And loling at the timelord Posy! Grin

alita7 · 09/04/2014 17:31

Ah brilliant anna :)

Posy we are all timelords! :P

amylou85 · 09/04/2014 18:00

Annarose2014 That's amazing news, so pleased for you, how far along are you?

PosyFossilsShoes · 09/04/2014 18:47

I have just booked an early scan for Sunday. I'll be 10 weeks on Monday so if all is well we can start to tell the closest friends, then wait for 14 weeks to tell everyone on Facebook etc.

I'm really good at keeping other people's secrets but CRAP at keeping my own so the last 8 weeks have been really difficult!!!

ladydolly · 09/04/2014 20:13

posy we have thee same due date and now the same scan and like you I can keep everyone else's secrets but struggle with my own. This has been torture already spilled to 5 friends and my boss

Roll on Sunday!

utopian99 · 09/04/2014 20:21

This has been harder hiding than last time for us too - think largely because I've been feeling so vile since week 6 (5 more to go if it follows ds' pattern) Also I swear I look about 6 months pregnant already, and I'm only 2!!

alita7 · 09/04/2014 20:43

Argh just had an awful time and then a lovely little moment...

DSD has never acted like this for me before, but has for dp a few times and from the phone calls we've had from her mother, she did it to her when she lived with her lots. Just one of those flat out I'm not doing as I'm told no matter what you say, how loudly you shout or whether you try (and get voicemail) to call Daddy... Which resulted in me standing outside the front door until she went to her room as told. What do you guys do in these situations, I tried to compromise which normally works, but this time she wouldn't budge, I tried to threaten no treats etc, normally I'd try ignoring but wouldn't work in this situation as she'd have got to not do as I said... I just wanted to cry.

The bright site was I just had a gentle feel around the bottom of my belly/ mons pubis and I can feel a really hard thing around the size of an orange, poking out, that certainly wasn't there before I assuming that's my uterus! gave me a little flutter of happiness :)

ElleOhElle · 09/04/2014 20:46

can't hide my bump now really!! how can I be so big at 10 weeks (tmw) I don't think it's just fat where I've eaten so much cos all my trousers still fit around the bottom!! tried on a pair of my old maternity jeans yesterday and to my relief they were far too big. need to find something to wear in the meantime though cos my jeans are getting a bit uncomfortable!

violetlights · 09/04/2014 20:54

Thanks RandomInternetStranger, Caravela and alita7 I rang them today (again) and asked about it. They said they had to have the booking appointment before booking the scan and that I should ask the midwife at the booking appointment whether it was too late (!!!).

I'm not stressing too much as I'm 95% certain I'm going to go private (after a horrible NHS experience) but I wanted the booking appointment first as it would save me money and also help inform my final decision... I guess it's informing it as it is...

PosyFossilsShoes · 09/04/2014 20:58

Haha, ladydolly pregnancy buddies then :-)

So far I've told parents, brother, and two best friends. Need to be able to tell work though - although it's been easy keeping that bit secret as it is REALLY not great timing there and I'm slightly worried about what they're going to say.

Annarose2014 · 09/04/2014 22:02

amylou I'm 10+2. Actually the hospital gave me a due date of Nov 1st, whereas my GP had it at Nov 2nd.

PIL arrived this evening and we told them and MIL's face went all pink with happiness! It was lovely. They never expected it at all, so it was a huge shock for them, in the nicest way.

Actually felt a bit bashful at all the attention actually, I'm not used to people beaming at me! Very good day though.

Only slightly uuurrrggghhh part of the day was midwife proclaiming I'd a BMI of 28 which put me in the overweight category, but then hastily saying "But you're tall so you carry the weight well". Errrrrr.......thanks??? Blush

alita7 · 09/04/2014 22:18

Amy that sounds lovely! Don't worry about your BMI at 10 weeks, it might have gone up loads! Mine was 27 when it was 24 last time I checked ( though she rounded me down instead of up an inch in height :P)

PosyFossilsShoes · 09/04/2014 22:25

Yeah, my BMI has gone up and shot me into the overweight category when I know it was 24 for the last decade before I got pg. Don't care.

Having another slice of Cake now. Grin

MabelMay · 09/04/2014 23:09

Congratulations annarose Grin

No word from maths then? I hope she's okay/scan went well.... ?

Donkey36 · 10/04/2014 06:41

Morning !
Thought I'd check in, been feeling really rough with nausea and vomiting, now 10 +1 on more meds for Vomiting as the first lot were rubbish, now signed off work by the docs till 12 weeks so at least I don't have to try and hide the fact I'm being sick all day at work and have lots of colleagues tell me I'm soooo pale that I'm almost transparent!! :) still waiting to get my scan date For 12 wk scan but our hosp are notorious for sending the letter the day before your appointment .....grrr

Hope all those with scans soon get positive news

Mathssssteacher123 · 10/04/2014 09:30

Hi all thank you so much for all your kind messages. I actually had appendicitis. Had my appendix removed yesterday and had a scan this morning to check on baby. Thank god there was a heartbeat as was so worried after being in so much pain. Just went to go and see my little boy this morning and he's not on oxygen and has had feeding tube removed so hopefully we will both be back home soon. My poor partner looks like he has aged overnight.
Hope everyone else is well

barmybunting · 10/04/2014 09:37

Oh maths, that is brilliant news. What a relief that all is well with baby and you and your son are both on the mend. I am so pleased to hear that.

Take care of each other and I hope you are all home soon. Your DP must be very relieved!

OMG Maths how terrifying, what terrible timing :/
Hope you and your little boy are well on the mend soon xxx

ladydolly · 10/04/2014 10:00

Maths You and your family are heroes! That's so much to go through even without a baby on the way. Really pleased it's good news. Take care of yourselves!

alita7 · 10/04/2014 11:13

wow maths that's both awesome and bad news as no one wants an operation! but then I bet you're just happy you have a baby :)

StudyFullTime · 10/04/2014 11:40

bleurgh...just been sent home from work, I was sick 3 times in 20 minutes Envy

Tigsy · 10/04/2014 11:40

Maths sorry you're having a rubbish time with it, but glad that baby is ok. Hope you and your ds are feeling better soon.

RandomInternetStranger · 10/04/2014 11:51

Blimey maths! Hope you're both back up and about soon! I hope the scar is OK with the growing bump too!

I went out with some girlfriends for a drink last night for the first time in 7 weeks and it was nice to see the girls but I've noticed I'm far more outspoken and less tolerant than usual. One has a total A - hole boyfriend who treats her like crap and I usually smile & nod, smile & nod, but last night I didn't. And whereas usually things don't phase me and I don't comment on other's opinions and parenting decisions I did last night. I didn't think I was very different and was handling the hormones well (in public at least) but seems I am not so controlled as I thought. Blush No arguments or anything, but I did comment on my friend's idea of toilet training, the boyfriend, another's opinion on me doing this alone, etc. I think the name Patience for a girl is out with this one!! Confused

alita7 · 10/04/2014 12:01

Haha random I am also a bit mouthy :p especially to dp :p
