WELCOME! Thanks This thread is for all Mums-to-be expecting Maybies babies in (and around) May 2014! Please come and join the fun.

Put your feet up, get yourself a (decaf?) cuppa Brew and settle in to hear the aches and pains, trials and tribulations, shopping excitement and hospital bag woes of those in their third trimester.

Hopefully you'll find a listening ear and a wealth of knowledge. Everyone welcome, especially if you're new to MN and are just peeking in as you start your maternity leave.

If you'd like to mark your place perhaps you could tell us who you are and how long you've got to go!

Happy chatting Maybies!

SarahJinx · 13/03/2014 20:13

Totally agree with the others Potato, something isn't right whether pregnancy related or not.

let us know?

Bornin, nasty, can't imagine a sick bug with a huge hurry bump!!

chip, hope you are feeling better?

dobedo.....yikes!! That feels a looong way away. Mind you, my ds, almost three told my mum this week that mummy has a baby in her tummy that daddy put there with his winkle...Hmm so perhaps not as far as I think!!

My Physio appointment came today, they called, can I make tomorrow!! Thankfully I can. What does a person wear for obstetric physio? And, do i need to shave my legs? My pain is mostly from fanjo, pubic bone...am a little mind boggled!!

NannyPlumForPM · 13/03/2014 20:26

Mmm Sarah I would defo shave legs! (And maybe a garden trim mow in my case too)

And polly I would ring up nhs direct to be honest and bypass antenatal. Obviously explain you are pg and go through their checklist after callin 111. It could be a panic attack or somethin or it could be a bit more urgent but they will know if you hit a big trigger!

Blind spots and memory lost sounds a bit neurological Hmm

SarahJinx · 13/03/2014 20:39

Oh oh! Does that mean I need to wear good knicks and will be removing trousers (was planning on wearing leggings and a tee??) Oh I hate that shit.

its a mow in my case too darn it.

NannyPlumForPM · 13/03/2014 20:43

I think dobe is quite clever on all things physio so hopefully she'll be along with words of wisdom soon! I shall return to my gruffalo cave Grin

dobedobedo · 13/03/2014 21:06

I got to keep my trousers on but had to remove my top so physio could see spine etc. She did roll trousers up so shaving legs might be an idea. Also she pressed my fanjo bone (v sore!) but just pushed trousers down a bit to do that.
Some people have had to take off their trousers though!

dobedobedo · 13/03/2014 21:13

Right. Ds is in bed now. He's been reading his "where babies come from" book and all night he's explained to me how to have sex, what hiv is, what a sperm is, where his hair will grow when he's a teenager, why women have periods etc etc. Grin he's quite matter of fact about it all. No giggling or being grossed out or anything which made it easier on me
Big parenting milestone: TICK.

SarahJinx · 13/03/2014 21:16

But I don't want to take my trousers off ....

or get my fanjo bone pressed Shock

in the name of kicked in fanny pain relief though, I guess whatever is on offer.

thanks done.

Squiffie · 13/03/2014 21:45

Dobe your ds sounds awesome! I love the book idea - less awkward questions! Although have always been of the mindset that if they ask then they can have an honest answer easily followed when eldest is not quite 6 yet

Hope you're ok and have gotten to see someone potatopolly, sounds pretty scary to me!

Sarah, thank yourself lucky if you have 'good pants' to choose, lol, mine are definitely not for getting run over in.Hmm

Psynl, I know my consultant is definitely NOT following NICE guidelines as did my research prior to meeting with him. Frankly he's an arrogant cock with zero bedside manner but that's another story. Definitely going to stand my ground as long as obstetrician says all is well with baby.

mrsmummytobe · 13/03/2014 22:03

Wow this thread moves quickly! Just caught up with it all. Welcome to newbies & lurkers - lovely to 'see' so many new faces! :) Hugs for all those suffering & anyone else who needs one.

I can totally relate to the hormone talk - I have been up & down like a yoyo recently & I've definitely gone crazy at my poor dh a few times for basically no reason (but it felt totally justified at the time).

We had our first nct class this week & really enjoyed it! Was nice to meet other couples due around the same time. It's also made it feel a lot more real!

Rushyswife · 13/03/2014 22:46

Hi everyone!
I am an occasional poster/ frequent lurker on this thread but would like to be better at posting!

I am 32 weeks pregnant with no 2. It will be a second son for us! Due 9th May, seems quite a popular date.... I am married, been with DH 7 years and married for 3 1/2.

I have been really lucky this pregnancy, apart from some horrid morning sickness / tiredness in first trimester. Unfortunately it seems that luck may be running out as I was diagnosed with UTI today (like I need more reason to pee!) high blood pressure and protein in the urine! Hey Ho a load of anti Biotic should zap it (hoping I dibt get thrush as a result, sorry TMI! )

Anyway such are the joys of the final countdown!

Hope all those with more serous probs that whingey me are doing ok...

ClearlyMoo · 13/03/2014 22:48

GrinPositive = no work tomortowGrin

ShockYawnShock so having blobbed and waddled at home all week doing one thing per day I decided I could go to the office.

