We're going through these fast! Thought seen as we were filling up the last thread fast I'd attempt a new thread, not sure how to copy our due date list over though... Could someone else do that?

Fab captain some more good news. Care I'm suffering too, not so much on my face my skin there has gone super dry and patchy but spots on my back and chest.

mrsb87 · 22/03/2014 17:11

Congrats captain!
carebear I have been suffering with really dry skin this past week!

Well its happenes, I tried on about 3 different pairs of jeans to wear out tonight and none of then fit, boohoo!

porcito · 22/03/2014 17:27

Great news captain, fatpony and ohthe goats!

captain, the SH was what I had at 8 weeks, was small, and by 10 it had all gone, no problems. (Apart from sending me mad with worry every time I saw blood).

Clothes definitely getting tighter here. MIL wants us to go with her to a ball type thing next week, quite concerned I might have to go in my yoga pants as nothing formal fits!

ohthegoats · 22/03/2014 17:58

gunwalloe - he sort of explained stuff. As last time, the actual scan bit took a long time. Probably 45 minutes. He spent ages poking my belly (nice), to get the baby moving (protesting) around more to check legs and arms, then explained everything in loads of detail, and pointed out all the 'bits' of anatomy.

I actually got the courage to look at my weight today - I've not weighed myself for probably 2 years (I've asked them not to tell me at all appointments). Weirdly, despite feeling awfully fat and manky, I'm lighter than I was those 2 years ago (when I was quite thin for me). Must be that all the lardy bits are up front, which I'm just not used to.

When we got home I went to JoJo Maman Bebe and bought myself two pairs of skinny trousers that I can get away with for work. Yay... no more leggings and dresses. They were in the sale too, so both for the price of one. Just putting them on and actually being able to pull them up was BRILLIANT. Oh the comfort!

Bumpforme2014 · 22/03/2014 18:00

Yay loving all the scan updates! Quite looking forward to my next one now. Yes carebear spots here also, had bad breakout few weeks ago on face, back and chest only for them to return this week all over face. Also, nausea and tiredness is well and truly back this week going away next weekend so I'm hoping this is the last week of feeling rubbish, on countdown to second trimester now.

gunwalloe · 22/03/2014 18:05

Fantastic! ive never seen a man the whole time ive been in there god I hope I don't need the internal scanner. He didn't show you any "bits" you didn't want to see did he? You didn't want to know the sex did you?
I hadn't seen this and had commented on the harmony thread im not mad honest!

ohthegoats · 22/03/2014 18:10

No, no 'bits' pointed out. I totally forgot to even look for them either.. I was SO desperate for the loo, so the wobbling of my belly involved some concentration to not pee myself. The photos we've got aren't of the whole baby, just down to chest. Photos from last time have the whole baby though, so I had a little look.

I still think it's a girl. Not from appearance, I've just got a girl feeling.

gunwalloe · 22/03/2014 18:19

Im going to ask his/her opinion ive read that they will take a guess but say not to take it as 100%
The best picture I got from there was at the first appointment it had the whole baby and the yolk sac that looked like baby had a balloon :) The last one looked like a frog it was a picture of its back/spine with arms legs coming out from its sides very freaky!

ohthegoats · 22/03/2014 18:30

I wanted a frog-like picture, but there wasn't one to choose from today. It's the least important thing for us for some reason. I don't think we've looked at last time's pics since we left the clinic. I always figured I'd have them on the fridge, but no.

Had a weird conversation with the boyfriend afterwards though - apparently I 'should' be breastfeeding for as long as possible, and that he should get some say in the matter. This man is the son of a bra burning feminist, and the partner of well, me. And there he was suggesting he had some say over what I do with my boobs. Luckily a waiter interrupted before I tore him a new one.

We haven't broached the subject of surname for child yet (we're not married, and have no intention of getting married either), so I imagine there are some heated conversations to come. Haha.. now the serious stuff is mostly over for a few weeks, we can argue about the relatively trivial.

