WELCOME! Thanks This thread is for all Mums-to-be expecting Maybies babies in (and around) May 2014! Please come and join the fun.

Put your feet up, get yourself a (decaf?) cuppa Brew and settle in to hear the aches and pains, trials and tribulations, shopping excitement and hospital bag woes of those in their third trimester.

Hopefully you'll find a listening ear and a wealth of knowledge. Everyone welcome, especially if you're new to MN and are just peeking in as you start your maternity leave.

If you'd like to know how big your baby is this week the check out The Bump

If you'd like to mark your place perhaps you could tell us who you are and how long you've got to go!

Happy chatting Maybies!

Good luck with the move moomin - but sorry you're in so much pain.

I actually had a good night's sleep last night! We listened to my hypnobirthing CD in bed last night before going to sleep so that could be why... I'm not complaining. Miraculously I managed 7 hours without having to get up for a wee. Can't believe it.

It's World Down Syndrome Awareness Day today and in honour of my best friend's gorgeous little boy who's 16 months old and has Downs, I am going to wear odd socks! Apparently this is the done thing :-)

Hezbean · 21/03/2014 09:46

Oh and, off to GPs for 31 week check and whooping cough jab in a minute... yikes.

Bornin1984 · 21/03/2014 10:11

Off to see the consultant for
Rubbish blood sugars:-(

ClearlyMoo · 21/03/2014 11:00

Trying to have a GrinGrinGrin day after being horrible whinge monster yesterday.

I swam 20 lengths this am (not a lot I know but for this waddler it's progress) had breakfast with DH then started WFH at 9am. Just woke up from a 20min power nap! Ooopsie!

Better go back to computer and work mobile and check no one wanted me. I start mat leave two weeks today - clearly not a day too soon!

Oh my goodness, I can't name check everyone but I will try!

Bush, glad you had an awesome holiday

Mrs FC, sorry about the rubbishness (hug)

Moomin, congrats on the flat! Happy moving and hope it takes your mind off the pain!

Bornin, sorry about the rubbish blood sugars, keep us updated

Hugs to everyone else suffering! It will be over soon!

Am I permitted a small gushy moment regarding my dp? He has been so lovely recently, telling me I'm sexy and pretty even though I'm pregnant and stretchmarky and have a cold and have to pee and/or blow my nose all the time! He loves feeling the baby kick and is getting all excited about the arrival! It's so lovely to see, especially as this was an unplanned pregnancy and he was pretty shocked at the change to our life initially, but now he's so happy and buys things for the baby proudly and put together the cot and worked out how the car seat goes in the car etc. and it's so nice Smile I love him and can't wait to have his son Grin

Gushing over. Thank you Grin

Hezbean · 21/03/2014 11:24

Ahhh moo that's lovely. What a great dp!

Bornin1984 · 21/03/2014 11:35

I'm a total idiot and fell down my stairs!!!!

kally195 · 21/03/2014 11:37

moo that's a lovely gush. I am also very gushy about my DH - so far this morning he has given me lovely bump cuddles, spent time talking to and kissing the bump then brought me pain au chocolat in bed. He's also offered to swap roles with me on our nightshift tonight so I have an easier shift. We are lucky ladies.

My positives for the day - after tonight I only have 4 more night shifts until I go on maternity leave. I am about to go and sit in the sunshine, watch the new hobbit film and finish making my hippopotamus. Helps make the horrible headache I woke up with feel better.

Good luck with the move moomin and I hope you don't suffer too much today.

clearly well done on the 20 lengths. At the pool yesterday a completely non pregnant and healthy woman gave up after 8 (she was telling everyone how healthy she was,so it was rather funny), so you are doing fabulously.

bornin hope the consultant is helpful and they work out how to get things under control xx

Happy Friday to everyone - hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

kally195 · 21/03/2014 11:37

bornin are you OK??

kally195 · 21/03/2014 12:14

ooh - Kiddicare have launched their spring clearance if anyone is on the lookout for more baby stuff. If you go through Quidco you get cashback as well xx

sambababy · 21/03/2014 12:14

borning did you fall far? I presume they are checking you out? Hope everything is ok. Remember bubs will be pretty well protected in there.

hezbean 7 hours NO PEE????! Envy I'm struggling to remember those days.

Let me see if I can cheer some of you ladies up and give you a giggle. Over here they seem to think you should sunbathe your nipples when you're pregnant, or maybe just me cos I'm pale. I thought they got naturally darker towards the end of pregnancy anyway but maybe I'm wrong. Anyway...

