That sounds like a good plan Bex. Hopefully when you meet him, he will pop his name straight into your head! Fingers crossed you and your DP can agree on a few options to help before hand as well!

Yes, my epu scan is on Thurs morn Bex. I really just want it to be Thurs now so it's closer to the end of the week! Wink

RhiBee29 · 25/03/2014 20:50

blamber I'm having sharp stabbing pain a couple of times a day on the right, Dr Google says its normal round ligament pain but I'm going to mention it at my booking appt on Friday, I'll let you know the outcome. Every twinge sends me into panic so your not alone Grin

barmybunting · 25/03/2014 20:50

And blamber, yes, I am of the opinion we are having a boy because surely no girl would ever inflict awful morning sickness on her mum when she might experience it herself Wink ! I do seriously wonder about that.

Statistically though, we are more likely to have a girl. Studies have been carried on military fastjet pilots, which is what DH does, and they are statistically more likely to have girls because of something to with the impact fastjet flying has on sperm, girl sperm is more common to survive for them. How accurate said studies are, I don't know, but anicdotaly (spelling?) a lot more of DH flying colleagues have girls than boys!

WinterLover · 25/03/2014 20:56

Had my booking appointment today, they've put me as consultant led care due to DS being prem Sad was hoping to have a midwife led care this time

blamber · 25/03/2014 21:06

bex, that explains it Smile

rhi, yes let me know please!

barmy, that is very interesting, I didn't know that! That's quite a cool job your DH has.

winter, what are the disadvantages to being on consultant led care?

Tigsy · 25/03/2014 21:13

Winter sorry it wasn't what you were hoping for but most important thing is a happy! healthy outcome and at least you'll be closely monitored

flirty30s · 25/03/2014 21:13

Can I join please? Due date approx 22nd Nov.

Having quite a strange time...

5th March: +ve opk
DtD every day up to 9th Mar
16th March: AF
17th March: BFN
18th March: BFN (kept testing bc I felt pregnant for no reason!)
20th March: BFP
BFP lines continued to get darker
22nd March: started bleeding and has been continuing ever since
25th Mar: still BFP but bleeding has gotten heavier, redder and slight cramping in right side.

As I'm trying this I am thinking how negative it sounds, yet I still feel pregnant and positive even tho I don't really have any other big symptoms. Tired and peeing a lot but this happens at times for me.

Would love to hear from any of you who have experienced bleeding like this and it has ended up ok??

Sleepingstarsmommy · 25/03/2014 21:14

Nessalina I'm thinking of getting the nifty test done but the cheapest I've found is £295?? Think I will probably have it as soon as possible (10 weeks??) as I really want to know that everything is ok and find out if it's team blue or pink

I thought I was having a boy last time and my angel was a boy, this time I am thinking its a girl. Don't know why just do Confused

I'm heading off to bed as Im shattered. My 12.5 hour shift turned into a 13 hour shift. Was hectic but at least the time went quickly!!

barmybunting · 25/03/2014 21:18

winter I'm sorry to hear it isn't what you hoped for. I hope they look after you!

blamber I think it's probably a load of wives' tales, but someone told me about it years ago and I looked it up. A bunch of researchers in America researched it years ago, and someone or other picked it up and followed it through to show the results. It was an interesting read and I suppose has some vague sense in it given the speed they are flying at and the impact on their bodies day to day. Who knows!

Flirty Have you contacted your gp? There are a number of us who have had bleeding on here, and had early scans at the epu to see what is going on as a result. I've got an early scan booked with the epu for Thursday when I'll be 6+4 due to early bleeding for about 2 weeks around the time of bfp.

Tigsy · 25/03/2014 21:32

flirty what you describe certainly sounds very confusing. I think you should definitely try to see someone- GP or midwife as think you could really do with a scan or some blood tests to make sense of what is going on for you.

AlpacaYourThings · 25/03/2014 21:38

Not as many symptoms for me today. I did take a pregnancy test again today. That was the 5th 1st in the past 5 days. Addicted? Me? No Grin

Had really bad nausea this morning.

Just watched a few videos about what the baby is doing at the minute and it is amazing. [hormonal]

BexBoo12 · 25/03/2014 21:48

Alita, yes I did the bicarbonate soda test, which was right!! I did the ring in your hand with gold chain thing, it was right!! I also did the gold chain over my tummy, it was right too!! The only thing that was wrong that I tried was the Chinese gender prediction calendar x

Barmy, Thursday will seem like a lifetime away but it'll soon be here. What time is your scan? Xx

alita7 · 25/03/2014 21:54

flirty speak to your gp or epu if you can tomorrow morning.

