So I got a stupidly early faint positive today at 9dpo when I should definitely know better after a chemical last month. According to the Calendar I'm due December 1st so I've decided to be massively optimistic and start this thread. Is there anybody put there?

ImBrian - glad you've stepped away from the pee sticks, my mum would say 'no good comes from worrying about what maybe' - its never stopped me worrying but I thought I'd pass it on.

callingall Is it a 10k race you are training for? I am training for a 15 mile cross country at the end of the month as well as a thing called the polaroid 10k challenge - which is a series of 4 10k races, each a week apart. I will be 8 weeks when they start and 12 weeks when they finish. I asked the doctor who strongly advised me to keep up with the training as long as I felt I could but to be aware that the closer to 12 weeks I get the less likely I will want to compete cause I'll feel knackered. Already I am finding the longer runs much more tiring than I did a few weeks ago.

I now carry water while I run making sure I'm hydrated and I am also spending much more time stretching pre and post run.

I guess its a individual choice - I know some women who consider exercising in pregnancy about as harmful as a 20 a day smoking habit.

Today I signed up for a antenatal yoga class yoga bellies which is for people at 14-16 weeks - planning ahead a bit I know (but there is a long waiting list)

dgift · 19/04/2014 13:40

@chillychicken, I did scan @6wks for my DS and the machine was able to detect a sac only. I am just worried.

oohdaddypig · 19/04/2014 14:31

Dgift - are you worried due to a lack of symptoms or other reasons? I had an early miscarriage before and to be honest I continued to have ALL symptoms including hideous nausea so I am not sure symptom spotting is accurate. I think each pg is different. I think I would leave an early scan as late as possible as there is nothing worse than not seeing what is expected and having to wait a week....

I am exercising too. I gave up running a few years ago and I now do quite intense DVDs - Jillian Michaels mainly - and am continuing to do so although I'm not jumping around as much (no logic to that tbh - just dont want to). I find it helps me sleep better and feel less sick. I spent a bit of time researching it and it seems like moderate exercise is good rather than detrimental. I think as long as you feel good during and after it is fine.

I have a Nipper 360 double buggy and LOVE it. Off road or street, really light, can steer with one hand. Picked it up off gumtree for 100 quid.

I have realised that sugar is making my m/s worse!

Vicky5910 · 19/04/2014 16:28

All day sickness can just fluff off!!! I'm miserable! :( and under so much pressure from work, I'm not at all able to cope with their nonsense.
Anyone told work yet?!

dgift · 19/04/2014 16:29

@hoodaddypig. yea bc of no symptoms .

Martie1 · 19/04/2014 16:29

Told my parents this morning and they are both delighted! So happy to have told someone else too and also think my dh is enjoying having others in on out secret. We're going to tell dh's parents in a couple of weeks as they are on holidays atm.

Got all the info from my mum- she never had any morning sickness, no real cravings and was relatively small for all her pregnancies, not really putting on weight. Fantastic news, I'm hoping for similar plain sailing. She had pre-eclampsia for my oldest sibling and had a c-section and all other pregnancies were c-section thereafter because her first was, so she has no advice on labour. Great to be able to discuss all this with mum.

Have been having a stabbing pain in my right hand side all day intermittently, a bit worried as I know this is not a good sign. But it feels too high up to be womb orientated though. Any ideas ladies?

Happy easter all!!! Xxx

Vicky5910 · 19/04/2014 17:34

Martie if it gets worse you should get checked out, but chances are it's bowel related if it's higher up!

oohdaddypig · 19/04/2014 18:28

Martie - I have had the same pain the last couple of days. I'm also a bit Hmm about it. Mine is worse when I jog. I am hoping its ligaments.... I have no idea who I would fone if worries as everything is shut for Easter!

CallingAllEngels · 19/04/2014 18:45

Yep, 10k ffallada .I think I'll just keep training, and if I don't feel up to it I won't do it. I may have to tell my training partner soon so we can adapt/slow down.

I stopped at 4w in last pg beacuse I felt really nauseous quickly but perhaps it would have helped oohdaddy.

In my first (successful) pg I was really nauseous between 6 and 12 weeks. Only feel mildly nauseous right now and not off any food yet.