Captainmcgraw · 22/03/2014 18:36

Yes to the spots - feel like a teenager again. Thanks Porcito - recalled that someone had mentioned having it but couldn't remember who so nice to be reminded and so pleased things were all fine at your rescan. I'm staying positive and actually pleased there's a reason for it as the spotting in my first pregnancy was always unexplained.

bythesea82 · 22/03/2014 18:59

captain glad things were all good, great news! Reassurance of last scan wearing off and continuing bleeding getting scarier. I am wishing myself 2 weeks forward so I can properly join scan excitement. Think I might have to give in and have a private one next week for peace of mind.
Loving hearing all the good scan stories and falling asleep stories, keeping me going!

TroubleAndFyfe · 22/03/2014 19:09

Fab scan news everyone! Grin I'm so looking forward to mine!

HumTeach1012 · 22/03/2014 20:33

Had my first scan yesterday. So I'm 11+5 today. Cried when I saw baby on screen. Told all the family last night and today so been on cloud nine. Bought them all story books and wrote notes inside. Nice to be able to talk to people now. My spots are bad too, I blame the hormones! Just so glad everything is ok. So happy to be able to join in with everyone else's happy scans too, congrats everyone. Xx

TroubleAndFyfe · 22/03/2014 21:04

That's great Hum! Smile

binkybunny · 22/03/2014 22:48

That must be really stressful sparkle! There are a few on here who've had it and it's really common, doesn't make it any easier though I'm sure! I have a friend who didn't know she was pregnant until she was 6 months, she had had a period like bleed every month! It'd be a lot easier for everyone if there were set rules for pregnancy.

binkybunny · 23/03/2014 10:14

sparkle lots of spotting and some yucky stuff here too. Had a scan at 6 weeks with first lot and all was ok. Scroll back a page or two and you'll see my stressing on Friday! Midwife didnt really put my mind at rest but the fact they didnt insist on seeing me I took as a sign not to worry too much. Our scan is on Thurs and it just cant come round soon enough! Spotting and even some bleeding seems to be the norm. Captain also had the same on Friday and her scan was all good. It is worrying though. Just dont Google. That terrified me!!!

Captainmcgraw · 23/03/2014 10:29

Agree with Binky - definitely no googling Sparkle. Just wish I would follow my own advice though! Midwife told me often your blood vessels get very vascular in pregnancy hence gums bleeding, nose bleeds etc. but this can also affect your cervix. For me it was a bleed in my uterus which they found on scan so your next scan might possibly show something similar. If it's a small bleed they don't seem to be concerned though, it just gets monitored. If there's no serious cramping or lots of blood then it's usually a sign there's nothing to worry about (easier said than done though). Good luck.

BingoBango85 · 23/03/2014 10:40

I'm 9+2 today and dtd the first time in weeks, now I'm bleeding a little. Anyone else had this? Presuming it's ok as I feel fine, other than a tad worried

mrsb87 · 23/03/2014 12:21

So maternity jeans are officially the most comfortable things ever!! I had a depressing evening of trying on all my jeans for none of them to fit. This has happened in about 3 days!

binkybunny · 23/03/2014 13:27

Cant wait to go shop for my maternity jeans next week! Having to hold all my trousers and skirts together with a hair band now not a good look if my top pulls up!

Captainmcgraw · 23/03/2014 13:37

bingo - that happened to me in first pregnancy and all was fine - just a tender cervix probably. I did hold off until after the first trimester after that though as it made me worry and took the fun out of DTD

ohthegoats · 23/03/2014 14:09

I couldn't find any jeans that felt right, but got a pair of chinos and a pair of skinny something-elses, which are fine for now.

What I also found (for the next couple of months particularly), are harem pants - Next for £16 or something. I'm pretty much going to swamp myself in those and tunic tops for as long as I can get away with it. I'm too short for pregnancy to be a good look for me - going to look like a walking pudding by 6 months - so may as well embrace it.

twowolvesonemoon · 23/03/2014 15:05

I think I'm a bit late to the party, but I just wanted to say hello to all of you :) I'm due on the 22nd of October and this is my first pregnancy. I'm living in Lebanon so not only will growing, giving birth to and rearing a baby be a new experience, but Lebanese culture is about as far removed from British culture as you can get. I'm very very excited at becoming a Mum and so far pregnancy has been treating me okay, just tiredness, some bloating and occasionally feeling like I just stepped off a roller coaster. My husband would probably say that my patience has dropped to zero, but he is patient for the both of us thank god. Nice to meet you all and I'll be paying lots of attention to this thread! I need as much advice as possible.
