Fingers crossed dobe - they've accepted us as long as we have a guarantor, which we do :) thanks :)

Part of me feels so ready to get off the rollercoaster, the other part wants to stay on for a lot longer Grin I'm not ready!!!!

We've had two babies born in the April group, it all feels so near and scary now!

GrinGrinGrin Swimming is GOOOOOOD

Obvs when I say "swimming" I mean doing a whale impression in the pool and WALKING without pain and yeah wooo moving round more than I have in a fortnight.

Psychological effect of (really quite pathetic) exercise is great! Yay! Well done me & baby!!

I picked up a "swim loyalty card" swim 10 times (in next 10 weeks) get two free - so I need to go swimming another eleven times before ClearlyBaby arrives! Ummm that feels ambitious but I feel so much better (in myself really rather than physically) that should be motivation enough surely!!!

Moomin I missed the flat news! GrinHUZZAHHHH!

Fingers crossed the flat becomes official soon moomin. Any idea when you might get to move in and get away from your crazy flatmate? I think you should def do the study - I can't imagine there are that many people who could take part in one uni!

I'm impressed with some of your energy levels! I skived pilates this morning as I felt rubbish, but hopefully off to paint the nursery shortly.

Latest housemate update: she's angry at OH for siding with me over 'Bowl-gate', and for looking in the bin and finding out that it was my bowl.

He only looked because he couldn't find my bowl and had a sneaking suspicion that it was actually that one that had been broken.

And she wonders why we don't believe her story of how the reason there's still two of their bowls in the cupboard is because they went out that day and bought a spare "just in case" Hmm

Oh and she's angry because OH did their washing up last night too, as it was in the bowl and had been for three hours and we needed to do ours. Apparently he has no right to wash their cutlery.

Get me out of this house!!! Grin

Problem is she was in the kitchen sitting at the table painting cardboard boxes (god knows why, she thinks of herself as a crafting goddess) so she'd have seen us doing it and had a go. Can't win Grin

Think next time we'll refuse to wash our stuff until she's washed hers Grin

Swimming is so good clearly, I'm loving it too! Have my wee target to reach when I go and then do it (slowly). Not suffering nearly as badly as the rest of you but have been sore and pressure is off in the pool.

moomin, keep focused on that baby and your soon to be new pad! Will be mega exciting, hope it all comes through soon.

We got pictures and transfers up in the nursery today, it looks so cute. Nappies etc packed away yet hospital bag not packed. Priorities in wrong order methinks! We also chose our crib today, it's a Chicco Next2me which has a side that zips down so baby can sleep next to me but In Their own space. It can also be a normal crib too if the semi co-sleeping doesn't work out. Only prob is it's not available to buy yet, should be able to have one delivered mid-April, cutting it v fine to my due date.

Happy Saturday night ladies, hope it's as rock & roll as mine (ie feet up on sofa, bliss)!

If I have two slipped disk in my back do any of u reckon I can still have a spinal for elcs or will I need a g a??

Report
MoominIsWaitingToMeetHerMiniMe · 08/03/2014 18:58

bornin Not sure; my mum has the mildest form of spina bifida and two of her discs are fused together so it may be very very different but I know she wasn't allowed epidural with any of us (she didn't have to have c sections though)... probably best to discuss with consultant next time you see them though.

I have anaesthetic review this week to see what they say. I have a feeling they going to say g a !! But then dh won be allowed in with me, I would rather have the spinal but I have to do what's best for the backHmm

GrinGrin Had a nice nap earlier (on living room floor with my theraline pillow)!

Oh BornIn that sounds RUBBISH (and very ouchy)! Poor you! Hey we learnt in antenatal yesterday about importance of skin to skin and they suggest if the Mum has a GA then Father should request to do 1st hour skin to skin with baby until Mum comes round! Something to think about for birth preferences.

When I signed up to swimming loyalty scheme earlier I mentioned to lady in leisure centre that I was struggling to stand, and she said "well you're nearly there", I said "at least two months to go" her eyes nearly popped out of her head! I didn't think bump was too giant!!!

DH deserves a medal he's been brilliant he's cooking beef stew and mash for dinner while I sit on my birthing ball and message you lot!

We are babysitting 98yo Grandma (next door) so he will be staying at his parents tonight. I will feel less guilty with my midnight loo trip wailing and moaning! Plus whole bed to self!!

Dh already has his instructions to consent to everything they ask if I need a ga!! Like vit k, the baby will need blood sugars doing, and a bottle feed even tho I want to breast feed! Got to do what can to prevent him going to nicu!!

Ooh Clearly your dinner sounds lovely (not as lovely as whole bed to yourself though haha!!)

OH is out at work and I'm already wondering what I'm going to ask him to make for tea when he gets back Blush I considered surprising him by having cooked something when he gets back (nothing fancy, probably fish fingers and mash judging by my cooking skills) but I realised that a) housemate will be taking over the whole kitchen again and b) I can barely make it down the landing to the toilet, the kitchen may be too far Grin

Really shouldn't be allowed to do the food shop anymore! I bought cake, cornettos, frozen fruit, all the fruit juice they had in store, two bags of minstrels and some other junk. I'm not even hungry like! I had some mashed potatoes when I got home. Lol

Dh is out being sociable in a pub with his work mates. I couldn't think of anything worse! I'll be grand here with my mash potatoes and ant and Dec and am early night! Isn't being pregnant fun? Smile

sambababy · 08/03/2014 19:53

Start with a positive.... Today we bought tons of stuff for the baby! shame I think some was unnecessary, just DH trying to grab and get out of the shop faster, he can't hack shopping

Still no bedding though. I am scared of co-sleeping, our room doesn't have space for a co sleeper cot either.

moomin your housemate sounds like a flipping LOONY! No wonder you can't wait to get out of there.

I'm with you on the swimming ladies, slow backstroke is literally the only thing I can do these days. I spent 2hrs slowly walking along with a carnaval parade on Sunday and have been paying for it ever since.

Off to google how to smuggle gas & air into Brazil. Perhaps a scuba tank...

Report
randdom · 08/03/2014 20:32

bornin do you know where your slipped disks are. As they put the spinal in at a specific level and therefore if it isn't near there it might be ok.

We took DS swimming this week so got to float around in the baby pool - so lovely and warm, like wallowing in a giant bath! My friend had bought a Peppa Pig inflatable noodle for her DS but I managed to borrow it for five mins and just float around - utter bliss.

Nanny Your FIL is hilarious, has he been hanging around with Godfrey Bloom?? Whatatwat.
FWIW, my poor unmarried mother sailed through both her pregnancies without a single twinge or hitch or so she has me believe anyway.

DM came out with a corker this week tho - we're talking about paving over the postage stamp of gravel in our tiny garden as next door's cat keeps crapping in it, and she reckons "...And of course you can do it yourself before the baby comes". Shock Hmm
Wha??! Lift and shift 10+ paving slabs?? Are you fucking kidding me?
Apparently not. She eventually conceded that perhaps DH would have to deliver them to the back garden for me, but still saw no reason why I couldn't do the rest myself. Hmm She has literally no idea, and as much empathy as your average housebrick.
Mustn't be too grumpy about it tho, she's very kindly if reluctantly driving 3 hours down to us tomorrow so she can come help out at Hospital on Monday - I have my 32wk growth scan and consultant appt, and DS has to see the TB clinic.

I'm 32wks today, and just had the realisation that if TinyTit arrives as early as his big brother, I've only got 4 weeks left!! Shiiiiiiiiiiit! Grin

At almost 32 weeks is it normal for movements to again feel like flutters and not actual movements