My OB asked if I had somewhere I could sunbathe at home (topless frowned upon in public in Brazil). I said yes but I get too hot really easily in pregnancy so I don't do it. Her completely poker-faced solution for this was as follows: get a big old t-shirt and cut nipple holes in it Shock Hmm Hmm

So there you have it. The pregnancy peephole t-shirt. Any takers? Grin

MrsFooCough · 21/03/2014 12:25

Haha samba do they think the baby won't be able to see them otherwise?! I'm crazy pale, boobs never see the light of day so no tan there, and my nips are practically BLACK COFFEE COLOURED by now. Normally a sort of pale-ish pinky brown, so that's a BIG change. I might end up looking like a boob panda if I were to sunbathe them!

ClearlyMoo · 21/03/2014 12:31

Samba that is HILARIOUS!

Talking of being hot, is anyone else sweating like a beast at night?! I wake up to soggy pyjamas. Mainly under the b00bs and my back. We don't have heating on in our room and only have spring duvet on!

Should I be worrying? I suppose what I sweat out I don't have to waddle to the loo to wee out....

Just sent some fearsome emails for work... Think my clients not going to be happy. Especially as I signed off with "I'm on leave this afternoon and start mat leave 03/04" Shock

Good luck with the move moomin.

Hope you're ok bornin both from a blood sugar and tumble down the stairs point of view.

Clearly, power naps are awesome!!

Hugs to anyone suffering who I've forgotten.

How you feeling this morning MrsFoo? If it's any consolation my first week of excellent blood sugar numbers has suddenly turned to crap so you're not alone.

Samba that really made me lol, what a bizarre idea!

It's ds's 6th birthday today which is lovely except for the fact I won't be able to have a piece of birthday cake! Boo, hiss ;-)

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 21/03/2014 12:37

Moo you know he's a keeper when he's still telling you you're sexy even tho you Inadvertantly blow your nose and pee at the same time Wink

Hope the move goes well Moomin

Samba Shock seriously? What's the medical reason given for sunbathing nipples? Crazy!

sambababy · 21/03/2014 13:05

Haha I have no idea! I tried googling it and found people saying it's a myth to help toughen up your nipples or something. I might make the ugly peephole tshirt just to catch DH's face on camera, it'll be comedy gold. Not sure it'll improve things in the bedroom though lol.

sambababy · 21/03/2014 13:13

clearly I think it's normal to feel hotter in pregnancy, we're carrying around the equivalent of a hot water bottle! I have air con in my bedroom, without it I wouldn't sleep. During the day I walk around like an oil slick of sweat, it's really attractive.

impatientlywaiting · 21/03/2014 13:15

Ahhh I'm so soppy these days.

Just welled up looking at Tom from McFly's song and time lapse video of his wife's pregnancy.

It's here for any other soppy wimps who want to see it www.parentdish.co.uk/2014/03/21/from-bump-to-buzz-mcfly-tom-fletcher-shares-amazing-time-lapse-video-wife-giovanna-pregnancy/

impatientlywaiting · 21/03/2014 13:16

Clearly I've found that I've been waking up with hot sweats in the middle of the night too.

ClearlyMoo · 21/03/2014 13:43

Impatiently. Glad it's not just me with all the over heating

Love that video... I posted it on here yesterday. Or at least I thought I did!

I was super busy yesterday and must have missed it when I was skim reading the thread last night. I'm starting to remember reading something about it now. Such a lovely video.

Eek it will be us with our babies in the next 4-11ish weeks. Ahh.

MrsFooCough · 21/03/2014 14:02

Ohhh bornin I hope you're ok xxx

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 21/03/2014 14:08

Impatiently 4-11 weeks??!?? lalalala I'm not listening. Dh and I are off to Mothercare later to buy everything we need. I can't help thinking once I've done that baby will think it's time to come!

PixieBumbles · 21/03/2014 14:32

350-odd posts to go before a new thread (although with the amount of -nattering we do that won't be very long!).

Anyone reckon we'll have another baby before we reach the end of this thread? We're rapidly reaching the point when our little ones will start making their entrances!

dobedobedo · 21/03/2014 14:43

bornin hope you're okay!

I woke up last night sweating so it's good to hear it's relatively normal! I'm always hot during the day though. My boss sits with her radiator on and I have two cool air fans pointed at me. I'm so glad we aren't pregnant through the summer!
