WELCOME! Thanks This thread is for all Mums-to-be expecting Maybies babies in (and around) May 2014! Please come and join the fun.

Put your feet up, get yourself a (decaf?) cuppa Brew and settle in to hear the aches and pains, trials and tribulations, shopping excitement and hospital bag woes of those in their third trimester.

Hopefully you'll find a listening ear and a wealth of knowledge. Everyone welcome, especially if you're new to MN and are just peeking in as you start your maternity leave.

If you'd like to mark your place perhaps you could tell us who you are and how long you've got to go!

Happy chatting Maybies!

I am suffering with overheating at night too, it's very unusual for me as I'm normally freezing all the time!

bornin hope you are ok.

McBaby · 21/03/2014 15:15

4 hours of regular Braxton hicks/contractions I'm struggling to talk through plus v low back ache and downwards pressure during conractions/Bh. Waiting for triage to phone me back it's been over an hour since I called them.

dobedobedo · 21/03/2014 15:17

Gosh mcbaby!! I'd get over to labour ward sharpish.

moas · 21/03/2014 15:17

Took DS to the swimming pool today and we had such a good time. It was amazing to be able to lift him and throw him around like I used to before pregnancy! And jacuzzi was such a treat for my pelvis/lower back and made for a very placid toddler! Total bliss.

moas · 21/03/2014 15:19

Cross-post! mcbaby wow! Hope LO hangs in there!

bushprincess · 21/03/2014 15:19

bornin hope you're ok after your tumble.

samba that made me laugh so much!!!

moo what a lovely gush over your DH - its good for us all to rember how great they (most of the time anyway Wink!)

Hope everyone has a lovely friday eve

dobedobedo · 21/03/2014 16:43

bush how long until you fly to Blighty?

moo it is nice that you say such nice things about your dh. I seem to only moan about mine on here when he pisses me off! But he is a good egg really. This morning I was running about naked, late for work and he was way-too-obviously oogling me and saying I was beautiful, despite looking like a giant hippo. And he does absolutely everything in the house, including the cooking because he wants me to put my feet up after work and not do anything.

I must be pretty hard to live with at the minute, with the crying and whinging and irrational anger and being up and down during the night and apparently snoring like a train. Even though this is all his fault Grin , he's coping pretty well!

I'm 33 weeks today! This weekend I think we're going to do a tour of the maternity unit at the hospital. Everyone I see says "Not long to go now!" and it's not. Only 4 weeks until the drop zone starts!

MoominIsWaitingToMeetHerMiniMe · 21/03/2014 16:49

Labour ward McBaby!!!

So the deposit is paid and the flat is ours, we have our keys and went over there earlier. Moved a few bits, but we've got family coming up in convoy to help with the move on Sunday. Hoping baby stays put a little while longer though as it seems to have triggered some fierce painful tightenings, nothing regular though so hoping they're BH rather than contractions!

So my task for tonight is to pack as much as I can with as little effort possible!

Hope you're ok bornin

34+4 Shock when did we all get so pregnant?

Bornin1984 · 21/03/2014 17:16

Just leaving hospital now! Had another anti d and now have a very sore back !!!

MrsFooCough · 21/03/2014 18:19

NannyPlumForPM · 21/03/2014 18:45

Good luck mcbaby!! Thinking of you :) sorry can't name check anyone but am also chuckling at sambas nipple sunbathing. Hope everyone else is ok !

loopylou52 · 21/03/2014 18:59

Hope you're doing ok mcbaby! Shock Hope you're ok now too bornin.

Good luck with the packing moomin. Moving is a nightmare at the best of times, let alone when pregnant and in pain, but it'll all be worth it when you have your lovely new home to yourselves, all ready to bring minimoomin home to. Smile

The nipple sunbathing thing made me laugh earlier too. Grin The thought of sunburnt nipples makes me wince though!

Hezbean · 21/03/2014 19:09

Samba that's is one of the funniest things I've ever heard!!! Peephole maternity t shirts - the new line for spring summer 2014 from Mamas and Papas maternity collection???!!!! Can't see it catching on personally. Brilliant.

Mcbaby - definitely labour ward! Hope you're ok.

Moomin congrats on the flat, v exciting!!

Born in - hope you're ok, ouch.

Hello to everyone!!

Xavielli · 21/03/2014 19:13

Hope you're ok mcbaby and bornin

Good luck moving moomin don't do too much!

I'm collecting my buggy tomorrow morning! So exciting, I'm going to start using it as a single straight away with dd2 - getting my money's worth :)

mrsmummytobe · 21/03/2014 19:51

Hope you're ok mcbaby & bornin

samba that made me laugh!

Sorry for my mammoth moany post yesterday - was feeling very sorry for myself. Actually things are looking a lot better now & it seems we definitely will get some sort of mortgage, even if it may not be for the amount we originally wanted to borrow. I never want to go through anything like this again. People are so right when they say moving house is one of the most stressful things you can do!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend & thanks for listening to all my whinging! :)

McBaby · 21/03/2014 19:55

Irritable uterus strikes again - still contracting every 10 minutes but back he as fibrobectin test negative and cervix is closed. We even had a quick scan and everything is ok and got a nice picture of the baby.

loopylou52 · 21/03/2014 20:02

Glad all is ok mcbaby. Hope you're not in too pain.

