not really any food there... so all that came up was froth (from hayfever, like when your sick when you have a cold, I think it's excess mucus) luckily dp got me a piece of bread and it stopped. Urgh. do not allow your stomach to get empty!

utopian99 · 12/04/2014 13:05

Feeling for you alita. I know what you mean random, I normally have flat up and down stomach (thankfully it went back after ds), so now I probably just look like I've got a few pies stashed away but to dh and me it looks like a bump.

Scan today and we have a hefty little kidney bean with it's little heart bashing away. Grin Won't stop me worrying till the 12 weeks scan though, but think we'll tell parents now.

Kairos · 12/04/2014 13:43

I'm bowing out, ladies. Following intermittent bleeding, a scan showing 5 weeks' development for an 8 week pregnancy and very slow-rising HCG levels, I am very likely to miscarry. I wish you all the very, very best. For those expecting your first: be kind to yourself! And for those on #2, be kind to your firstborn Smile Much love xx

WinterLover · 12/04/2014 14:04

urgh someone has a fire going nearby and its making my sickness worse Sad I cant get shut of the smell

Tigsy · 12/04/2014 14:37

Kairos sorry to hear this. Take good care of yourself and hope you're back soon with happier news.

Loaf99 scans seem to very much to depend on area. Mine was £99 for an early scan which was the cheapest I could find around here (Hertfordshire) but they seem to be a lot cheaper everywhere else!

januaryJump · 12/04/2014 16:29

Hello all, may I join in?

I'm currently 7+6 with DC2. Surprise baby! DC1 is 16mo and I had been thinking of TTC when he was closer to 2yo, whereas now my EDD is a couple of weeks before his 2nd birthday!

Current EDD is 24 Nov 2014 but waiting for the scan to confirm as my periods had been a bit odd prior to BFP so I'm not as confident going by the dates as I was with DC1.

Have a booking appointment tomorrow, exactly on 8wks (going by dates) and they sent my scan appointment in the same envelope, which is booked for 12+1.

The whole experience is a bit weird for DH and I and hasn't really sunk in as it was a real surprise for us. Very happy of course, and hoping everything goes perfectly, but still doesn't always feel real. The nausea, soreness and aching are reminders though! Smile Stomach is also really big now - I don't imagine it to be showing, I think it's just bloating and I read somewhere else about swelling, or blood, or something, and that especially with a 2nd (and having had DS not too long ago) the swollen tummy comes a lot quicker. Makes it a touch harder to hide, hoping people think I'm just a bit porky! A close friend knows and seeing me the other day, she said my hips looked wider and tummy more rounded. My tops are also stretching a bit at the bust. First time around my bra size went up 5 cups in the first tri (and stayed that way ever since) but no tummy changes until around 14-16 weeks, and even then it was small. Before BFP I was at my original pre-PG1 weight, but the impact on my tummy has been rapid this time, I feel big already!

Never joined any of the antenatal groups on MN last time around, but decided to join in this time, I think because it's taken us by surprise so much, I have moments of wondering, "Is it really happening? Will everything be okay?" so I've been stalking the Pregnancy boards a lot as a result.

All the best for everyone Smile

Amyrose82 · 12/04/2014 17:24

So sorry to hear that Kairos - take care of yourself and hope to see you back here soon with positive news Thanks

Welcome to the club January! Grin

Well now breathing a huge sigh of relief - scan done this afternoon, everything looking good and measuring exactly right for dates at 9+3! Galloping heartbeat, was amazing!

Loaf we paid £60 for the private scan but we're in the Midlands - well worth the money too for the reassurance!

Got our 12 week scan on April 30 so I'll still worry until then of course, but it's made me feel a million times better today!

MabelMay · 12/04/2014 17:41

Hi everyone - welcome to newcomers and so sad to read of those who are having to leave us.

I'm 10+2 today but really not feeling that pregnant any more. Hoping it's the first trimester symptoms wearing off... ? Anyone at a similar stage to me and not feeling nauseous any more. I keep touching my boobs to make sure they're still tender (they are) - but that's about it. I guess i should be grateful - but as you all know, can't help but worry about it at this early time.

Hope everyone else okay.

Annarose2014 · 12/04/2014 17:57

So sorry Kairos and welcome January

Mabel my symptoms have definately eased (11 on Mon). Still felt a bit sick this morning and still sore boobs and still peeing like mad, but I have more energy. Also feel more optimistic. We told my folks today - the reaction was wonderful - so glad!

Just hope I haven't jinxed it by telling family! Oh what a silly thing to think when I saw Baba this week hale and hearty!

But honestly ever since that silly woman in work said "Hope you don't lose it at 16 weeks like me" it seems like the marker I have to get past.

So stupid! Even after that we'll all still be anxious till Baba is safely here!

Venus2 · 12/04/2014 18:09

Hi Nov ladies, I hope you have room for a newbie. I'm due Nov 17 with DC1. I'm so excited but waiting for the 12 week scan is taking way to long. I just want to hear that it's healthy so I can start telling everyone. I look forward to going through this experience with all of you x

alita7 · 12/04/2014 19:56

so sorry kairos xx

yes my symptoms have dipped a bit and I am 10+2 I no longer feel constantly nauseous and my boobs arnt so sore. But I do have random gagging if I don't eat when I need to, violent retching (which very little to come out) this morning. I also still have an aversion to most foods but am trying to be a little more adventurous and ate an apple earlier with no ill affect :p and I'm exhausted and have a general feeling of being unwell. so while the sickness is better other things are still around which is good :)

MrsHarriO · 12/04/2014 20:11

First babe, due 9 November 14

RandomInternetStranger · 12/04/2014 22:26

My symptoms have trailed off, apart from being fat, the spd, very mild nausea if I stop eating and boobs being bigger and heavier but not so sore anymore, and still got this almost constant blood pressure thing but nothing much really. If I hadn't changed shape and my SPD hadn't come back I wouldn't think I was pg. Had a listen on my doppler again last night and he's still in there, so I'm not imagining it. Grin

alita7 · 12/04/2014 22:38

I am however super gassy! like dp winded me for ages and there's still loads left!

RandomInternetStranger · 13/04/2014 01:50

Wonder how many times I can (mentally) tell pregnancy professionals to fuck off during this pregnancy. "You can't have spd this early, you're imagining it", "just tilt your bum like this and it will be fixed", "you do not need more than 300 extra calories per day and shouldn't gain more than 5lbs in the first trimester", "you don't HAVE to have another c-section, you can go natural and see how you progress", fuck off fuck off fuck off fuck off fuck off. rolleyes

Tigsy · 13/04/2014 07:31

AnnaRose what an awful thing for someone to say! Granted an absolutely horrendous thing for her to have gone through (I also worked with someone who lost a baby at 16 weeks and it was devastating for her) but seems a bit insensitive to say that to you! I can't remember who posted it or when but somewhere on this thread someone posted a link to miscarriage statistics by day and they definitely reassured me. At 9 + 4 it shows that my risk of a miscarriage is now only at 2% which is where it remains fur the rest of the pregnancy. Obviously we will know nothing is a guarantee, but odds are definitely in our favour.

Amyrose good to hear your scan was good news! My 12 week scan is on the 30th as well and think we must be very similar with our dates! I'm 9 + 4 now.
