I've just seen Kim Kardashian is launching her own kids collection at babies r us. We haven't got one near us so haven't been, but I'm guessing it will be a load of sparkly babygrows!

Isean · 20/02/2014 17:05

Thank you so much for you very kind wishes everyone Thanks

Happy birthday Spireal

It's been a rollercoaster week for me, was told by the doctor to stay off work today as I haven't been able to keep much down since Saturday night and have really struggled to sleep (more so than usual). I was very teary this morning and cried my eyes out talking to the doctor Blush. I coped with the morning sickness all through the first 22 or so weeks, but this week the nausea/vomitting/heartburn/acid reflux/lack of sleep has really got to me.

Also, had my first antenatal/parentcraft class yesterday afternoon. It was good and the midwife taking it and the other mums-to-be were lovely. I think it will give me reassurance as things go on.

30+2

Happy birthday spirael! Sorry you had a rubbish one bornin - your family and friends should be ashamed!

So sorry you can't enjoy celebrating your engagement isean. Let's hope sickness is a temporary blip for you and clearly, and anyone else suffering.

Have had multiple people at work commenting on my bump this week. No-one saying anything particularly bad (though someone referred to it as impressive!) but it makes me feel so self conscious! Ah well, working at home tomorrow where no-one can look at me.

MasterFlea · 20/02/2014 18:51

Happy birthday Spirael and belated wishes to Bornin

Hope you get better soon Isean. Take it easy.

I bought my mat clothes from H&M and most have lasted well. Live in their tracksuit bottoms and this is my 3rd pregnancy in them. Some tops have holes but they were the ones made of a very fine fabric to start with as opposed to their other cotton tops that have worn much better. I can't fault them.

Lots of sympathy to you Clearly. I used to work with a smelly man and it was horrid. I often contemplated speaking to someone up higher about his stink. But he had a different whiffy office so I could avoid him a lot. And I hate confrontation. (Big chicken cluck)

AppleCrumble1 · 20/02/2014 19:51

Happy Birthday Spireal and congratulations on your engagement Isean
Just home from work & shattered! 7 weeks & counting until I can finish by using up holiday then starting mat leave in May!

mrsmummytobe · 20/02/2014 22:37

Apple it's so good to think the end is in sight isn't it! I've only got 6 more weeks left at work, then the Easter hols then I'm just doing 3 days into the summer term before leaving on mat leave. Can't wait now. I've been on half term this week & it's amazing how much more tired I get just doing simple things like a bit of shopping.

moobaloo · 20/02/2014 23:38

8 more weeks at work AND only part time! Grin such a change from the last 5 years of non-stop slogging! House is so much cleaner too!

Looking forward to a summer of newborn snuggles, long walks in the sun (I can hope!) and never thinking about ironing something ready for work the next day!

Baby has been very active past two days but more wriggly than kicking, very interesting to feel!

Hope you feel better soon Isean xx

Xavielli · 21/02/2014 02:57

Had a really lovely day at friends wedding. Cake was loved by all (thank goodness!) awake at 'pee o'clock' as usual :) it's nice to have the big white double bed to myself.

Re: birthdays. only DP and my parents get me cards etc for my birthday. Doesn't bother me at all as the kids always get something each from extended family and friends (and there are rather a lot of them! ((Kids that is..)))
My best friend and I buy a pair of tickets each for shows events throughout the year and that's our gift to each other :)

Xavielli · 21/02/2014 02:59

30 weeks tomorrow - 7-8 weeks til induction! I hope it continues to fly by...

Bornin1984 · 21/02/2014 08:33

Is it
Ok for pregnant woman to gloss their doors ?

Squiffie · 21/02/2014 08:46

Morning all! Just checking in.

I think glossing is a bit iffy because of the paint fumes. Suppose it depends how well ventilated you can keep the space around you! X

Sorry to hear you've been feeling rubbish isean, Thanks for you! X x

Squiffie · 21/02/2014 08:48

Happy birthday for yesterday Spirael!

Glad everyone loved the cake Spirael - photos?! Please Grin I sometimes make cakes - which taste fab (so friends say not just me) but usually get a 'must try harder' on decorating, lol Wink

Isean · 21/02/2014 08:49

I wondered about painting too Bornin, maybe a mask, lots of ventilation & plenty breaks?

