Yay for Isean! :)

Clearly This little one is very spinny and every few days will turn himself right around so I don't feel a thing all day.
Most of the big kick action is on my right side under my ribs (rather inconveniently my most painful place!), and that seems to be his default position to come back to, so when he 'goes missing' for a bit he'll often kick me in odd places like the very top of the bump while he works himself back round. Now it's a regular occurrence I don't worry about it.

dobedobedo · 19/02/2014 11:26

This baby firmly prefers the breech position. I don't think he's been head down once since I was first aware of which way he lies - so since about week 25. I do hope he turns eventually!

Hezbean · 19/02/2014 13:34

clearly Really glad LO is moving and you're OK.

dobe mine's the same! kicks me in the pelvis / between the hips constantly, I hardly ever feel anything anywhere else. Hope he/she moves too!

kally195 · 19/02/2014 14:12

Massive congrats Isean!!

wm3010 · 19/02/2014 14:15

congratulations Isean!

I am really impressed that so many of you can tell the baby's position. I have no idea, I do know where I'm getting kicked most but that's about it really!

dobedobedo · 19/02/2014 14:57

The health visitor just left. She was really nice!

Basically I was flagged for a visit because I've had depression in the past and therefore am at increased risk of PND. She just wanted to make sure I was self aware enough to recognise depression and seek help again, she was asking if I had bought baby stuff and if I was well supported etc etc. I won't see her again until the baby is born, but all in all, very positive.

I've not lived here that long so it's nice to know I've got support other than dh close by.

bushprincess · 19/02/2014 15:15

that sounds great dobe glad you're getting some good support

ClearlyMoo · 19/02/2014 15:34

Dobe that's great! Are you doing any classes? NHS antenatal/NCT etc where you might meet people? I've only been to 3/8 of my NCT ones but already feeling like my new NCT friends are going to be helpful to talk to etc!

I have no idea what position my baby is in. Probably cos I'm a fatty! All I can assume is that it's doing it's kicking against placenta at the mo

wm3010 I can't tell how baby is laying either, just that I get kicked in the fanny or the ribs!

dobe I had a letter through saying I have a health visitor coming to see me in a couple of weeks too, glad yours was nice!

dobedobedo · 19/02/2014 16:15

clearly my midwife runs her own classes and I'm going to the NHS ones too. I'm not doing nct because they're quite far away and childcare for ds is an issue in the evening and I feel like the others is enough.
She was also telling me about some breastfeeding initiative happening in my County too this year which I can get involved in. Apparently rates here are low and it's not seen to be very normal. AND she's offering help with getting registered as a childminder which is nice! So there's lots to look forward to, even if it seems all I do is sit on the sofa and feed a baby!

MasterFlea · 19/02/2014 18:53

Congrats Isean! Great news.

My miniFlea has been quiet today too but enough wiggles to keep me from worrying. He/she was bouncing around like crazy last night for a whole hour. DH could see the kicks from across the room. So I reckon it is wrecked today from doing the equivalent of a marathon.

Welcome Horace Smile

sambababy · 19/02/2014 19:16

Hi Horace! Congrats Isean! I wish I could get engaged again, to my DH of course Smile It's such a lovely feeling.

We had another scan yesterday and apparently LO's tummy is measuring a bit small for their age. I'm not really worried because I'm eating normally and was 8lb3 myself at birth, so I doubt I'm destined to have small babies! They still have 3 months to fatten up with me.

My baby has been settled in the same position for a while now. I wasn't sure exactly which lumps and bumps were what until the scan. Head down low, back/bum to the left of my belly button (looking down) and kicking out to my rhs. Starting to feel a little bit short of breath sometimes if I don't sit up straight.

Squiffie · 19/02/2014 19:53

Congratulations isean!!

Welcome Horace! You're due day before me and I feel your pain in regards to 28 week bloods, gtt and a lo to entertain for 2 hours!

