Aw Maths sounds like a tough few days! Great news about baby and your DS though, hope you're both home and on the mend soon Smile

study do work know you're pregnant yet or have you been sent home potentially harbouring D&V? Hope it eases a bit for you soon.

Since reading through I noticed MrsWombat was doing stats, sorry!

Miskate I noticed you said you're in Wales, do you mind me asking whereabouts? I'm in the South West Smile

edwardcullensotherwoman · 10/04/2014 13:02

Oh and also, Random I'm in awe of your eating capacity! I thought I was eating a lot (can't go 2 hours without eating something!) I was going to WW and had planned to stay until 12 weeks then announce, but I'm currently gaining half to 1 pound a week, so had to give it up!

alita7 · 10/04/2014 13:16

dp strolled in at 2 am after a few too many at a mates and nownow bedroom smells like an alcoholics bat cave -.- that smell makes you very queasy incase any one was tempted...

StudyFullTime · 10/04/2014 13:39

edward they know and are being fab. I didn't get this sickness with my DS so I think this may be a girl!

Miskate · 10/04/2014 14:06

Edward - I'm an expat english girl Cardiff!

edwardcullensotherwoman · 10/04/2014 14:15

How nice alita ! Throw open the window and give no sympathy!! Just imagining the smell is making me queasy..

That's good study . Ooh exciting! I felt more sick with DD than with DS I must admit, although I'm feeling even more sick this time, and there aren't any more options!

Ooh will you be using UHW then Miskate ? I'm not in Cardiff but had both DC in UHW due to medical condition, so I'll be there again this time. Although as it'll be ELCS I'll probably be in at the beginning of November.

Miskate · 10/04/2014 14:24

I am using UHW - is it good? I'll prob be going in the midwife led centre as I haven't got any health concerns.

booksshoescats · 10/04/2014 14:30

That's lovely, annarose - what a nice surprise to get an unexpected scan!

ladydolly hilarious – ‘middle-aged salesman’.

Posy - good luck – you should be able to see loads at 10 weeks and the risks are minimal after that – makes waiting till 14 weeks much more bearable! I’m the same – crap with my own secrets. As my mother said to me this morning when I said we’d told dd last night: ‘we are not made for waiting’.

Maths - what an experience! Great that all OK with baby and your boy, too.

Told DD last night. She was very happy (after initially saying she wasn't keen because 'I don't like the smell of poo' Grin). But then she got quite excited and announced that 'When we go back to school I'm going to tell everyone the good news', which DH and I were really touched about.

She was very pleased to be able to tell her childminder and her son this morning - it was really sweet.

Greenstone · 10/04/2014 14:40

Maths so glad that your baby is safe, and your son doing much
better. Whatever about your DP, you must be wrecked! Are you OK? Still in hospital I take it? Can you rest at all or are you worrying about your son? Must have been such a scary experience Flowers

books that's lovely about telling your DD. She'll be a great age to get so involved with everything, and she'll be able to fetch and carry for you when the baby is asleep on you and stuff Wink

Looking forward to the weekend, got some nice cultural events coming up and I don't get out often so it's extra exciting! Meeting up with a friend tomorrow night and she's suggesting we go to a winebar and share a cheeseplate - argh! Not sure what to say. Maybe I'll just come clean because wine and cheese is normally my idea of heaven. I feel weirdly protective of my secret this time around and would much prefer to wait another week or so before telling people, but maybe just for an easy life I'll tell my friend so that I can at least eat something on the menu.

I'm either 9+6 or 10+0 today.

booksshoescats · 10/04/2014 16:57

Greenstone - I'm definitely hoping to put her to work Grin. I am not really a baby person and would not have been fun to be around with a baby and a toddler, so I'm pleased it's worked out this way, with a bigger gap that I might have been anticipating.

Your weekend sounds lovely - I know I wouldn't be able to keep it from my friend in your position. I told some close friends very early though (pretty much as soon as I found out) as I'm terrible at keeping stuff in - and there's no way I wouldn't arouse suspicion staying off wine and cheese!

Greenstone · 10/04/2014 17:09

I told her :)
She was so lovely and excited about it, it's made me perk up a bit and get excited too!

