So I got a stupidly early faint positive today at 9dpo when I should definitely know better after a chemical last month. According to the Calendar I'm due December 1st so I've decided to be massively optimistic and start this thread. Is there anybody put there?

Welcome pickles !

Vicky5910 · 19/04/2014 22:02

Drewswife welcome :) it's time to start taking folic acid supplements, ASAP, then ring your doctors and ask what their policy is for pregnancy. Usually doctors don't need to see you, I just had to see the midwife at about 8 weeks (I've been, I'm 7 weeks 4 days).
Scans are at 12 weeks and 20 weeks.
Appointments with the midwife vary, your midwife will give you a schedule at your first appointment :)

threeicklepickles · 19/04/2014 22:12

Drewswife, I had to go via my gp to get an appointment to see a midwife, so I think it varies. This time I'm going to ring the midwife team first to see if I can skip the gp appointment cos all they did was say congrats and passed my details onto the midwife team.

Can someone post a link to the stats page please? Ta.

StetsonsAreCool · 19/04/2014 22:13

Thanks Poly, I think I'm just going to be generally more worried this time! I got pg in our first month trying which seems a bit unreal tbh. Plus I've got a really big year, with DD starting school, a qualification to complete (in December!) and a big family holiday in August. Plus 3 weddings and possibly a house move - we'll probably put that on hold! My timing is exemplary...

Pain is always in exactly the same spot, about 2 inches in from my left hip, about 2 inches below belly button level. Bah. Will just torture myself until I can speak to someone.

Drews, last time I saw the GP, who said "Congratulations. Are you taking Folic Acid? I'll book you in with the midwife." End of appointment Grin. This time I'm going to go straight to the midwife! Last time my booking in was about a week before my 12 week scan. Hopefully not the same this time, as I've got exams that week!

Hi all, this is my first post. Started trying in January and finally got my first positive test this morning. Very faint line on a cheapy test and then used the digital CB I've been saving for months :) which confirmed pregnant 1 - 2 weeks. Hooray! AF due 3 days ago, some light cramping and nausea. Mostly just freaking out right now, due date December 25th.

AnnieHoo · 19/04/2014 22:30

Hello! I'd like to join please! Jumping over from the Clomid thread.

I'm 7 weeks, due around 7th December after 3rd round of Clomid. I'm another "oldie" at 40 and this will be my first if all goes well. Yikes!! Feeling queasy a lot, tired and sore boobs. Feeling well and very happy but a little bit nervous as had a MC at 8.5 weeks in Nov 2012. I hope this one sticks!!!!!

ImBrian · 19/04/2014 22:47

Hello to all the new people and congratulations on your bfps.

I had cramp for about the first 6 weeks and since then a bit achy now and then. Apparently it's all normal and just another way our bodies like to freak us out

This weeks job is to get a miss wife's appointment, I'm at least 8 weeks so think I need to get a move on!

Tonight my nausea has been at its worst and a bit of heart burns kicking in. I'm also bloated and can't fasten my jeans up!

Ha! I was just saying to DH that I've got heartburn tonight. Surely that's meant to come later?

Thanks everyone for the welcomes!

I added my details to the stats sheet. It's great having it like that to see who shares similar details. Will the link be added to the first post when we start a new forum?

Sorry Whatsonemore, I can't answer your question but hope everything is ok.

I'm feeling sorry for myself this morning...morning sickness plus a cough and cold which feels like I need antibiotics :( Time to crack open the Easter eggs!!

ImBrian · 20/04/2014 10:23

Whatsonemore. I think this is what's happening to me, tests strong one minute faint the next. I can tell some days I have more hcg as I feel worse so it could be that as well. I've worried myself over it and now I've given up. A line is a line and it's not supposed to tell you how pregnant you are. I had loads of cramps around the same time as you but that's definitely very normal. I'm 8 weeks now and apart from the odd twinge the cramps have worn off as has my dodgy belly! Still feel sick most of the day and it's worse on a night.

Morning all. Not much change here, still no major symptoms and cramping is more infrequent. Time is going sooo slowly though. Hurry up 12 weeks scan!

Have a bbq with friends this afternoon sup won't be drinking. Think it will be okay as hubby drove lady time we were there a couple of weeks ago so well just make it my turn to drive. Unfortunately we then have two 30th birthdays the next two weekends one of which I may find it more difficult to go unnoticed...

PolytheneGirl · 20/04/2014 11:17

Well I'm completely fed up of this 8ww (BFP to 12wks) I'm currently hiding out in the bedroom at PIL's house as I only have one clean outfit I can wear and I've put it on and my belly looks ridiculous! I wish I'd got a big baggy cardigan with me!

Feeling crappy, looking fat and trying to pretend everything is "normal" Confused I just can't wait till I get to 12 wks! plus I may actually relax and stop crotch watch!

PolytheneGirl · 20/04/2014 11:20

Sorry! I'm such a whinging cow bag this pg!

HAPPY EASTER ALL Easter Smile

Vicky5910 · 20/04/2014 11:33

Polythene this is the hardest time I swear except the last week. Who else would put up with feeling sick, fat and unable to eat nice food or drink, all the while not telling anyone so everyone thinks you're just being an asshat!! At least in the last part when you think your foof is gonna drop out from the pressure and you're waddling everyone knows you're pregnant and can wait on you! Happy Easter :) it'll be scan time soon, honest!

Vicky5910 · 20/04/2014 11:34

Isn't this ironic, my pregnancy aversion this week is..... Chocolate!

PolytheneGirl · 20/04/2014 11:39

Thanks Vicky you've just made me giggle! Easter Grin

SassehMonsta · 20/04/2014 11:53

Also hating on sweet things, and it seems this weekends aversion is margarine. So the mashed potato last night tasted foul (gave it to the dog) & my sandwich this mornibg looks like its gking the same way!

Cineraria · 20/04/2014 13:38

I don't have any horrible symptoms but I've been burping all the time, often with loud comedy gurgling sound effects, since a couple of days before I tested and it's really embarrassing. DH was disgusted initially, thinking I was doing it loudly deliberately, and said he hadn't realised he'd married an old man but following the test result, he's finding it hugely funny.

I told him that if he was a gentleman, he'd make sure that by the time people turn to see where the noise is coming from, he'd be patting his chest and saying excuse me as if he'd done it but he says the horrified look on my face would give it away!

Vicky5910 · 20/04/2014 14:05

Haha Cineraria I'd blame him anyway, say loudly 'HONEY!! Manners, seriously!' Then apologise on his behalf :)

CallingAllEngels · 20/04/2014 17:25

I can always get away with blaming any nasty sounds or smells on my DH!

No food aversions here yet, thank goodness. Last time with DS I went off spices and sauces from 6-12 weeks (so had to have meat, veg, potaties/pasta separate and not touching on my plate - all very boring, dh was putting chilli sauce on everything), lost a few kilos and was knackered, so am trying to make the most of feeling okay apart from some mild nausea.

Spent today trying not to look pg! Wish the next 8 weeks would just disappear.

PolytheneGirl · 20/04/2014 17:52

I'm with you there Engels. I've spent all day trying not to look pg in front of the in-laws. DH's cousin who is14wks looks less pg than me! Does this bloating ever go away? Boo to the 8ww of secrets, lies, bloated belly and boob covering, nausea and stress! Roll on 12 wk scans and announcements!