We are going to England next week martie and have discussed it with DH and am going to tell my DM. With DS we didn't tell our families until we'd had the scan at 11 weeks, because we were so scared about something going wrong. But I was very open a complete blabbermouth when I had my 2nd mc and I figure if it all goes pear-shaped again, I will tell my DM anyway, so why not share the joy now?

vicky I won't tell my work till I have my scan at 11/12 weeks. That will be enough time for them to take my ML leave into consideration for next year's timetable. Gutted that it means I won't be able to take my year 12 through to their exams next year. I'll leave end of November and earliest I'd be back is beginning of April (we get 16 weeks paid ML here in NL). Not sure how many people will have guessed by then though...only 4 weeks and already have a big bump. Prom is in 7 weeks and sure my dress won't fit by then! May have to wear my wedding dress (was 7 months pg when we got married).

dgift · 19/04/2014 19:18

@Martie1 ,thanks for sharing. Am encouraged!

PolytheneGirl · 19/04/2014 19:50

This f-ing cm is driving me insane! Been out all day at the zoo with DS, DH and PILs and it has been none stop and (tmi) went right through my undies and soaked my jeans! I've been uncomfortable and self conscious all day. I've just been to the supermarket and bought myself some panty liners! Blush Hopefully they'll do the trick! I hope it stops soon anyway.

I've got my appetite back though which is good but I look so bloated!

chilly this weekend I had the choice of going to my DB's and having a BBQ with all my friends and some family but turned it down and came to PIL's as there would be lots of booze a DB's and PIL have a dry house! Just 7 weeks till I can get back to some kind of normal and stop avoiding people!

DrewsWife · 19/04/2014 20:26

Do you have room for another? 5 weeks gone if we take first day or last period. And 3+ if we use the stick I peed on at 3am Grin

ParanoidCoventGarden75 · 19/04/2014 20:49

shanels glad to hear good news from you.
I'm in Germany for the weekend, told strangers sharing small compartment in the train that I was pregnant, had to explain why I was taking big needles out of my bag and pulling up my dress, no shame it's good to be able to tell someoneGrin
Mum also had no symptoms and the birth was so quick that dad arrived too late and missed it.

PolytheneGirl · 19/04/2014 21:00

Covent I actually did the same at the zoo today out of earshot of my MIL and was discussing double buggies with a lovely couple. It was lovely to feel normal about being pg. What are you taking needles for? (If you don't mind me asking) I'm diabetic and have absolutely no shame about taking my jabs in public too many years have made me give up caring!

CallingAllEngels · 19/04/2014 21:01

Hi drew !

Is anyone else outside the UK?

ParanoidCoventGarden75 · 19/04/2014 21:05

Welcome drews, make yourself comfy.
poly I'm on progesterone and blood thinner, part of ivf. Figured out going to disabled loo with OH would have looked a lot worse Shock

DrewsWife · 19/04/2014 21:07

Might introduce myself if that's ok. I'm 37. Mum to a just about 18 year old. Conceived on cycle 5. Come from Scotland.

Today feeling massively bloated and sicky. All nausea nothing more and feel like I have hit a wall.

PolytheneGirl · 19/04/2014 21:09

Ah. I hope little bean is getting well settled in then! Fx and yy a group visit to the loo never looks good!

PolytheneGirl · 19/04/2014 21:10

Welcome and congrats drewswife Thanks

StetsonsAreCool · 19/04/2014 21:18

More newbies!

Feeling very bloated today, my stomach has gone very round. I actually look pg today, which is depressing as there's plenty of time for that.

Can I ask a question about early scans? How early can you have them? My cramps have been getting steadily worse, and always low down on the left hand side. Just want to get my mind put at rest really, as a friend has just had emergency surgery on a ruptured ectopic, and I didn't have anything like this last time so I've got nothing to refer to. I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow, and I'm ringing the GP to sort my booking in appt on Tuesday.

dgift · 19/04/2014 21:20

@CallingallEngels,
i am in.West Africa .

PolytheneGirl · 19/04/2014 21:24

Hi Stetson I know nothing about early scans but I just wanted to say I'm 5+2 and I've been none stop cramping since about a week before af was due and sometimes they are quite bad too. You are not alone, it is scary though! Where are you getting most of your pain? Mine is low and on both sides.

threeicklepickles · 19/04/2014 21:32

Can I join you all?

Got a faint bfp on thurs, and in the absence of af, and the presence of v sore boobs I took another test this morning, and it's still a bfp!

This will be dc3

Minion · 19/04/2014 21:35

Anyone feeling their cramps in their backs too? Today's been pretty bad. No bleeding tho so hoping it's a good sign. This

DrewsWife · 19/04/2014 21:40

We had to go buy new trousers today as I am utterly bloated. I agree about the cramps. They can be painful. But if I remember the first time around I was told it was my womb stretching to accomodate the baby.

So remind me what my next step is... Do I go to gp to arrange an appointment ?? Do I take anything?? I'm lost. When do they do scans?