Anybody else up to anything nice for the weekend?

booksshoescats · 10/04/2014 17:17

Aww, lovely, Greenstone.

We're just seeing friends locally Sat lunch and Sun afternoon. And I'm hoping to spend some time in bed Smile. Kind of accidentally went to bed a bit late last night, and I'm really finding it makes a difference to how ropey I feel the next day. Definitely been more queasy and uncomfortable today than I was earlier in the week.

Got the day off tomorrow, too, to catch up with old friends whose daughters are DD's friends too, so that should be a really fun day - we're all off the the circus!

Moffit · 10/04/2014 17:37

Sounds like there are some nice plans for the weekend, we're clearing out the spare room on Saturday and doing a bootsale Sunday to make room for the new baby. Not very exciting, but needs to be done!

Are there many on here that are keeping the news to themselves until their scan? We were planning to keep it private until 12 weeks and no one knows except me and DH! But we have just booked a private scan for next saturday, so all being well, we'll tell parents and sisters then.......I think.

WutheringTights · 10/04/2014 21:38

Gosh, I've been gone a couple of weeks and we're on thread three!

After a mix up at my GP surgery I've finally got my booking in appointment through, for when I'll be 11+1. Slightly concerned about getting the dating scan and nuchal transparency test done by 14 weeks as in my first pregnancy I know that the scans got all backed up but the midwives on the phone assured me that I should be ok. I've looked into private scans just in case but hopefully won't need to go down that route.

I also have to be seen at the hospital instead of my local gp practice as I've moved practice since DS1 and my new GP is covered by midwives from a different hospital. It's a bit annoying as there seems to be longer waits at the hospital but at least I have an 8.30am appointment - they can't be running too late at 8.30am, surely...?

MammySam · 10/04/2014 21:54

Hello
Just thought I'd pop in to say I need to bow out of this thread as had the dreadful news today that baby stopped growing a 7.5 wks and now has no heartbeat. Should be 10+2. Had sme bleeding this morning, went to EPAU this morning and scan confirmed it. Had a perfect early scan at 7 wks but baby must've died a few days later.
My symptoms tailed off completely about 2 and a bit wks ago whic matches up perfectly with when baby must've died.
Really sad, especially telling 4 yo DD who's really sad and confused.
Anyway lots of luck for your pregnancy and here's hoping they are n eventful and boring and you get all the way to November and meet your lovely babies :) x

edwardcullensotherwoman · 10/04/2014 22:21

Aw sorry to hear that MammySam take care of yourself Smile

Miskate They're very good at UHW - the majority of MWs I came across were fabulous. First time around (6 years ago!) there were one or two somewhat lacking in bedside manner, but by the time I had DD 2 years ago all the staff were awesome. They have nursery nurses now too which I think makes a big difference as the MWs can get on with looking after mums and the nursery nurses are there to help with feeding/soothing etc. And they were always more than happy to have a cwtsh!

alita7 · 10/04/2014 22:27

so sorry mummy Sam xx

Greenstone · 10/04/2014 22:32

So sorry MammySam, that's so sad. Flowers

ElleOhElle · 10/04/2014 22:42

AveryJessup · 11/04/2014 00:18

I'm sorry to hear that MammySam. Take care of yourself and fingers crossed you get a BFP again soon Thanks

edwardcullensotherwoman · 11/04/2014 00:43

thanks elle now I want cucumber! Grin
Anyone up? I'm in bed, mega tired but awake with ear and face ache Sad and there's no Calpol here Sad Sad
Dreading tomorrow - ballet with DD first thing then playgroup until school run, and all I really want to do is stay snug in bed!

utopian99 · 11/04/2014 01:44

We're up Edward - ds has a really high temp and taking a lot of soothing. Currently in his cot in just a vest, light blanket and window open. He climbed into my lap about an hour before bedtime this evening and just conked out. I secretly rather enjoyed the snuggling, if not the situation for ds

Tomatoes here are a winner, but now I want cucumber too...

Tigsy · 11/04/2014 07:21

Such sad news MammySam. Hope you are being well looked after and hope you are back with happier news soon.