LongTailedTit · 21/03/2014 21:23

Phew McBaby! Glad you're ok.

Can't believe an actual doc advised you to sunbathe your nips Samba, too daft for words! Honestly, what do they think women in Finland do? Grin
I have once sunburnt my nips in my teens, definitely not something I'd want to repeat! Muchos chafing...

All ok here, the PGP has definitely eased off. Bump has been pretty uncomfortable this week, lots of BH and TinyTit also enjoying a few too many stretches!
Went on a hospital tour this morning as I never managed it with DS, so it was good to have a look around the birth centre and labour ward. Lots of changes in the 3 years since DS, they now have some kind of wireless/waterproof monitoring so even those who need continuous monitoring can use the birthing pools! Very cool.

Also had a pre-baby and birthday get together with my NCT lot , a really lovely afternoon of [tea] & Cake.
And in other good news, the GroClock is finally working with DS! He hasn't come in to our room before 7am for three whole days in a row. He now comes in saying "Mr Sun is in my clock, time to get up!" :)

MoominIsWaitingToMeetHerMiniMe · 21/03/2014 22:52

Glad you're ok McBaby

Mini Moomin is pressing against the scar and oh my god it's uncomfortable Angry but not too much pain tonight thankfully.

OH has come back from work with a big packet of jaffa cakes and plonked them down next to me, before going to cook our tea. Would it be unreasonable of me to assume he intended them all for me to share?

(I hope you'll all say 'not unreasonable at all' because I've already eaten 2)

Bornin1984 · 21/03/2014 23:28

I got Jaffa cakes too tonight I told
Dh if he even looks at them he will eat his balls for his supper WinkWinkWink To be fair he has midget gems!!

They started me on liquid metformin today! Aside from backache from falling down the stairs, punching myself in the eyes
Now I feel really sick and queasy!!!

ClearlyMoo · 22/03/2014 05:30

BornIn you didn't make yourself clear, I thought "midget gems" referred to your OHs anatomy. Ooops. What even are midget gems? Iced gems?! Glad the stair incident has left no permanent damage- ouch tho!

Moomin glad move going ok. Don't you lift a finger!

Told DH about Samba's OB peep-tee suggestion, he thought I should try it in the garden that borders a main road and we share with inlaws! I don't usually tell him MN stuff but that was hilarious.

5am wee break. I came to bed about 10.30 so that's a 6hr+ stint... I am SO thirsty!

Met some antenatal chums for coffee yesterday it was lush! They are all 37 weeks though so I am lagging behind!!

I had such a better day yesterday and I'm hoping with more rest today I will stay ok for family party tomorrow and for work (yes actual plan to go in) on Monday!

Going to order an bednest to hire and a baby car seat from NCT rather than buy. We already have a second hand car seat, but no harm in having two (we have three cars between us and inlaws plus 4 tractors/farm vehicles but baby won't go in those!)

Hugs to all those struggling, espesh GD ladies xxx

So glad to hear all is well mcbaby and bornin

moomin so exciting about the flat - take it easy on sunday though and don't do too much!

mrsmummy glad it sounds like you might be able to get a mortgage after all, it's so stressful the conditions they place upon them, especially when you can afford it but it's how you're paid that is the issue... good luck

dobe flying back on the 8th April, so just over 2 weeks left in Zim, will be sad to leave DH for a month (we're banking on no early arrival of bushbaby!) but quite excited to head home, love seeing my friends and family there!

mamapants · 22/03/2014 06:48

What age is your DS longtail? My DS is terrible for early mornings but I think he's probably far too young for a groclock?

Bornin1984 · 22/03/2014 07:21

Midget gems are sweets similar to wine gums
But smaller Wink

SarahJinx · 22/03/2014 07:29

Morning ladies

I can't keep up! This must be one of the fastest moving threads on here!?

Moomin hope all, goes well with your move, echoing those telling you to take it easy, sit on the sidelines and 'direct' in your best teacher voice would be my recommendation Grin

McBaby, glad all is ok, must have been quite a scare. My sister was born at 32 weeks 28 years ago, it's mind boggling, those tiny beans and so nice to hear news of our teeny Gabriel.

Samba, but do people do it, have you seen evidence? Do you have Brazilian friends that you can ask, I think we need to know! My nips are purple and huge and pointy, usually flat and pink so a biiiig change.

Midwife on Monday for 34 week check. I've been like a cat on a not tin roof since that growth scan, I feel like I want another one nearer the time but I don't know why, I just want to know I think. Nothing else to report except a stinking cold and sore throat making me snore like an effing hippo apparently, DP was up at 6....thems the breaks lover.

Happy Sunny Saturday all