How heavy is it in comparison to your normal period? I don't want to worry you but equally start preparing yourself for the chance that it might not be good news :/ but a mothers instinct counts for a lot, I had some red blood (very little but I didn't know whether it would increase at the time) at about 6 weeks and i just knew straight away that my baby was ok, and I have a healthy baby with a heart beat measuring fine at 6 weeks 5 days. now I'm 7 weeks 6 days and I think all is fine.
Also are you sure you're due 22nd november? I'm due the 6th and my positive o test was 13th/ 14th feb. so I would have thought you're due 1st Dec? double check with your gp to be sure :)

barmybunting · 25/03/2014 21:56

That's funny about two of the tests being right Bex! It must have been lovely to see baby again? Is everything else looking ok?

My scan is at 8.30 on Thurs. I reckon everything is going to be fine, I'm feeling positive about it. I just want it to be Thursday so it's closer to the end of the week, and more importantly, the end of term! I am on a major countdown to a week on Friday here. I have some serious sleeping planned for the holidays!

alita7 · 25/03/2014 22:00

oops flirty I misread it should say 28th November not 2nd December.

feeling super sick today so ordered sea bands on ebay. also feeling quite sensitive :p I'm a bit grumpy as now DSD is sick and DP has his college course on Wednesdays so as im off work anyway I'm looking after her, I wouldn't mind and normally id enjoy us time but I've been so looking forward to a day of me time and I'm so tired I want to sleep all day!

alita7 · 25/03/2014 22:02

sorry for another post didn't see bexs reply... wow so super accurate for you then! I'm half tempted to do a harmony test to find out, does anyone know about them?

Nessalina · 25/03/2014 22:45

There's some info about Non-Invasive testing here alita. This company does NIFTY and HARMONY, but the former is much cheaper and does the same job from what I can see.
And you're right sleeping - it is £295, £250 must have been wishful thinking! Smile

OP posts:
alita7 · 25/03/2014 23:07

wow that's expensive... doesn't look like I'll be doing that one! If it's less invasive than Nhs tests why isn't it standard procedure?!

RandomInternetStranger · 25/03/2014 23:57

Good grief finally caught up! And now I can't even remember what I was going to post/comment on!

Announced it to cousin, aunt & uncle today. Cousin is due her first in 5 weeks so it's nice we're both due within 6 months of each other. Our mums are over the moon & it'll be nice for the kids to grow up together. We took a photo of us back to back with her 8 month & my 8 week 'bump' except I just look like I've eaten too many pies. Grin

I think this is a boy, I'm so greasy and feel like utter shit. Envy I felt great with DD. My boobs are killing me and I feel sick, gone off so many foods but constantly hungry.

Went to see my mum's osteopath today because I had such bad SPD last time and have back problems and hypermobility and she said I'm holding together really well so far. Hoping to ward off the state I got into last time, or at least hold it off as long as possible! So far so good.

I'm under consultant led care this time which I don't mind, makes no odds to me really. Made my next appointment for in 3 weeks time today and receptionist gave me my blood results which were apparently all "satisfactory", whatever that means.

Feel sick and generally shit again so going to go to bed at last. Taken me nearly an hour to catch up & reply!

amylou85 · 26/03/2014 06:19

Think I'll be out of this group soon guys :-( started spotting yesterday and carried on through the day. Found a small lump when I wiped that looked very much like the pictures you see of how baby is developing. Woke up this morning with no sore boobs and still spotting. I just know I've lost it :-((( off to docs but may be bowing out :-(

WinterLover · 26/03/2014 06:25

I think its because last time I didn't have a good experience with the consultant. Apparently it's all changed at the hospital so hopefully it will be better this yime round.

its stupid really, I was looking forward to a less prodding and poking pregnancy. Im already getting stressed about having to arrange appointments outside work hours.

WinterLover · 26/03/2014 06:26

amy im so sorry Sad take it easy and I hope the doctors send you for a scan asap xx

Sleepingstarsmommy · 26/03/2014 06:29

amy so sorry Thanks Be gentle and kind to yourself.

Sleepingstarsmommy · 26/03/2014 06:42

Alita whilst is less invasive than amnio it doesn't give you a definitive yes or no. It justs gives you your risk - the same as the combined nuchal test that the nhs offers only with more accurate results. If it came back high risk an invasive test would still be needed for a definite answer. However the improved accuracy means that the number of people receiving 'false' high risk and needing invasive testing would be reduced (along with the associated risks and heartache involved).

The prof who developed the nuchal test that the nhs currently use is campaigning for these new sorts of tests to be used by the nhs but as they are currently so expensive it's not likely to happen in the immediate future Sad.

Amyrose82 · 26/03/2014 07:16

Just catching up and didn't want to read and run Amy - have everything crossed for you, take care of yourself Thanks