I've had a quiet baby yesterday and today too - got some coke in the cupboard so think I'll pour myself a glass with dinner! X

NannyPlumForPM · 19/02/2014 20:05

Oh god I feel a bit rough now :( tummy keeps tightening and have a cracking headache- anybody else have any symptoms after the whooping vaccine?

Feel quite sick too- probably lack of food but I feel rubbish! Grumble grumble

Chip86 · 19/02/2014 20:41

Congratulations isean how exciting

welcome horace

Not sure how baby is lying as i can feel kicks from every were
so tired and now when i walk far get really bad tummy cramps like upset tum, headach and feeling dizzy and like im going to pass out glad i have midwife appointment on friday i will talk to her
i also have scan at 29 weeks on friday i have just realised this is unusal now im worrying what is wrong is she to big or to small ? Oh well will find out on friday

dobedobedo · 19/02/2014 21:05

Welcome horace!

I'm on my mobile so I've instantly forgot who said what, but getting cramps/bh contractions when you "over do" it is quite normal at this stage I think. Today just dusting the living room set me off!

I'm currently very uncomfortable. Baby feels too tall for me! I have a lot of pressure in my sternum, which I guess is due to baby having his head jammed up in my ribs, pushing them apart.

This is what I get for letting someone a foot taller than me knock me up!

MrsFooCough · 19/02/2014 21:51

dobe I have the same issue, DH is 6ft and I'm 5'3ish...giant baby probably, had really long femur measurement at 20wk scan!

Had 24wk midwife appt, I've gone from 109.5kg at booking appt to 111kg at 25wks! Can't believe that. DH was saying I look thinner (aside from giant bump, which midwife said was measuring a tiny bit big - felt like saying YOU'RE TELLING ME) but I didn't really believe him...maybe it's a symptom of having been so big before the BFP, I dunno Confused
Got my GTT booked for 4days after my birthday...not looking forward to it. Ugh. Hate having bloods taken. The fasting won't be an issue as I rarely rise from bed before 10am (insomnia seems to only affect me in the dark thank goodness so I can catch up during the day), but the fact that they'll need to do tons of vials because they want my 28wk bloods at the same time...the clunk when they have to attach the new vacutainer makes me jump every time Sad
No mention of whooping cough, I'm kind of glad tbh. Freaking out about how sore everyone says it is!! Ha. I mean, I know I'll get it done eventually but I can't bear the thought of them saying "oh yeah just come by on the same day you have your GTT and we'll fit you in" because I may just burst into tears and not stop Blush

Xavielli · 19/02/2014 23:02

I asked about whooping cough today and they don't give it out routinely in our trust apparently. Odd! On the up side I had my usual weekly bloods done and didn't even feel the needle go in. I'm either now completely numb from all the tests of the auxiliary who took them was brill :)

Re: BH - I'm on baby 5 and I've never had a painful one! I can feel my bump tighten when I do too much/randomly in the evening/on orgasm (sorry TMI) but it doesn't hurt. Strange as it sounds I feel the pressure in my sinuses too whenever I get them. I don't find that in proper labour Grin

Cake is completely finished, bag is packed so I'm looking forward to my night away. The wedding I'm going to is for one of the ladies on my previous antenatal group. There are quite a few of us going. it's so nice to think how close pregnancy/childbirth/motherhood could bring us too

LongTailedTit · 20/02/2014 00:35

Re iron supplements - can anyone tell me how long before you felt an improvement?

My Hb hasn't been checked at all as far as I know, but the last few days I've felt really off - very heavy limbed, I couldn't even keep my arms folded and have just been flopped on the sofa every night like a rag doll, much more physically tired than normal. I'm wondering if my iron's low? Haven't got MW for another 4 weeks.

Xavi I'm off to a wedding this wkend too, having made the petal confetti and pouches! :) Have a fab time, hope your cake is a big hit!

ClearlyMoo · 20/02/2014 03:46

Long I've been on my supplements for a week, I'm feeling a lot more energy/ability to stay awake etc..