Drive took forever due to fog. Had to stop at services for a wee. Managed to drop at £20 note I'd taken out of DHs wallet. Hope whoever found it needed it more than us or gave it to charity. Had to hobble back to car get cash card it get cash out then after all that sat in Costa for an obscenely expensive tea & bacon roll. Arrived at work late and knackered. After work got stuck in horrific traffic took me 45mins to drive 1.3miles to hydrotherapy pool so missed my Aquanatal class. Luckily they had space on next one. Then long slow drive home in fog which was so horrid at one point I could only see 3-5m in front. DH cooked dinner, we watched last weeks Outnumbered, then I pretty much got put to bed like a child. He's hung my swim stuff up to dry, made me a hot water bottle and gone to wash up my pack lunch box! I've spent most of the day feeling so tired I could cry and hobbling to loos at work (downstairs ones finally functioning but my ability to walk has worsened!).

Got 11 working days left at least 5 are supposed to be at home, but manager today said not to drive/go in if not necessary so I might do another 3 from home.... We shall see.

Ummmm tired selfish post. Sorry.

Do people know if hot water bottle on back is ok? It's not on bump.

Polly let us know what happened

Sympathy to all GD folks

SJ I honestly never give a damn about hairy legs for physio. They're not that interested. If you wear snug leggings they're unlikely to hoik up anyway!

Moomin do you get neurological results tomorrow? I've lost track!

Welcome Rushy. Are you on cefalexin?! Have me thrush. Finally gone now with canesten a week after I stopped! Good luck?

loopylou52 · 13/03/2014 23:43

Hope you're ok polly.

Sarah - I usually have to take my trousers off so try to remember to shave my legs before appointments. I'm sure they won't care though!

Hope everyone else is doing ok!

Bornin1984 · 14/03/2014 02:49

Does anybody else
Fall asleep and wake up for their ritual to the bathroom but feel they have slept for days but still shattered?

dobedobedo · 14/03/2014 04:20

Bornin, I never feel like I've slept for long enough.
This getting up in the night to pee is really bloody annoying. Angry

Let's try and get back to sleep again...

At least tomorrow my manager isn't in the office so I can relax a bit more.

ClearlyMoo · 14/03/2014 04:47

Been up for over an hour. Two loo trips later I've realised that I'm hungry so the 4/5am bagel is in the toaster. Ladies you are not alone!

OP posts:
hobbjobb · 14/03/2014 06:26

I had a 5:45am toast stop this morning clearly
I also woke my cats up which is fun as they normally jump on us to wake us up. They looked dead moody Grin

dobedobedo · 14/03/2014 06:55

OHMYFUCKINGGOD!

I have to get up for work at 7am. I had been awake since 3.30am and I finally dozed off again at 6.30am. And then DH nudges me for snoring!! Angry
I want to cut his fucking head off! Worst thing anyone could ever do. And I'm pretty sure this is rational and not just because I'm sleep deprived, in pain and hormonal.
Bastard.

dobedobedo · 14/03/2014 07:03

If I had time I'd start a thread in AIBU.
AIBU to piss in DH's shampoo because he woke me up? Surely IANBU.

Right from now on when I'm awake in the night, HE can be awake in the night. "oops sorry didn't mean to wake you up there. Since you're up, can you get me a drink?"
Tosser. Angry

psynl · 14/03/2014 07:46

Squiffie - it is so frustrating when the guidelines aren't followed. It makes everything feel like a battle

My positive today - it's my last day at work. I am so ready to be done!

PotatoPolly · 14/03/2014 07:53

morning all! I'm all fine over here- I had some dinner and forced myself to drink lots of water and felt alot better so am going to ask at mw this morning. Just can't get rid of this headache but at least I'm not so dopey anymore Smile promised dh I'll eat more often! Thank you for your concern Thanks

I've never taken anything off for physio except my shoes (although she's now told me there's nothing else she can do, bloody hypermobilitySad)

was supposed to have a cheeky lay in this morning before my appt but some scroats have just woken me up shouting at each other cos one's bike hit the others car... shhh Angry

Bornin1984 · 14/03/2014 07:55

My dh insists I wake him if I'm up! He makes me drinks and stuff!

In ruined By him Grin

loopylou52 · 14/03/2014 07:56

OMG dobe, you poor thing! YANBU! Sorry to everyone up in the night. I was contemplating cereal at 3.30am but must have managed to doze back off before dragging myself downstairs.

Enjoy your last day psynl!

I really feel for you ladies with gd (or normal diabetes!). It sounds very stressful having to monitor your levels constantly.

MrsFooCough · 14/03/2014 08:15

DH has declared that tonight after work we're going shopping for "diabetic food" (it's payday for him today).
I think he means stuff like low fat spread instead of butter, sweeteners instead of sugar/syrup, sugar-free squash that doesn't taste like arse, lots of good healthy snacky things, that sort of thing.
I shall report back. I AM PLANNING ON SOME DIABETIC ICE CREAM BEING PURCHASED maybe it won't be too appalling?

wm3010 · 14/03/2014 08:26

Happy Friday ladies! Sorry to all those still suffering... and to dobe for DH being horrible.

Looking forward to the weekend here, last NCT class tomorrow on breastfeeding - is this goign to involve the famous knitted boob?!