Has anyone had lots of itching, particularly their hands? I have had itchy boobs, back & bump throughout, but through the night my hands were driving me crazy! I'm nervous after googling & not being well this week! I remember Moomin mentioned something about being itchy recently, but don't remember the responses or outcome.

Bornin1984 · 21/02/2014 08:54

I can open all my windows and front door to keep it ventilated!!

I may sound stupid but I thought it would be more stinky when the paint dries so if I did it today it would be more fumes come sat/ Sunday but I'll be at work all day both days!

MoominIsWaitingToMeetHerMiniMe · 21/02/2014 09:14

Isean I intended to mention it to my midwife yesterday but never actually got to see her Blush so I'm still none the wiser but I'd get it checked with your midwife and just see what she says? It's eased off a bit for me now.

Last two days spent in hospital Sad went in with cramping on Wednesday, kept in because my heart rate was sky high - my pulse didn't go below 105 once during any of their checks apparently, and was usually over 120 - had a scan yesterday and they think I did way too much on Wednesday, I helped run a physical drama workshop for high school kids, after walking into uni and before going swimming. My scar is really struggling to deal with the stretching, and so is my body itself. They were ready to discharge me, sent me down to the pharmacy with OH to get tablets as they said it'd be quicker than waiting for porters... and then had to keep me in even longer because I could hardly get back up to the ward and as soon as I got back, I was sick. So it's stretching pains, not enough iron, not enough food, my already wrecked bowels not doing what they're meant to, and too much activity.

It's made my decision for me though, because I was talking to one of the doctors who'd asked if any decisions had been made about the birth yet. I am going to push for a section, as soon as they can safely allow it, my notes speak for themselves now in terms of my body not coping with it, and we're not sure it'll cope with the pushing either :( I sat and cried yesterday because some of the women on the ward were being induced and I could hear babies crying down the corridor and I was sat there thinking how I don't want to be pregnant anymore.

mrsmummytobe · 21/02/2014 09:16

Advice please ladies! I'm meant to have my whooping cough jab today. Was originally meant to have it on mon but I was ill with a cold so pushed it back to today. I'm still a bit sneezy & blocked up but feeling better than I did. Do you think I'm safe to have it today or should I wait another week until I am totally better? Thanks :)

mrsmummytobe · 21/02/2014 09:18

Cross post moomin. Sorry to hear you have been unwell. A c section sounds like the right way to go for you. Hope you feel much better soon Thanks

loopylou52 · 21/02/2014 09:53

So sorry you're having such a tough time moomin. Hope you're home now and feeling better. Glad you've been able to come to a decision about the birth, it does sound like it's the right thing for you and that you'll have support for it. Have you thought about what to do about uni over the next couple of months? It sounds so full on! Thanks

loopylou52 · 21/02/2014 09:55

mrsmummy - I'm not sure what the guidance is to be honest. When I went for the jab the nurse asked me if I was feeling well, but I don't know what she would have done if I'd said no. Might be worth calling surgery in advance to check?

Isean · 21/02/2014 10:02

Oh Moomin you're not having much luck are you?! Thanks It's hard to adjust to taking things a bit easier isn't it? I hope you're feeling better today.

impatientlywaiting · 21/02/2014 10:29

Hope you are feeling better soon Moomij.

Isean, definitely talk to your midwife about it. There are links between itching hands and feet and a liver condition. Check out this link www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/itching-obstetric-cholestasis-pregnant.aspx#close

moobaloo · 21/02/2014 10:43

Poor you Moomin - hope you feel better for the last run and get the outcome you want, hopefully time will fly and you'll recover quickly after the birth xxx

Isean - as impatiently says there are links between itching and OC so best ask. However I get quite itchy on the bump sometimes and enjoy running my nails lightly over it, feels nice! Could be STRETCHMARKS coming as I've heard they itch? Although I haven't got any on my bump yet but plenty on my boobs, which haven't itched as far as I can remember? So dunno x

Isean · 21/02/2014 10:53

That's what's been worrying me as I've also noticed my pee is very dark and has a bit of a strange smell, but as I've been so sick I wasn't sure if that was because of dehydration. The itching has calmed down a wee bit this morning. I started ranitidine tablets yesterday and one of the (rarer) side effects listed is itching/rash, so maybe it's that, although I have no rash.
I'll maybe give my midwife a wee call just to put my mind at ease.

impatientlywaiting · 21/02/2014 11:05

Hopefully it isn't anything to do with OC Isean, but worthwhile getting checked out to be on the safe side.
